Its becasue, like Tstar said, the ailens. They were taking over Earth till God steped in and said, " Uh uh,Bish! Step off my planet! " and then he stabed then with a fork and the aliens said " Ouch! Fine! On one condition! " they they threw up something nasty and blue and said " Make the sky this color! " and God agreed.

... it's because of the atmosphere...gases(?) maybe... that floats above(or all around) the atmosphere... neutral (no idea what I'm talking about)
anyway, the story about god and the aliens was pretty awesome 3nodding
