Subbie the Legend

PostPosted: Mon Jun 11, 2007 7:17 am

Alright here is the deal: This is from one of my partners when I had machine radio.

tehsubbie: so if you had to recommend a mmo OTHER then WoW what would you recommend?
DragnMastyr: I'd recommend you take a hammer and break every bone in your hand. It's less painful than the other MMOs
tehsubbie: well I ask this because I am looking to start some MMO radio stations.
DragnMastyr: Unfortunately, MMO radios take a level of community that it's hard to find. WoW is way too big and has way too many people who don't care about community. CoV is better, but it's hard to find people who will do the MxO thing of just standing in a place talking or dancing.
tehsubbie: Well right now my DJs just want more then 10 listeners
tehsubbie: so
tehsubbie: I was thinking Final Fantisy online
tehsubbie: but no trial
DragnMastyr: I've heard bad things about that, but that was from a while ago. CoV might be your best bet

----------------------

I trust what he says and if he says CoV/CoH is our best bet then that's what we'll do.

THERE IS A MAC VERSION YOU JUST HAVE TO BUY IT AT THE STORE.

So, at this point I am telling you (DJ or listeners) it is OKAY to buy CoH/CoV.

We're going to be doing CoH/CoV, for the following. Good community, a lot of the current DJs already have subscriptions to it, also I could see working with Plaync.com and then making other stations for there other games which include: Guild wars, Lineage, and a few others.

The chances of them working with us to supply our listeners with something like CoH/CoV merchandise is good. Or maybe allowing us to interview a dev, or maybe even sponsoring us.

So now I need some help. And I need my loyal listeners and DJs to help us find the help we need.

We need the following:
- Site Admins (1-2 needed)
- News Reporters (DJs can fill this in)
- Graphic Designer / Site Design (I say both in this because if they can do both GREAT)
- Marketing Manager

Again these are NOT paid positions. So you will have to explain to people that doing this for us is out of the kindness of there heart. Also we could make an exception and allow them to DJ. I'll even help them put on a good show. That's about all I can offer, other then a free hamster. :-/

We also need help with a new name. So this will be the final Gaia Contest.

If you can come up with a name for the new radio station I will give you a coco kitty. Just submit your ideas here.

I look forward to hearing all the good names.

I can do the News Reporter. I've been on CoV long enough to know what's going on, when, where, all that good stuff.

I can also do something to help the new users from Gaia, the listeners that want to keep with us, I can help them get started and all of that.

Lets see, names:

Obviously, V-Radio
uh, my brother says, V-FX =|

That's all I got, lol

Looks like I'm not gonna DJ anymore.

I'm not going to get into another MMO.

If you still want me to DJ... In general I would; But I'm not gonna DJ tailored to COwhatever.

Villians Radio, SuperVillian Frequency, VILN-Radio, Radio of Villians(RoV-Radio), SuperVillian-Station, WebVillians, that's all I can think of for now.

Subbie I cant find a mac version of CoV

all I can find is boot camp which would allow me to run it, but in addition to buying the game i would also need to purchase a 2000+ dollar new computer.

so I guess I'm done with the radio guys ):

its been a good run
a short run, but a good one.

y'all are sweet

Dreams of grandeur are just that
Dreams
You really arn't looking at where people are listening
You just worry about how many
I joined because I thought a radio on Gaia was an interesting idea
Now you don't seem to bother much with Gaia anymore
Im quitting the guild
The radio just killed itself

So you mean we're going to have more then one listener then right now? talk2hand

And when we have more then we ever had on Gaia you can kiss my a**. Seriously. This is WHY we're leaving gaia. None of the listeners support G-Radio, and never have.

We give people banners to put in there signatures, and they don't bother. Half the DJs didn't do it, and they were required.

Then people b***h to me and say we want a new venue, we want a new venue. I say sure, ok you want a new venue then what do you want? No one responds. So I do research and decide on CoV and all people do is b***h.

So I can't say but I am all glad I am leaving Gaia.

I provide everyone with trial links to CoV/CoH and no one could even be bothered to at least try it out. Or even provide me with another suggestion. All anyone did was provide me with reasons on why the choice I made for them was wrong.

Then I got DJs flipping out saying that CoV/CoH doesn't work for Mac, but with a simple google search I find this website (on the second search page) that provides a program for using Windows Games: http://www.ehomeupgrade.com/entry/2889/transgaming_fills_mac

(Now I didn't see if the program was free, but I am sure with a little bit more effort someone could find a windows emulator for Mac for free.)

It's really sad that everyone just decides to b***h but I gave TWO weeks for someone to suggest something, for someone to say something, and ether you said nothing or AGREED with me that we need a new venue, but now you complain? I just don't get it.

The reason why a WoW Radio will NEVER happen.
- Too many servers.
- The community is believe it or not worse then gaia.
- There is already a WCRadio.com and they have a high listener load as it is, and a very well put together site. Competition would be pointless.

The reason I won't do a free MMO:
- Not a reliable source. Servers could go down tomorrow.
- No Community. Or very poor one.

I will be adding more radio stations. So eventually there maybe a RO Radio, or a Lineage Radio, or a Conan Radio, or a LotR Radio, etc. Right now though I just don't have the budget for it. I'd like to get CoH/CoV Radio going first, and then we can lunch another one.

So you don't want to spend 20$ on CoV or CoH or 30$ on both the games. Fine. Get the free trial. Give it a shot, but half of you won't even do that. So if your not even willing to do that then you just prove my point on the fact why I need to change venues.

--------

A note on the contest. I want a name that is both Heroes and Villain. Not just CoV alone.

Thanks.

I didn't suggest anything because I like Gaia
I did make a SL account because I was bored
Didn't think about making one until someone suggested it in the venue thread
SL has streaming capabilites
So it would have been a good second choice
Im just a Gaian fanboy
Been here since 2004 and have hated how its declined
But I still stuck with it

So if your not even willing to do that then you just prove my point on the fact why I need to change venues.

You're changing venues because half of your current listeners don't have enough money to pay for a "real" game?
Most of the people on MMOs don't want anything to do with other sites or are ********' addicted to the game. A radio station would lag them.

You know how "GD doesn't click links"?
Most MMOs don't allow links. And you'll get banned for advertising.

Still more then we had here. On top of that I'm already in contacts with Cryptic Studios/ Play Nc the company that created CoH/CoV. So I very much doubt that they wouldn't be talking to me if they didn't expect it to be a big hit.

You all can b***h as much as much as you want. I'm not bringing G-Radio back, sorry but you all proved why G-Radio failed time and again. It's because you all are so supportive.
