Really kind of a second part to Confidence and Paranoia.
I wonder what this episode would have been like if any of the other characters had been 'doubled.'
I think it would have made seasons 7 & 8 better if they had used this option to add another character, as opposed to bringing back the whole crew, and having no holograms.
There's also the question of why, if the system could support two holograms, Lister didn't keep trying until he found Kochanski, or at least someone else to add to the crew.
Who else would you like to have seen doubled? Which pair would have fallen apart the fastest. (I think Rimmer for this one.) Which pair would have lasted the longest? (I think either Cat or Holly.)
Final thought: Rimmer is the crew member to get replicated the most:
Rimmer World
Me 2
Ace Rimmer
Terrorform
Kryten's Rimmer amusement ride
Any other examples that anyone can think of?
Not sure if the Future Selves (Out of Time) counts as doubles, though I suppose it would- that one was for all the characters.
Lister had a double in Future Echoes (the old man Lister). Rimmer had an actual double in the engineering room deja-vu scene. All were duplicated in The Inquisitor.
Stasis Leak showed both Lister and Rimmer as doubles, and Time Slides showed Lister with young Lister. Also, Demons and Angels duplicated everyone. (thanks for that one, OliviaOblivia.
By my count, Rimmer still holds the record as the most duplicated RD crew member!

I love this episode...
the way two Rimmers personifies the way we can irritate ourselves
and the cat goes a-courting...wearing roller skates and carrying a mega phone! classic ^^
(since when have I used words like 'personifies'???? Damn that english exam i had this morning!)
