♥ | This is more of a rant than anything else, but I’d like to branch it off into actual discussion somehow...

Has anyone else noticed the faultiness of the dubbed Inuyasha manga?! stressed It’s practically horrid, there are so many typos.

First of all, one of the things that really ticked me off was that they printed it in left to right format. Original manga from Japan is read from right to left. What’s more insulting? Inuyasha is the only manga they ever did this with! Why the hell couldn’t they just leave it the way it originally was like they did with all of other mangas they’ve gotten their hands on?!

Second, they make ridiculous typos that SOMEONE should be able to detect if they know ANYTHING about the manga/anime. burning_eyes Example: in one of the chapter titles (yes! The chapter title--of all things!) they called Tessaiga a “wolf fang.”

Now, last time I checked, Inuyasha is a half-DOG demon, meaning that his father, who forged Tessaiga from his fang, was a full-DOG demon! Where on Earth did they get “wolf fang”? Seriously!

Another thing: after the manga started progressing, it’s as if VIZ translators started getting lazy and began copying the dialogue from the dubbed anime. Kaze no Kizu USED to be “Wound of the Wind,” which is the actual translation, but NOW it’s “Wind Scar.” -twitches-

WIND SCAR! As if putting up with that name in the anime wasn’t bad enough! Now we have to put up with it in the manga, too! Grr... Damn VIZ.

And then...they twist around words and make it sound like Shippou is having some kind of homosexual affair! [inside-joke](Which he is, but with Hakudoushi!)[/inside-joke] In vol. 11, Shippou [supposedly] says, “I gave him back his breath!”

...

How can that possibly be right?! neutral He’s SUPPOSED to say, “He got his breath back!” or something along those lines. NOT “I gave him back his breath!” talk2hand

So you see? I get annoyed with VIZ so much sometimes...that’s probably why I prefer to read the manga online instead of supporting them by buying their messed up stuff. sweatdrop It’s like they have it out for Inuyasha, anyway...what with the bad voice actors they hired for the anime. | ♥

THANK YOU for this rant forum even though it was partially my idea... xd

I own enough of this horrid VIZ version to know what you mean.

Rofl. Yep.

This was during that entire scene with the fight against the fake water god. He was holding Inuyasha under the water and Miroku and Sango recetly released the real water goddess out of her seal. She took off her earing and threw it into the lake, parting it and distracting the water god.

This was when Shippou was SUPPOSED to merely state the obvious. In stead, he ends up coming out of the closet someway or another...(Of course, he is "out there," but with Hakudoushi! rofl.)

Oh kami-sama, and I will now state what is wrong with the recently published VIZ version of the Inuyasha MANGA profile stats book.

Not only are there typos in this, but also mis-prints. This is the worst translated art/profile book EVER published. If people that only pay attention to the dubbed aren't already confused, they'll be even worse off.

Firstly, Kikyou's appearal now seems to include a baboon cloak.

Last time I heard, only NARAKU wears that! Oh, and get this, people say that Naraku's clothing and other traits has been scattered throughout the entire book so now maybe Miroku owns Saimyoushou!

Of course, since the manga is printed from left to right in the VIZ version, they switch all the images in this profile book which was NOT NEEDED.

Kaede's eye patch switches eyes in ONE page. So now, she seems to have both of her eyes being useless.

Kagome's profile says something along the lines of : "A priesstess who battles demonic."

It ends there. Demonic what? Or was that meaning to be "demons"?

Sesshoumaru's mokomoko-sama is now known as "fur." Mokomoko-sama is the OFFICIAL name so they should have kept it as mokomoko-sama. Thank goodness, they got what it was right...

When describing present-day characters, they use ANIME names for a MANGA profile (this may have been in both Japanese and VIZ versions, but still...). Eri, Yuka, and Ayumi are ANIME ONLY names. They shouldn't be used in the MANGA profiles.

When they described Houjou's relationship with Kagome, they kept his name in tact, but when his picture came up, his name was changed into "Eri" and Eri's picture had "Houjou" next to it.

So now confused fans will think that Kagome can't date ERI on Saturdays! Some weird Eri/Kagome yuri fics will now come up (not that I'm against yuri).

And oh yes, Hakkaku is now supposed to be the wolf demon that was in charge with attacking Rin's village or something like that. Hakkaku was supposedly that wolf demon that was killed by Kouga.

Not only is that wrong, but once again, they used ANIME names. Hakkaku and Ginta are not names that Rumiko Takahashi used in the MANGA.

And don't EVEN get me started on the anime and manga publication dates. Why are they nearly caught up with every other series EXCEPT for Inuyasha?

I mean, it's going to take another ten years to get up to volume 50 at the rate they're publishing manga. And the anime isn't even done getting released in DVD format even though it's over on TV!

Inuyasha is seriously being destroyed by VIZ. *takes deep breath*

Yeah, I've noticed the typo's and such... But what really bothers me is that someone pointed out that they cut some stuff out, like censor some really gory scenes or whatever.

...I don't know if it's true, but I hope not.

But whatever, I'll take the crapy manga over the crapy anime anyday, lol!

...I love the manga.

Ditto - at least the manga can't stray too far from it's roots. I started out watching the anime but eventually had to stop, it hurts your brain after a while. sweatdrop The manga is much better - typos or not. Though they really do need to get some people that know how to translate. xp
