Ticket Information
*Please note that this applies to JAPAN only because U.S. post offices have no connection with Japanese post offices. If you live outside Japan, you need a friend in Japan to do this for you.
Price: All Standing for 4900 yen / drinks not included
General Sale: Sunday, June 24th
enquiries: Call Back Stage Project @ 03-3357-8080

*This time's tour has no venues with age limits.
*Note that the previously mentioned locations at Yokohama on 7/17, Fukuoka on 8/6, Osaka on 8/9, Sapporo on 8/23, Sendai on 8/26, and Kichijoji on 8/31 have no responded to organizers, so take heed that the rest are the remaining locations. Still though, by popular demand at the above 6 locations, those that wish to go can enter a raffle. Those that lose the raffle will have their money refunded 10 days before the general sale. If this is the case, please understand that you must send a 700 yen handling fee beforehand.
*Please refrain from making phone enqueries regarding the raffle results.
*If you're in the fan club, because the FC gets to purchase tickets earlier and will already have their ticket preparations, please avoid making duplicate applications for tickets.

How to Apply for a Ticket
At the post office, use the provided blue bank deposit blank form to enter the necessary information, and include the payment for the tickets through bank transfer. (Using express mail, telegraph, registered mail, and money order are not advisable).

Translator's note: Although I'm writing this for you in English to help you, when you're filling out the form, PLEASE fill it out in Japanese. Print out these instructions if you have to, but I'm going ahead and assuming that you know what your full name and address look like in Japanese.

Bank account number to send money to (口座番号): 00150-0-569616
Name of party you're sending it to ( 加入者名): 仔雅連合 (Komiyavi Alliance)
Amount of money (金額): Ticket price (4900 yen) x How many you want + 700 yen shipping
In the comments section ( 通信欄) provide:
1. Performance day & performance location (I think if you copy the all caps names for the performance locations you're fine, but the counter for months is 月 and day is 日)
2. How many tickets you want (there's no limit; this is the counter for tickets: 枚)
3. Full name
4. Home address
5. Home phone number (自宅電話番号) and for those that have one, your PHS or Cell Phone Number (携帯電話番号)
6. Write "HP先行" (Home Page Priority)

Acceptance Period
Postmarked starting on May 31

Enquiries about HP priority
Call the Komiyavi Alliance (仔雅連合) @ TEL.03-5355-0784

Important Points
Please carefully read through the entire procedure.
*If there's a mistake on the form or in the amount of money given, you can be repaid.
*If you use one form to apply for tickets at multiple locations, your money will be refunded, so take heed.
-Use only one form per performance. If the performance date changes, please request a change in your form.
-Despite the fact that we ask for a standard charge of 700 yen for shipping, please be aware that different post offices will have different charges for shipping.
-If by any chance (lit: 1 in 10,000 chance) there's an overselling of tickets, the tickets will be given out by raffle and if there's a mistake in your form, you will be at a disadvantage. Those that lose the raffle will be refunded 10 days before the general sale date. In that case there will be a handling charge of 700 yen.
-If there's a mistake on your form, you have to leave a notice by phone to the Komiyavi Alliance so they can take note of it, but you have to take measures to cancel the form transaction yourself because the Komiyavi Alliance isn't coordinating that (you and the post office are).
-Tickets will be recorded as delivered approximately 2 weeks prior to the performance. Only if you have not received your tickets by 5 days before the performance should you make an enquiry into the status. Even if you haven't had a reply, if it goes past the date of the performance, you cannot get a refund. (So if you're missing your tickets, you have to be dilligent in trying to contact them until the tickets show up or you get your money.)
-If you change your address after sending in your application, please contact the Komiyavi Alliance immediately.
-Please store your receipt for the bank transfer carefully until you receive your tickets. On the off chance that you don't receive your tickets, proof is needed to verify how much money was involved.
-If there's a change or cancellation after you send in your application or if you lose your tickets, the Komiyavi alliance is unable to reissue your tickets (So make sure you're sure of everything you do, contact them immediately if you change addresses and try not to lose your tickets!)
-Your reference number for the receipt of your form has nothing to do with the raffle (So please be aware that just because you sent yours earlier or you have a lower number, it doesn't mean you'll get a ticket through raffle).

Who is he?
He is the former guitarist from Due le Quartz known then as Miyabi. He was in the band from June 1999 to September 2002 when the band eventually broke up. Shortly after that, he announced that he was going solo and changed his name to Miyavi. His first release was his album "Gagaku" and then two singles "POP IS DEAD" and "Shindemo Boogie-Woogie" which followed shortly after with PS Company serving as both his manager and label. In October of 2004, he made his major debut on the UNIVERSAL Music (of Japan) label with PS Company remaining his management. He's made a great amount of improvement in his music and singing since he embarked on his solo career, and he'll only get stronger as he continues on as a major artist.

Biography
*This is a mixture off both the bio info from Night in Girl (which has now officially closed down) and the Official website O-re-sa-ma bio pages.

Official name: 雅-miyavi-
(Note: It's recently been changed to 雅-miyavi-様 [Miyavi-sama], but because the stroke count looks bad, that's been put on hold for now.)
(Note2: To advance into overseas markets he's called himself ''MYV'', but he's kind of given up on that for now)

Occupation: Singing and dancing guitarist

Birthday: September 14, 1981

Horoscope: Virgo / Pegasus*

Birthplace: Nishikujou, Konohana Ward, Osaka City, Osaka Prefecture, Japan

Hometown: Kawanishi-shi, Hyougo-ken (On his official website though, he remarks that it's "kind of like half" in reference to his half Korean ancestry)

Blood type: AB / Indecisive

Height: 183 cm - 185 cm (About 6''1'; depending on time, place, and occassion)

Weight: Bandam, the weight of two feather weight champions.

Hobby: Napping, wearing female clothes

Special skill: Oresama (not the film; but this is his reply meaning himself and it's also a kind of "attitude" where you're kind of conceited and selfish although he isn't really and is actually a really nice guy in person)

Eyesight: Has a weakness for sweets (only now he's prohibited from eating them)

Hairdo: Kitarou Hair / Kobochan Cut**

Shoe size: The size of his heart

Ring size: Sorry, he doesn't know

Favorite tobacco: Pipe (literally; he actually refers to the stick thing he uses to help him quit smoking)

Favorite food: Chocolate cake, inarizushi, chicken, and of course, sweets.

Least favorite food:
Broccoli and tomato juice

Favorite drink: Protein

Favorite type: He especially likes females.

Favorite color: Lately, it's been an absurd pink (Probably like the MYV☆POPS cover)

Favorite People: Muddy Waters / Keb'Mo' / Raul Midon / Preston Reed / Keziah Jones / Savion Glover / Chris Cunningham / Magritte / Basquiat / Brian Warner (AKA Marilyn Manson) / Maeda Keijirou / Kan san / hide / Fujiike / Kicchomu / Gorugo 13 (in no particular order)

Favorite brand: John Galliano / Dress Camp / Don Ed Hardy / LeSportsac / Miyavi Goods / Room No. 382

Favorite guitars: Gibson J-45 1956 / National Style-O / Rainsong JM1000 / Killer flying-Y (Oh man, Miyavi Engrished here and called it a "frying-Y")

Favorite trunks: Playboy

Favorite sunglasses: Christian Roth

Favorite fragrance: Yvessaintlaurent Baby Doll / Dior addict

Specialty: Guitar

Not Good At: Singing (He's concentrating/determined with it)

Favorite Motto: "Trouble?...I don't really have one, but if you force me to say it, I'll have a lot of mottos and that'll be a problem."

*Pegasus refers to another "horoscope" like thing. I''ve seen other artists call themselves this as well. I think it''s referring to this thing called CharaNavi. Nowadays the term refers to something else, but a year or so ago it referred to this horoscope-like system that helped people find the kind of jobs they were suited for or something.
**Miyavi references two different manga to try to describe his current hair style. Click the links for pictures of the manga.

Note on this track: I'm iffy about the reading because initially he had the song titled "Kabuki BOIZ" and then he changed the spelling slightly to "Kavki BOIZ" and now he's put the title in kanji and seems to want it to be read in Japanese like the Japanese reading. It all basically means the same thing, but what the *actual* title is has me confused right now.

Three types of this single are to be expected just like in the previous singles prior to "Kimi ni Negai o". First press will reportedly get a poster and Types A & B of course come with DVDs.

For all three versions of the single, you have a chance to go on a trip to go see a public performance in Korea. You have to be in Japan to enter though because you have to enter by phone either by accessing the site or calling in. There'll be a slip inside the CD case with a number on it and further details. Basically it's a drawing and you enter it for a chance to win the trip. There'll be 4 winners and they'll be going on the trip in pairs. Applicants need to have a passport beforehand and should be over 20 years old (the legal age in Japan). For those who are minors, they need parent/guardian permission *BEFORE* they enter the contest.

While there will only be 4 winners, all applicants who enter will get a song for a present (which appears to be the 3rd track of the regular edition). You can enter from June 19 - June 27 at midnight. The winners will be announced on June 29.

#6. Girls, be ambitious
#7. Ashita, Genki ni Naare

*Note on the title. The Japanese language does not actually utilize a "v" sound anywhere in it. Usually in katakanized form, a b sound is subtituted for a v, so the title should actually read like "Kabuki Boys", but Miyavi was being creative and messed with the lettering.

**Note 2: On the previous preliminary tracklist, Ippiki Ookami Ron was listed, but now it has been removed. Could this mean a future surprise?

The limited edition version comes with a DVD. What's on it is not known. The songs listed appear to be songs that have been released before, but apparently remixed to Miyavi's most recent style as of the 5 Day live this past fall (Tap, Turntable, MC, Drums, etc.) Also, whatever's on the DVD and the special "present" for those who get first press of the regular version seem to be pretty interesting. The people that get the first press of the regular version will have a raffle entry form enclosed with their mini-album that could win them a chance to preview a new song Miyavi will be releasing in the fall. Further details as they come out.

DVDs
These are aside from the DVDs that come with limited versions of the singles. The ones that come with the limited edition singles are just the PVs of the song(s) on the single.

This live was rather special because it was more performing art rather than a rock concert. The following is an excerpt from the English version of the site that officially describes these lives:

For Miyavi to start 2007, The last and the only live performance in Japan "5days in TOKYO Geijutsu gekijo" at 9/18 has picturized. A state to play is the best part which Miyavi energetically plays guitar with the original solo style, performance collaborated with a tap dancer, percussionist, human beat boxer, turn table player, GigPig drummer, and also a Japanese drum player.

This is an entertainment art article of surprise to give all any people regardless of age or sex surprise and satisfaction. The first press has 5 luxurious privileges of extra contents including documentary film and more. Please enjoy the musicality and possibility of Miyavi who breaks a frame of Visual Kei Rock.

First press editions came with a poster of the cover.

Wagahai
ISBN-4-8401-0850-1
-A photo essay book with pictures of Miyavi during the shoot of Oresama, hanging around town (with other people), hanging out with some kids, going to malls, and other things. The essay portion of it is mostly Miyavi's commentary on previous parts of his life like when he was home, his first love, people important to him when he was a kid, his time in Due le Quartz, what it was like to go solo, etc. An inspiring read for those who can read Japanese although it has little more than a reflective connection to the photos seen in it.

It features photos of Miyavi in Paris, France and comes with a clear file (a jacket that preserves the artbook). Most of the pictures feature Miyavi in several different outfits in various parts of France with different angles and shots. Some shots were even taken with a soft focus lense so they have a very smooth and ethereal feel to them. Other shots are extremely detailed and you can clearly see the freckles on his face. Some of the pictures going to the shops and buying himself his own birthday cake and celebratory items.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Q. Where can I buy stuff?
A. Look in the links section. On May 22, you can also look on iTunes.com for Miyavi's major albums.

Q. How do I join his fanclub?
A. If you're overseas, you can't sign up. Although supposedly there are sites that can give you a fake address to use apparently.

Q. If I buy a Miyavi DVD, [Oresama, Hitorigei, Hitorigei 2, Hitorigei 3, limited edition DVD, etc.]. Will it play in my DVD player?
A. Yup. All of Miyavi's DVD's are all region. When you get the DVD, check the back. You'll notice that the shop didn't bother to change the info on their website, and the logo there is clearly marked "ALL".

Q. Where else can I get stuff or even more information?
A. Google. The links section, and the rest of the thread provides a TON of information so you shouldn't have much of a problem.
Q. Where can I get a piecing like Miyavi's?
A. You can most likely get someone to pierce it just by asking, but the earring can be found at:Jpophouse. It is expensive though. It is rumored, however, that the types of piercings Miyavi has aren't uncommon and you can get a good gauge sized one by asking whoever is doing the piercing.

Q. Isn't Miyavi hot? (Or some other statement or question similar to that)
A. Of course, [I find] He's one of the sexiest, adorable men to walk the earth. Althuogh, please don't just post about how 'Hot' he is, we would like to have a real conversation please <3
Q. What's Miyavi's real name?
A. Miyavi doesn't really want his real name spread around anymore... so it's better not to look for it.

Q. But didn't he use his real name in Oresama?
A. Oresama was pretty sketchy. Alot of things were different in that movie.

Q. I read his last name in an issue of Fool's Mate though. What's he trying to do?
A. Yes, strangely enough Miyavi seems to be alright with people knowing what his last name is. I suppose the logic behind that is that his last name is fairly common and as long as you don't know his first name, it's okay.

Q. Where is the info about his Korean last name?
A. It's actually also in the November 2005 edition of ROCK AND READ magazine.

Q. What does PS Company stand for?
A. If you look at the logo it says both "Phalanx of Swashbucklers Company?" and "Phonetically Syndaclism Company".

Q. Can I post pictures?
A. Actually, there is a seperate topic on it, feel free to post there. Only four pictures per post though please!

Q. Can I post fanart/winamp skins/wallpaper/icons/banners/etc that I've made?
A. Of course, but there is another topic for it smile

Q. Can I still be random?
A. Sure, just make sure it isn't completely on the other side of the universe from Miyavi talk [this IS a Miyavi forum after all ^^;]

Q. Your discography says that track 4 of Miyavizm is "Pop 'n' Roll Koushien (Baseball)", but isn't it Dappunroru?
A. No, it isn't. Some site somewhere made a mistake in their katakana and a lot of people who can't read Japanese took that for truth and it spread like wildfire with people writing "Dappunroru" on their pages and mislabeling songs. The correct katakana for it is "Poppunroru" which basically turns into "Pop 'n' Roll". How someone can get a po (ポ) and a da (ダ) mixed up is beyond me though since they're completely different >.<

Q. Your discography lists Aho Matsuri with only that as the title, but doesn't the title have two parts to it in both kanji and katakana? And some places list the title as "Ahou Sai -Aho Matsuri-"
A. Yes, but BOTH still just say "Aho Matsuri". Technically, the kanji should be correctly romanized as "Ahou Matsuri", but the subtitle in katakana "Aho Matsuri" acts like furigana for the kanji in that it *TELLS* you how to read the song title and what the title is. Writing the title twice or even rewriting "matsuri" to its other kanji reading "sai" is actually an incorrect reading.

Q. I was reading the bio of Miyavi you have up and who the flip is Muddy Waters?
A. Muddy Waters is an American artist from the Chicago Blues scene during the 1960s when a lot of African Americans moved into urban areas for work. The Chicago Blues scene is regarded as the roots of Rock 'n' Roll as when bands such as The Beatles and The Rolling Stones came out, they were trying to make music that was reminiscent of Muddy Waters and other artists related to Chicago Blues.

Q. I read your instructions for purchasing tickets in Japan and I was just wondering, what is a PHS?
A. A PHS ispretty much a cell phone, only older than what's referred to currently as a cell phone (keitai denwa) in Japan. It's basically a portable phone, which translates for us in the West simply as a cell phone, but in Japan there was a whole time when the bulkier ancestor to modern cell phones were called something else. Whether or not the term applied to cordless phones, I'm not exactly sure.

Q. I was reading your translation for the ticket purchasing method for concerts and Japan and I'm so confused! What's up with this post office stuff?
A. The instructions only apply if you're in Japan. In Japan, you can pay your bills and do a lot of bank transactions simply by going to the post office and filling out the proper forms. It seems to be pretty common that artists will sell tickets to their performances through this method or even on occassion sell goods this way.

Q. Can I post about Due le Quartz?
A. Well, you kind of can at least if what you're trying to say pertains more to Miyavi as Miyabi at that time, although there may be another thread pertaining to them later in the future.

Q. Can I post about SKIN?
A. Similar to the Due le Quartz question, this means yes you can. While Yoshiki, Gackt, and Sugizo are also part of the band, I would like to make sure that we keep discussion *RELATED* to Miyavi in some way.

Q. I don't like/hate Miyavi. Can I post here?
A. Yes, but prepared to back up your argument with knowledge of his career, logic, and reason. Everyone is free to express any opinion they have on him.

The only thing that's really happened is that he's on a major recording label, which is a world in which chart rankings and hits matter a lot so he has to write songs that appeal to a larger audience and that explains the discrepency between his major career and when he was Indies. He's definitely pretty popular, but he's nowhere near as influential as other artists like say Gackt, Ayumi, Crystal Kay, or CHEMISTRY.

For a "fun" way to try to get some insight into this, I actually recommend the anime, movie, and manga "NANA" originally written by Yazawa Ai. While not directly Miyavi related, it can kind of give you an idea of the world that Miyavi's operating in although probably not a complete understanding.

Q. I really dislike all the music that Miyavi's putting out right now. Why is he changing? Is he pop now?
A. Well, he's not really "pop" now so much that he's experimenting. Miyavi's a more well-rounded type of artist, so he doesn't really like to stick to one thing too much. That can be a good thing or a bad thing in the outcome of his music because inevitably some people won't like it. However, I think it's important to note that by experimenting, he can probably "open doors" to do something that's unique by incorporating ideas from different aspects of music rather than focusing on what's been "traditionally" so in established music genres. More than just being one thing or another, you can look at the situation as that he's trying to "grow" and the end result may very well be something wonderful that we'll love and deserve that he wouldn't have been able to get to by playing and making the same kinds of things all the time. If people didn't experiment, revolution or even evolution wouldn't occur, so I think it's enough to appreciate the fact that he's trying to take his work seriously and trying to just expand himself as an artist and test some stuff out.

Q. Is Miyavi visual kei?
A. Yes. Visual kei by and large is a subculture amongst Japanese rock that emphasizes look and appearance in a number of ways and Miyavi has *NEVER* strayed away from that although his music style has changed. Visual kei in itself though is *NOT* defined by the type of music the band plays, and thus that is partly why Miyavi can still be classified as such. The subculture itself is very much a fashion rather than musically linked.

Q. I want to send Miyavi mail/packages! Where do I send it to?
A. Send it to his management company's office. This is the address and all you need to do is just address it to Miyavi:

〒168-0064 東京都杉並区永福3-49-11 メゾンデュソレイ101
有限会社PS COMPANY
JAPAN

Romanized form:
〒168-0064
Tokyo-to Suginami-ku
Eifuku 3-49-11
Maison du Soleil 101
Yuugen Kaisha PS COMPANY
JAPAN

If you're really nervous about it getting there, just copy and paste the Japanese address and tape it to your mail. The post office actually doesn't care which form you use just as long as "Japan" is clearly marked on it somewhere. They'll get it where it needs to go after that. You should note that you probably shouldn't expect a reply back because Miyavi is a busy man, but if you send him like clothes or something it's been reported that there's a chance you might see him wearing it or something one day.

Miyavi's Joining a New Band! - Thank you Pumpkin/Orgasmic Generation!
Orgasmic Generation
He's thinking of joining a band.

New comment.

Miyavi video translation
He said he's back in Japan, and that 300 grams of tenderloin steak, two smoked salmon and something salads, 2 something asparagus, and 200 gram delicious hamburger, but he's not any fatter so no worries.
(I'm not worried at all about fat but look at HIS HAIR AND HIS SKIN! ouch)
He said that he has something he wants to tell everyone, but not in a text, rather in a comment, in person, right there as he's tired, as he's wanting to tell everyone.

He said it's been four years since his old band broke up, and he debuted as a soloist in 2002. Being in a band was amazing, as it was said in magazines as well, but it didn't work out and he had to go solo. And now it's been four years, and it's all thanks to everyone. He said he's really feels that from his heart.
He said he thought that soccer and being in a band were over for him, but that next year, he's thinking of being in a band, playing guitar. He found an amazing guy (older than him), and he thought he'd like to try screaming in the background once again (laugh), so he hopes we look forward to it.
He can't say who's going to be in the band yet, but he hopes that they can in the new year. He's sorry for making everyone, especially Comiyavi, wait for so long this year, so that's why he decided to make a comment.
But of course, he still wants to continue his solo act as a solo artist, so he wants everyone to look forward to it.
He said he'll be working on pre-productions and he's thinking about going back to Los Angeles again, and he knows everyone's going to miss him but he's still going to play guitar, doing neo-visualism.
(Miyavi deshita.........)
Oh and he's going to make sure that he can write Japanese in his journal again.

On Saturday of Jrock Revolution during the middle of Miyavi's performance, he told the audience that he had something to tell them and had us screaming "What?" like "What is it?" Then a video sequence played that showed information about Yoshiki's band and announced Miyavi as the 4th member. After that he invited Sugizo of Luna Sea out to the stage and they jammed together for a song. Yoshiki came out after that to talk more about it and announce that their first performance would be June 29th at Anime Expo. He also told everyone that Gackt couldn't make it, but said "Hi". Ironically *AT* the concert, Yoshiki told us everything except for the band's name.

Anime Expo then reported the news on the website and posted the band's name (THANK YOU AX FOR BEING ON THE BALL!). Ticketing for this event is expected to be the same as the rest of the concerts AX has which is usually through the Main Events arena thus being a ticketed event in which you need both a con badge *AND* a ticket to the event. AX ticketed events are given out differently than for any other concert or anything you've been too before. Those who stay in the Anime Expo block at official hotels will get a voucher which allows them to trade in for ONE (1) TICKET to ONE (1) of the main events whether it be a concert, masquerade, AX Idol, Anime Music Videos, etc. Please note though that rooms for the AX block in the official hotels have *ALREADY* been sold out since before the announcement. The second method is new where you can pay for premium tickets before June 15th. Premium tickets have not yet gone on sale. The last method is to wait in line and 2 hours before the event they will be handed out. Once you get your ticket though, you won't have very much to worry about with people cutting in front of you. The last few years AX has *ALWAYS* color coded their tickets meaning that a ticket is colored to allow you to sit in ONE particular section. There might be some issue with people with the same color ticket in front of you, but if someone's supposed to sit way in the back and they cut in front of you in line, they *CAN'T* sit in front of you. AX staff will tell them to go to the right colored section and won't let them in through that section. People miffed at stuff that happened at the Wiltern will probably appreciate this. Staff members for AX also tend to be a bit more serious when you cause problems. They can and do eject people from the con if the act too much like a dumbass and when you register for your badge, it's part of their "Code of Conduct Policy". Read it carefully or even for your entertainment. Some parts of it are actually pretty funny. They have a sense of humor.
