The council are a bunch of inbred tools. (Sorry for my terming)
They seriously couldn't care less about the people in our city, just so long as they look good compared to Ballarat. I think the Curfew time is a great idea for pubs and clubs. I know so many 16 - 17 year olds who actually manage to go out clubbing when it's illegal. As for the police, I think they are doing as best a job as they can, but I think the council needs to be a better job.
So yes, I think, curfew is the way to go!

I agree with you both. Our city is full of young alcohol charged hooligans. I no longer go into the CBD after about 6pm, it frightens me. I also think that the council's idea of moving the taxi rank away from the majority of clubs was a ridiculous idea as now the club goers have to stagger, often stopping to vomit, urinate or other on their way to find transport.

I believe that the majority of problems people (who drink the heavy stuff) have are caused by their intake.

Have you heard the latest: a gang of youths, ranging from the age of 8 - 16 hassled some teenagers for cigarettes and their skate board. When they didn't get what they wanted they punched them in the face. Nobody did anything to help them. Later they threatened a 14 yr old with a pair of scissors and demanded his mobile phone and money.

I have a "friend" who consumes roughly a six-pack of Jack Daniel's per Friday night. I wouldn't really call him a friend, but it's better saying that than "I know some complete r*t*rd*d fat f*ck who drinks himself totally sh*tfaced every Friday night and then can't remember what the hell he's doing."

Why is smoking banned in so many places and why are there so many campaigns to get people to quit when alcohol is just as dangerous and has the potential to kill many more innocent people?

Because our planet is run by a bunch of stupid motherf*ckin' gits?

Alcoholism is a very serious problem and should be treated like any other drug addiction. It's a bit more difficult to treat because alcohol isn't illegal, so it's much easier to get a fix.

It may be that the majority of peoples' problems are caused by alcohol. But there are also problems that cause the alcoholism.

I hope you get an opportunity to vote those city leaders out of office. The kind of rampant abuse of alcohol that you describe leads to a spiraling crime rate. It must be bad already if taxi drivers are avoiding the area.

We have a great many clubs in the city center and there is a continuous battle between the police and the club vendors. The police try for a lock out time of 1:30am, the vendors want 3:30am. It seems at the moment that they have agreed on 2:30am.
The council are a bunch of half wits (probably have a deal with vendors) and a fence sitting. Already, there have been protest rallies around city hall calling for their resignations on countless other issues.
