As the title suggest, I'm mostly worried about about the growth of the guild. I feel that the guild need to grow in order to be successful as a guild.
Currently, we only have about 55 members and we can't truely expect such a small number to be able to post different topics. I understand that the membership must be controlled, however, the guild can't just stop
growing.
Also, it is difficult to plan different events that everybody can contribute to, like for example, the poetry competition. I'm only suggesting that the guild must be able to expand to be a success. More people bring more ideas, and resources that the guild can use to improve itself.
I just wanted to discuss whether or not others agree, and their ideas for the guild.

I agree with you. Remember, now, a lot of people have end-of-year school stuff to take care off, but we all awfully small, and not that active either. If you want, you could always apply for crew with Sister D., I'd support that. Otherwise, I'd just suggest that if anyone here knows of anyone who they think should join, say so. If anyone wants, they can PM me, just tell me who, why, and I'll get on it. I really care about how this guild does, and I'm glad to see someone else does too. biggrin sweatdrop

It's just that having to go through an "interview" in order to become a member requires more crew members. It mainly depends on Sister D., about how much she wants to expand the guild so I'll try contacting her.... Still, more events need to be planned so ideas on that would be great since I'm sure that Sister would at the least consider it. mrgreen

- back to point. The trouble is, I don't run the guild, and I'm not looking to, so a lot of things I really try to get Sister D.'s and Famorge's opinions first. Sometimes, especially due to our lifestyles meaning we're on at very different times, it takes 1/2 a day to wait for the other to reply, and getting anything sorted out can take days. Lastly, I'm not quite sure what you're saying about the interview. Yes, you have to go through one. Is that you're problem? Don't sweat it. It's no test, especially if you're a nice and thoughtful person, which you are 3nodding

Well, considering the fact that I practically live online, I would be happy to be a crew member. I love recruiting people, so it should be fun. Hmm... maybe we should have a "Recruiting Crew" specifically for that purpose so that the rest of the Crew can plan events? You know, break the Crew down into different factions: Events, Recruiting, ect. It'd make everyone's job easier. And it doesn't just have to be someone from the crew giving ideas - post a poll or a Thought thread and get guild members to contribute. Then members of the Events Crew can organize it. ^_^ Sorry, rambling.

A nice idea, but we'd only need that once we have a member count in the hundreds. Right now, everything's so slow that there's no trouble keeping everything organized. I know you can't see it, but I do end up keeping track of a lot in the crew discussions. It's not that hard, but only because nothing happening sweatdrop

My activity is the guild is rather low, and I apologize for that. Anyway on to the point of my post.
Having more guild members is very essential in having this guild grow into something good and some place people actually want to be in. Since more crew members the more spread out they will be in the forums and can get more people to join the guild. I'd be glad to have more crew members, mostly on the account Scrya should not be having to do all this on her own. Her work is appreciated and all but that's not fair to her to make her do all the work. I take blame on that part. I have the ability to be active but I just don't think about it and the guild suffers because of my choice. It's not right to me. So I', thinking that we need to be closer in terms of communication. Posting is fine and all but only so much can be done and all. Could use IM but who know how well that could even work out in the end. But I digress.
And Scrya I really want to thank you for the dedication you're putting in this guild. Shows how "dead" I can be... So thanks again for the work you do

Thank you Famorge, I'm flattered. And Professor Blue and Caoimhe_Faelan, you really should try for crew. That way, it won't be such a big deal if one crew member has a 'dead' spell.
As for how the crew can keep in contact I can't think of a lot, but we could try posting hours we'll usually be on (Gaia Standard time). Even if you can only make one hour a day or so, and end up just keeping a webpage open while you're doing something else (I've done that before) at least we can know when to talk to each other. Instant messaging could be a little iffy. One, it might end up like on Gaia, with us all missing each other's times on. Second, we probably all use different messaging systems. I myself run a Linux operating system, and I've got an IM system that's supposedly compatible with almost every other one, except I have no clue how it works. sweatdrop

Thanks Scrya for the motivation to apply which I did on the first day but no respond...
Anyway, I would just like add that perhaps more authority should be placed on the crew members since it is difficult for Sister to balance out her schedule. Like be able to plan an event only if all the crew members are the senior members agree.

That's a good idea. But of couse have to talk that over with Sister, since her guild and all.

I don't see what is so hard when it comes to managing the guild few members rarely any posts whats so hard. But we do need more members.
