Please, tell me if I'm out of place with this. I don't want to seem overly presumptuous. Over the last almost-year I've been here, I've noticed a couple of things concerning plot and plot ideas. Usually our plots (at least Tenrai wise) are brought up in three ways: 1. In a chat not everybody in the rp has access to 2. In our heads, where they stay until implemented 3. To only one or two people in private im's This has been happening with pretty big, serious things in the rp as well. I understand and fully take advantage of surprises for other characters. I understand being afraid that your plot idea will be shot down. And I understand that RP is generally pretty spur-of-the-moment, so if you don't post your plot NOW and tell later it'll never happen. I'm just as guilty of this as anybody else. sweatdrop But there have been hurt feelings caused by this and it makes the Happy Fantasy Fun-Time that RP is kinda suck. So I'm hoping that by having a thread where we can put these ideas and our feelings on them out in the open will help. It'll get everybody involved and it'll hopefully lead to more compromise (at least on the major stuff). Here's a couple of things to ask yourself to see whether the idea is major: 1. Does this plot idea affect more than one other character? Example: Opaaru plotting to do/get something nice for Chichiri. Unless she involves Cat or Mitsukake in the brainstorming, or the present itself will end up affecting more than just Chichiri, there's no need to be told about it. However, if Athena or Loki or Hel or [insert god name here] is plotting something for Chichiri, it probably warrants a quick mention ("hey, character X has something planned for Chichiri") because anything the gods do tend to involve pretty much everybody. 2. Will this plot affect the RP storyline itself in a huge way? Example: Cat and Mitsukake breaking up? Well, yeah, that's going to cause some HUGE changes to the RP and probably needs to be mentioned ("Um, Cat's kinda-sorta pissed at Mitsukake...she'll probably want to break up with him"). But Cat deciding she wants to go to a work/school/whatever function and that she'll be gone for a night or two? Unless it's right in the middle of Something Important or Something Important is juuuuust about to happen, Mitsukake's the only one really affected. Oh, as a last request: in here, at least, please mention the characters you play? We all pretty much know each other, but this is just to be sure there's no confusion. Plus, it helps if you're skimming for plot lines that might affect you. I'll start with an idea of my own... --- Mitsukake/assorted OC's (Seiryuu and Athena are the biggies) Tenrai Now currently we're about to depart on a quest to free Seiryuu from his underwater prison near Atlantis. Once the girls "summon" Seiryuu, they lose their godly powers and since Suzaku is gone the guys lose their seishi powers as well. Now, my plot is this: Athena has asked to take over her husband Suzaku's powers. She was granted this and has his powers in a pretty little necklace until the seishi are all dead and she can take over his spot in the heavens. Now Seiryuu not only has no knowledge of this but really doesn't care much - they saved him and he's in debt to them, but he won't throw the balance of the heavens off for them. He wouldn't give a rip, and he'll let them know that there's nothing he can or would do to help. So my idea was to leave them powerless for a couple days, at least until Athena can go "HOSHIT" and get herself to the other world (which'll be harder for her because I already said she doesn't have a lot of magical endurance). This way we get the angst Opaaru and Chichiri seem to enjoy, we get a little bit more relationship development with Mitsukake and Cat, Tasuki and Sam can have a little more relationship development, and Seiryuu can contact Nakago and get all the Seiryuu seishi back in the game with a fun new plot twist that I'm pretty sure 'Kago would love to exploit. Is this a good idea, or a bad one? Does it work for your character? Do you think I'm assuming a little too much with everybody else? The Athena thing cannot be changed now - I mentioned it almost fifty pages ago, and I tried to make it a big deal. This is just how I'm trying to work it in.

Speaking here for Chichiri and Sam
As far as Chichiri's concerned current plots and plans are all in his favor... or rather, none of them are going to either kill him or cause undue emotional trauma. (Poor guy has been through enough over the past year, I kinda figure there isn't much that's gonna make him flinch at this point.) I would, however, like to put out there the fact that I am a writer of fight scenes and comedy primarily. I tend to flounder during angst unless I'm depressed myself, and I have a tendency to repeat myself during romantic scenes.
So, I would beg of all of you that Chichiri and I be allowed at least one good fight scene in the near future. I know he's a pretty easy-going guy and that fighting is his last option, but really, folks. I'm playing the kick-a** mage here. I want to get to use him as he should be used at least once.
If I have to, I will make my own enemies for him... although I'd rather they be supernatural rather than human... since as a seishi humans are kinda a "flick of the wrist you're gone" type of deal.
On that note: When they lose their powers, I do have a mini-plot, but it mostly does just involve Chiri... although Mitsukake might end up being involved as damage control. See... I figure it's only a matter of time before some punk-a** fools decide to try and rob Idyll... so when our monk is lacking in seishi abilities they're gonna. Both parties may get a little beat-up. Although, I remind y'all that Chiri isn't helpless, so let him do his thing.
As far as Sam goes, losing Suzaku's leftover power from her minor escapade (she didn't even make it out the door) as a Fae isn't going to affect her much. She's most likely going to notice feeling a little ... empty ... and that's it.
I don't really have any plots for Sam as of yet... they kinda all depend on whether I can get her involved with the other miko and sei or not. Poor Sam and Tasuki seem to get left by the wayside a lot, and everything bad happens to everyone else (not that Sam's complaining, but as her authoress, well... she's pretty kick-a** too, and I'd like to show that more often).
I'll think about Sam for a bit and update if there are any relevant plots that I can think of.
Oh... Mitsukake, be ready tonight... Sam's gonna getcha. twisted

Does this new plot point of power-losing also involve the 'exorcism' of my Muse friend Euturpe? I'm not going to vehemently oppose it either way, 'cause at this point I figure I'm just along for the ride, having sorta jumped into the story in medeas res, after all; I just need to know if I'll be saying good-bye to Euturpe soon or not. It'll affect how I play up the relationship between the muse and the miko from now on, since, if Euturpe's gonna be gone in a few posts, there's really no reason for me to push my goofy little Chichiri-the-rock-star subplot.

Hey, if Rihga came in in medias res does that mean we get a do-over? xd Kidding. Um. This is more an Opaaru question I think...I know Seiryuu plans on being a nice god for once (actually, he hates debt, but we'll call him nice) and giving them one wish, so you two have something in reserve at least; so Cat could wish for Euterpe to stay around, or wish to be able to keep in contact with her and hear more music, or something. Does that help?

Well as long as we're airing our dirty little plot-secrets ninja
For a few weeks I've been asking Opaaru for the part of Thanatos, and I she said Digital turned down the part so I got him. He'll be a major plot point in the whole free-Seiryu arc. When Cat and Opa attempt to open the door to seiryu's prison using Suzaku's power they'll trigger a booby-trap that will send them into a compressed dimention within the door. They'll have to travel through it to a specific departure point to emerge on the other side of the door and only then will it open and everything be free.
This whole section will really put the bond between muse/fury and host to the test since imprisoned within the door, acting like a guard, is Thanatos, the first god of death. I'm making Thanatos be this twisted being with no sense of wrong or right but rather inherently evil. He takes amusement from causing human suffering and eats souls to temporarily boost his power, hence why the gods imprisoned him within the door. Since only a true deity can withstand Thanato's attacks, the "paranormal hitchikers" will have to help their hosts survive through Thanatos' attempts to take their soul.
Any more details are a little sketchy since I don't know if Rhiga and Opa plan on permanently getting rid of Alecto and Euterpe. Though if by freeing Seiryu they do get rid of them it would be interesting to see the conflict of intrests.
So in conclusion: Thanatos soul-eater BAD, Paranormal Hitchiker insurance GOOD.

Does that help? Yeah, it does. And actually, Hakkai's plotline will be good for that too, 'cause I kinda wanted to have Euturpe stay around at least for a while, and Cat's getting a little attached to her and the music, too. So if they had to fight together against crazy death god man, that would strengthen the bond even more and encourage them to stick together a bit after the Seiryuu incident.
Well, while we're talking plots,
I don't really have anything specific planned with Euturpe yet, but I do think that, the more she's with Cat, the more Cat is going to realize that she wants to keep writing and composing music - maybe not necessarily for Chichiri, but definitely in general. And Euturpe's also taken a liking to her, so... it might mean a career change for Cat. 3nodding I don't see this affecting anyone much outside of Cat (and maybe Chichiri, but that's only if he wants to go along for this ride, too).
Also, since who knows when Chiriko will show up, I hope we can get Yuri into the story soon. Just, wherever you guys decide to go first (and second) for Mitsu' b-day, she'll probably be working there. And she might recognize the seishi, since her friend Lydia made her watch a LOT of anime as a kid. ^^ So that might be fun, too. If anyone else has any ideas for her, let me know.
...I might change my miko status to Suboshi, if we need more Seiryuu peoples, too. I have to talk to someone before I decide that for sure, though.

Oooooh, I'd love a Suboshi around! Ami's being a right little angst-muffin without Shun to whap him upside the head. Only if we can find one though.
Your guys' ideas sound awesome! Nah, you can have Thanatos, Hakkai - you're much better at the meaningless evil than I am. All my evil characters are a bit like corrupt politicians, in a way; I can't play without a purpose. sweatdrop
Currently Mitsu's plan is to head to the pier that Opaaru mentioned (seeing as most of Konan's pretty land-locked, he's probably only seen/been around an ocean a couple of times); there's a few restaurants nearby and a couple of small novelty stores. Since it's basically a tourist trap anyways, sky's the limit on where Yuri works.
I'm really excited now 3nodding !!

Well, Hakkai's Thanatos idea sounds wonderful, but... anou... is there any way that the seishi could be occupied with something beyond angsting and worrying about their miko's sudden disappearance? Perhaps Thanatos could have some minions or something...? I would gladly write my own opponents, as long as it's insinuated that they should be there.
Also... as far as the Chiri as a rockstar plot goes... both he and I are intrigued. Therefore... FULL STEAM AHEAD! Although he might find the fangirls disconcerting. xd

Ooh! I got an answer to that! See I'm making Hel's scythe be Thanato's old weapon so originally there was going to be a private showdown with Thanatos trying to break free and Hel keeping him back and the scythe trying to go back to Thanatos a la Lord of the Rings. Maybe then Thanatos can summon minions like Rachel said or something since his old weapon's outside and he's locked inside.
YAY CHICHIRI THE ROCKSTAR!!! Now I have an urge to doodle him in punk gear. xd What would Miaka think?!

Ah yes... a Sam plot that I've had brewing in the back of my head for a while involves another junior at her high school asking her to junior prom, despite the fact that she's no longer going. He's going to be one of the more popular kids, so she's going to be a bit dubious about it...
...but will most likely go. I don't know how many people this will affect, or if I will ever do it, but it's something that might end up happening.
For some reason... I just really want to get Sam into a prom dress.
Must be my sadist side acting up. twisted

Something I'm going to implement today RP-time, but it's pretty important.
The hourglass? It's gonna break, one way or another. Which means that Mitsukake's soul goes bye-bye. However, Hakkai already said since he plays the demon of death, Thanatos will be taking good care of him. Mitsu shouldn't die completely.

Geez, Digi, you said that so nonchalantly, as if it wasn't going to HUGELY EFFECT EVERYTHING! Well, if that's the case, then Cat is likely going to have a mental breakdown. Things have gone crazy for the past two days, and that's probably going to tip her over the edge. Which means Euterpe might just have to take over completely for a while... which could lead to more problems than any of us really wanted... Hoo boy. This'll be interesting.

Well, the easiest way to get information across is bluntly, right? Eh heh...
I'm weighing pros and cons now. Poor Cat's probably going to kill Mitsukake for all this crap, but on the other hand, having the insurance of him being there for the girls' "fight" with Thanatos could be helpful. They still need to meet Yuri and it could put a serious damper on things, but on the other hand if I play it right it could be a way to get to know Yuri better and incorporate her in our merry band. It could completely destroy CatMitsu which I never really wanted in the first place or it could bring them closer together...

As an advocate of less angst... ummm... destroying Cat/Mitsu would throw us into a huge angst spiral. I mean, seriously, everyone would be all "WTF?" I know you and Rihga are capable of not making it angsty, Digi, but would it be realistic if it weren't? Are we worrying about realism in this RP?
On a lighter note... there's an idea that's been kicking around in my head for a while, mostly because I feel like all of the real-world surprises have already been sprung on the seishi and turn about is fair play (not because I'm more comfortable writing in Konan-terms with the seishi, oh no... *cough* >.>; )
What if something happened that sucked the seishi and miko back into the Universe for a while? Would that even work? I know that the whole idea behind the plot was that if the pieces of the scroll are put back together they go home (right? Am I wrong about this?) but is anyone really paying attention to the original premise of this RP anymore?
If this happened, I have a few ideas, some of which one miko in particular might be happy about. ;D
Anyway... that's my two cents about future things. XD;

I'm sad to hear that.
domokun Domo-kun is sad too.
But hey, if you want them to break up, then we could probably make it happen. A situation like this could certainly lead to it, at least. Of course, I'm in agreement with Jun on this one: Angst = :XP:, gonk and stressed , so if this has to happen, then we'd better try to avoid the angstness... which is already going to be hard with Mitsu's soul going bye-bye for a while.
I'm debating what Cat will do when that happens... I imagine there will be a lot of yelling and crying at first, but past that... I know earlier I said Euterpe would take over, but the more I think about it, Cat is a really strong person. She might react with a more hostile "We're getting him back, NOW" attitude than a "Waaaaah angst!" one. sweatdrop But we'll see when it happens, I guess.
Going back to the book world would be fun, by the way, if it's possible. As stated earlier, I'm mostly just along for the ride in this RPG, so whatever happens, I'll work with it as best as I can.
