Welcome to Hindsight, a slightly altered look at what could have happened at the end of Fushigi Yuugi. I'm Digi, I'll be your guide through this world that I've created. To make things a little easier to read, I've broken everything down into bite-sized chunks of reading.



So hopefully it'll make everybody's lives a little easier.

Anyways, please give the next five posts a good once-over, and I promise all will be made clear. If not, PM/IM me and I'll fix it - it's a working system sweatdrop

Rules

1. Please, please, please, for the love of all that is Holy be active! Try to be on at least once a week or so to check and make sure your character won’t be left behind, or at least to maneuver your character out of the way. If you can’t be on once a week, drop us a line. Most of us here work full-time, or are full-time students, or a combination of both; I promise we’ll understand. If you give me no sort of word or anything for two weeks, I will take you out of the game. No if's and's or but's. Even if you just tell another player, make sure I get the message somehow.

2. OOC does not equal IC. This one’s really important. Make sure you keep the two separate. If Player A tells Player B in a chat that they want Character A and Character B to hook up, Character B shouldn’t suddenly be reading lust/love/attraction in everything Character A does. Likewise, if Character A attempts to kill Character B, it doesn't mean that Player A hates Player B.

3. Surprisingly, this is a democracy, not a monarchy. If you guys have complaints, tell me. If you want to change things (within reason, of course), let me know. I'm pretty flexible and 99% of the time I'm willing to compromise.

4. Watch your language. Yes, most of us here are over 16, and most of us are really quite good at cussing. Some of the seishi are rather well-known for their dirty mouths! But try to keep the cussing from being a main point?

5. A somewhat corollary to 3: this is a democracy, but in the end, my word goes. Don’t expect to be able to say “hey, kick Player A out because she/he’s a meanie-mo and we don’t like them!” and have me do anything. Now, if you’d said “Player A does this, this, and this” I’d be more responsive.

6. There is a limit of 3 NPC's per player. This means that if you play say, Chichiri, you can give him three monkish friends or whatnot to interact with, if you would like. Of course, if you already play one of the required story NPC's (like Suzaku) I won't be as harsh about this.

These are the important ones. There are some common sense ones – like not killing one another, watching your spelling, watching your post length – but I think you guys know those. Common courtesy is pretty much all these rules are.

The Last Word

So you’ve sifted through my backstory. You made it through the rules. You’ve looked over all the free characters, made a selection, and are actually interested. First off, congrats! I know that was probably a bit of an info-dump to get through.

The most important thing, when everything's said and done, is having fun. So honestly, if you're upset, talk to me. Let me know if you have input, or ideas on how to add to or change the plot. I'm willing to adapt and change for your ideas.

Seriously, though, any problems just bug me. I really am here to help. And have fun playing in Hinsight!

Things were definitely weird in Konan.

Not to say that they had ever been normal, Mitsukake quickly amended mentally. When you put seven superpowered humans in the same area, things could never be less than weird. But ever since getting back from Sairo Miaka had been acting strangely. Maybe it was because of Chiriko's death; they were all taking it pretty hard. But at the same time, something about her didn't feel right, almost like somebody else was inside her skin. He couldn't put a finger on it.

Well, if she really was different, Chichiri would comment - he trusted the older seishi's insights into matters of emotion much more than his own. Besides, it was hard to sleep when he was dwelling on their miko's emotional state. Everything would be okay. Everything had to be okay. They'd been through so much, if they saw much more they might break. Thank Suzaku they still had their powers...

The buzzing wouldn't go away!

Every time Yui closed her eyes, she could feel it white-hot against her pupils, pounding louder than any drum and more intensely. Every time Yui opened her eyes, she could see the noise bouncing around her, a deranged rainbow of painful lights. Ever since summoning Seiryuu, it had been like this. She wanted to believe it would go away, just like Nakago said, but it hurt so bad she couldn't breathe or think or live.

Everything around her seemed to make it hurt more. The pillows, the doorframe, the walls...they all magnified the buzzing. She'd asked Nakago to take her outside, but the sky was so loud she had practically suffocated. Why could nobody else hear it? They all made it worse! Everybody hurt her. Everybody.

Well, she'd make all the sound go away. She could wish it all away. Yui giggled at the thought - she'd just find the biggest, yellowest dandelion ever and blow real hard and poof!, her wish would come true. Maybe Suboshi would find her one. He was so nice - the sound wasn't so bad around him. But if he couldn't she'd just wish real hard and clap her hands and the gods would make everything disappear, all for her. And then...

Then she could finally sleep.

((Yui's referencing a Japanese prayer - you go to a shrine, ring a bell, make your wish, and clap twice so the gods hear you. I believe ^^; ))
