a young wolf sat in his den, he wasn't sure what had happened, or where his litter mates and the rest of the pack went, thus he was alone. he howled mornfully calling over and over again "where are you, come find me!" but the only answer was an echo saying "where are you, come find me!" the young wolf sat there for days, slowly starving, for he was to young to know how to hunt for the nutrients he needed.

one day, not long after his pack had misteriously vanished a raven heard his pitiful yowls. she flew into the den and startled the young wolfling when she croaked "child, if you could have one thing in the world, what would it be?" the wolfling looked at her with red rimmed eyes but didn't reply. So the old wise raven cawed "i will give you three hours to think about it, and until then..." she flew off leaving the wolf to his thoughts.

when the raven returned the wolf looked at her with a new light in his eyes. "it would be something if i asked what had happened to my pack, but another to ask for food to give me strength." the raven cocked an eye onto the wolfling before saying "your pack was destroyed by a flash flood my child, and the great wolf god Warrl sent me to look after his son." the raven dropped a rabbit to the den floor before disapeering into the subtile darkness.
