Frozen firelight
I recall you dancing
and knowing I'd not
be for you
Late evening stars
regard me with
their velvet gaze
and you reflected
in those distant
suns become a
memory to me
A stained glass prayer
for the gray photograph
that dust attic
that empty chair in
a lonely dim room
pierced amber gold
in the fading light
fire flares faery-motes
whose snowflake lifespans
loathe the leaving of the sun
in twilight you appear to me
goassamer and golden and
resplendant as the dawn
the touch the kiss the
cinnamon whisper of your
love on mine
A ship tossed
on grief's blue sea
so glorious, so full
of saltspray joy
