Disclaimer: I own nothing except for a few unknown characters, but I definitely don’t own you, or any Naruto character. But I do own your personality for the story. Information about any Inugami was found off of wikipedia.org. This is going to be you taking the place of Haku, but during the “Tazuna” mission more will be uncovered. Kakashi isn’t twenty-six he’ll be twenty-four for this story.(And I nearly started this a year ago, and it's still incomplete.) Kakashi might be OOC a bit, but you try keeping a guy who never shows emotions in character. (Huh? Too mean...gomenasai! >.<) Read on, dear readers, read on! Sorry guys...not really meant for guys, but if you like yaoi give it a shot.

Chappie 1: Intro to You

It was a cloudy day. You were sitting inside of your house minding your own business. You had decided to watch the clouds. Your eyes focused on one in particular. An arm wrapped about your waist: possessive, and protective.

You have no family left only friends to guide you. They were killed in a battle with ninjas from your village. Your eldest brother protected you during that fight, and ever since you wanted to find the organization who murdered your eldest brother, Leon. Leon gave you the sword opposite of his own. You have the moon sword while Leon had the sun sword.

Everything seemed to be going well in Konoha-gakure, your hometown. Until, a rogue ninja named Zabuza, found you, and took you under his wing.

You have a special gift that no one else truly knows of. You have a special marking on your arm, a white sakura tree, and every year, you never forgot how old you were, because of the blooming sakura petals. You never quite understood what it meant, but you were bound to find out one day, and when that day comes, everyone who is anyone had better be careful. For you life wasn’t all ways a bowl of cherries, but a life on a stage where everyone could watch you. You were the holder of Gobi, a five-tailed dog.

Chapter 2: Your Past
Many years ago, about twenty-two years to be precise, long before Kyuubi came, the Gobi came to Konoha-gakure, and the ninjas defeated it, but they had to find a holder for the demon, and your uncle was the one who sacrificed his life to you to give you the Gobi. He wanted you to be considered a hero, but the adults wouldn’t, couldn’t accept that. You made very few friends, and never knew the reason why.

You have whiskers on your cheeks as well as your best friend, Naruto. He was the only one who seemed to understand what problems you were facing. The only problem was that you were closer in age with his sensei, Kakashi Hatake, more commonly known as “Copy Ninja Kakashi”.

You run a bookstore that Kakashi is found shopping in to find the latest edition of his “Icha Icha” series. He occasionally says “Yo,” to you, and you say, “Hi,” back to him, and that was all you could say to him.

Chapter 3: "Why do I have to fight with trees?"

One night, about a week after your family’s funeral, a rogue ninja, Zabuza, approached you, and said that he could help you harness the powers of your Gobi, and you accepted saying, “I will be a tool for you to use. A weapon at your disposal.” Zabuza just chuckled patting you on the head, all the while he nodded thinking to himself, ‘She is going to be strong when I finish with her. Possibly even stronger than me.’ You just smiled a small smile as you followed him.

As time rolled on you noticed you enjoyed talking to trees, and didn’t want to spar with them.

“Why do I have to fight with trees?” You suddenly asked Zabuza. He had an amused look on his face, as you couldn’t hit a single tree. He wondered why you couldn’t.

Mk. And thank you. ^_^ Actually it isn't going to end up that way, but I get what you mean. It was supposed to have you take his place. (I never knew whether Haku was a guy or a girl for the longest time...until his comment to Naruto in the forest.)

Chapter 4: Gobi and Houkou

You had studied about the Gobi and Kyuubi back at the academy in Konoha. It said that there was once a famous Gobi that in Japanese folklore they called him “Houkou”.

Legend has it that, “Houkou was a canine spirit with five tails and a white colored body. He lived inside of a tree and was spiritually connected to it. Each of the five tails contained one element. It was thought that when Houkou brought down all five tails at once he could cause an earthquake in his path. Houkou was known for his illusions to scare away trespassers or those who would dare harm his tree, because he was the god of illusions.”

When you found that out, and the fact that you were the holder of Gobi, you weren’t surprised when you found out that you were surpassing many of your schoolmates in genjutsu, or the “illusion techniques”.

Apparently you had went to the academy with Kakashi, and he wasn’t on your team though, but you were glad. You were close friends with Obito, and asked him how Kakashi was doing, since Obito was on Kakashi’s team. Obito usually answered with, “Oh, him? He’s fine. Why don’t you talk to him?”

Your usual response was “Oh, I’ve heard he was busy doing this mission or that one.”

Obito could understand. You were a girl, and he was just a friend to you, while Kakashi happened to be more than just a friend to you, more like a best friend, but higher than that, but only once did he nearly say that he loved you. Kakashi was more than just your best friend, even Rin could tell you were. Poor girl even though she had a crush on him Kakashi still looked for you no matter where he went. Missions or otherwise. He wouldn’t tell you that he had feelings for you, but whenever you were near he acted calmer. He wanted to protect you. He once told you that, but that was years ago. You were twelve, and he was fourteen. Ten years to be precise.

More to come, but since I've already pre-typed this I'll give you Chapter 5! Yes, hooray for teenage romance! ^_^ Flashback in said chappie.

Chapter 5: Those First Signs of Love

(Flashback)
You were about twelve years old when you met Kakashi. You had been a family friend of the Hatake clan for as long as you could remember. You sat at a table waiting for Kakashi to show up, but then you realized something was going terribly wrong. ‘Why isn’t Kakashi-san here? Shoot! That’s my cue to run, and find him. He might have gotten hurt.’ Your mind trailed off worrying frantically for his well being.

Not too long afterwards you were running through a dense forest just two miles off of the Hatake house. “Kakashi-san! Where are you?”

“I’m right here. There’s nothing to be worrying about, Y/N-chan.” He said lazily as his hand stroked your silky hair. All of a sudden he stopped ‘petting’ you, and just looked into your eyes. His onyx eyes staring deeply into your eyes. His thoughts were in the gutter, shall we say? But you looked worried about him. He felt relieved. At least he knew someone cared. His gaze flickered into another emotion, one that he didn’t wish to feel, but with you he didn’t really care. That emotion was a first sign of love. He didn’t realize it though. He realized one fact in his life was to protect you, but he wouldn’t say it aloud, so, he whispered it in your ear, “I want to protect you with my life.” You blinked once and pecked him on the cheek. You were blushing a light pink color. He blushed a slight pink, but was grateful that you understood what he had meant. With that you both walked back to his house talking all the while. (End Flashback) (A/N: For a flashback…especially one of my own…they tend to be long, but this one had a little more information in it, but it was crammed.)

Chapter 6: Realization - Not Really

Zabuza flicked you on the forehead. ‘Oh, it was a memory.’ You thought briefly to yourself.

Having to wake up before the sun helped you. You were more of a nocturnal person. You loved to watch the sun rise and set through out the day. You also loved watching Zabuza fighting against you. But you missed Kakashi. Strangely enough you two were meant for each other, but neither one of you realized it. How cruel life can be. Handing you a partner for life, but having the lovers be so blind as not to notice the other’s feelings.

As the days passed on you heard Zabuza mentioning something about Gatou. How he planned to work for the “devil” and kill him in his sleep.

Little did you realize that Kakashi was being sent on the mission along with his squad, Squad Seven, which consisted of Naruto Uzumaki, Sasuke Uchiha, and Sakura Haruno.

Ty! ^_^ I split it up in a way so that it would kinda get the reader's attention.

Chapter 7: Gatou's Mission
Zabuza said that Gatou was assigning you two a mission. To assassinate the bridge builder, Tazuna.

Little did they know that Tazuna, this renouned bridge builder was supposed to be the one that Kakashi and Squad Seven were on a mission to protect.

(Later on during your ‘mission’)
“Why do we have to kill Tazuna again, Zabuza-sensei?” You constantly asked him just to pass the time. He knew you were bored, and gave you the assignment of staying in the tree and watching his fight with the infamous, Hatake Kakashi.

“Because, Y/N, we have to get money for later on, when we finally take over Kiri-gakure.” Zabuza said as if he was pointing out the obvious.

“Oh,” you said sounding a little ditzier than ever. You continued to walk along the old dirt road when you suddenly found a fork in the road. “Which way, Zabuza-sensei?”

“To the right. We need to take the fastest and easiest route possible. And it’s the only way to get to the bridge without anyone spotting us, Y/N.”

“Oh.” Again you thought about how awkward you sounded. Almost like a teenage girl. ‘When was the last time I saw Kakashi-san?’ You mused to yourself. ‘Oh, yeah. Three years ago at the book store, last time I worked there. How long ago was that? Oh, yeah. Four years ago.’ “Zabuza-sensei how much longer until we get there?” You whined. It wasn’t unlike you to whine when you wanted something finished, done and over with.

Yeah...Y/N gets rather bored. Title sounds so much like an English version of a Naruto title.

Chapter 8: Kakashi's Approach! Team Seven Revealed

“Not now, Y/N. We’re almost there. Here we are!” Zabuza said as you reached the bridge anticipating Tazuna’s arrival.

“Oi! They aren’t coming this way, but towards the forest.” You said a little annoyed.

“Come on! I’ll carry you this time, but only this once.” Zabuza said sounding like the father you wanted all your life.

“Okay, daddy!” You said in a childish voice only to hear laughter in the background. It wasn’t Zabuza’s laugh, but Kakashi’s. Oi, did you miss that sound or what? ‘What! Kakashi’s here and I hear three other ninja with him, and Tazuna? What should I do? What should I say?’ You mentally cursed at yourself as your old crush was reading his ‘book’. “Ew! Not that book again! Kakashi-sensei put it away!” You heard the female saying.

“I just want to see what happens next, Sakura.” Kakashi said solemnly as he gave in and put the book away.

“Phew.” The girl known as Sakura said.
