Well it seems that this Sub-Forum has yet to have been put into use. So, here's an idea for you guys.
It has been from my experience that people enjoy making a character, and evolving that character as time progresses. The character gains personality, grows stronger, learns better fighting moves and so on. Most RP's I have noticed however are very constricting in terms of what characters a player can use. This is something that irks me. i want to be able to use whatever type of fantasy creature, or robotic war machine that cames to my mind biggrin .
My proposal, to boost activity in the guild, as well as produce an environment where a player may use whatever character he or she chooses, is to make a Guild RP. It would be an adventure type thread, based around every player searching for something. Like a treasure hunter sort of roleplay. Each week we could add something new to the list of treasure to be hunted. the treasures would of course have to be some sort of magic item that would further enhance any articular character's arsenal, personality, or just add something flashy to their appearance and history.
Some rules though.
Characters would not be allowed to kill eachother off, but setting clever and harmless traps would be allowed.
Stealing the object from another player after the player his aquired it is also not allowed.
One item per week, and after that week is over, the item is removed form the list and replaced by a new one 3nodding . This rule would be in place to keep people active.
Players can search as many times as they like 3nodding . To sustain continuity from veterans.

I always chose the a*****e vote, don't take it personally. I ike the idea, but as far as participating, its not my kind of thing. it is good though.

T-kun I rather like your idea. It think it's good. I do something similar with my characters in general unless I say become a part of an RP in a totally different subforum section such as Barton Town, then the history and everything for my character usually changes to suit whatever RP I'm now in.
A few questions I have though is, what kind of environment do we wish to set for the players in general? Are we going to limit them or let their imaginations run wild like I generally do in say my Tavern for instance?
Now I disagree with the stealing part, but I think we can easily make that work. Both players must come to a terms of agreement for the steal to occur, if it is not approved by both parties it does not happen and if it does by the one person wishing to steal the said item, then it is obviously not counted.
With the list of items it might be nice to create two lists. One list for past items and of course a list for current items.
Is this more helpful to your research T-kun?

I like the list idea. The stealing idea would work I suppose, but perhaps we should make it where you can only steal an item from somebody who acquired one in the past already?
As far as Environments go, I would come up with a new set of environments each week to suit the new item, and the NPC's that people will need to contact to find clues about the item.

So players can't steal a brand new item unless it has become a past oriented item?
I think the idea on the environments suiting the hunt sounds like and excellent idea. That just makes things more creative I think for players.

No. Players wouldn't be able to steal from somebody who has not acquired a past item. Only veterans who are retrying would be the ones getting stolen from. :3 So new players can't have their first treasure snatched away.

Righty-o then. I guess the only thing left to figure out before I start working on anything is if we are going to have enough participants for this to be worth-while.

We will have to simply see. I am trying to do some more guild invites to get things lively again. It would be really nice if the Admins/Mods/Etc/whomever could get the whole guild group newsletter e-mail system thing up and running. *mutters curses over not having her simple group notification system*

I agree that this is a great concept. Changing environments etc. weekly is good, so it can become more creative and appeal to a larger crowd as well.
I think another thing that may be a good idea (or perhaps just unnecessary sweatdrop ) is to create smaller, interest based RP forums hosted by the guild and keep them as stickies. Members would be welcome to create their own RP or join in with the guild role play of their choice. The RP website I take part in running hosts a forum for a large guild role play, but provides the option for more private member created forums. It allows newer members to walk into an almost always active forum, meet new people and then decide whether or not they care to take their role playing into the smaller, member based forums. I suppose it can be good for breaking the ice for less well known or newer members. Having the guild RP stickies could also provide an unchanging role play for those interested in the theme. We could have various themes, that way if the alternating environment and theme of Talutah's role play doesn't appeal to some, the smaller guild based role plays may.
This idea may be a bit redundant, because Talutah's idea may very well serve the same purpose. I'm just throwing it out there. :3

Umm...either I just need to re-read that again and try and process it again for a second time or more, but I'm not sure I entirely followed all that. I'm really not stupid, seriously, just sometimes my mind doesn't process things near as well, because I have a standard typical philosophy that I even apply to my RPing for the most part and just about anything I do, keep it simple. So is there a possible way we can resummerize that in simplier lamemans terms? sweatdrop

-Blush- Sorry! I guess I kind of went overboard trying to explain it. xD
The idea was mainly just having the guild crew create Rolplays to stay as stickies for members to use if they dont want to go into the roleplays of other members. We could have a few different stickies to host a few different themed roleplays.

For the next few weeks or so I probably wont have much time to work on anything related to my initial idea with my current work schedule. It should calm down once they switch me to third shift though 3nodding

Okay, now I think I follow, much better this time. Oai, if any changes are going to be made this is going to seriously affect our subforums. Hmmm....And then what to do with subforums not in use is the other question. This brings to mind the question of 'Should the Intermediate and Advanced Subforums of roleplay be reconverted so as to be one for Guild Oriented RPs and the second one for Guild member RPs or no'? I don't know right now.
Talutah, that's fine, we all have lives outside of Gaia and people must understand this in order for us to really kind of live. RP is just fantasy, it isn't our real lives, sometimes I think people lose sight of that. Anywho, that's my two cents for the day.
