Okay so I love music, but the rock genre specifically. However, it's the female vocal I'm after. I'm looking for recommendations of female rockers if anyone has any. I do prefer a good upbeat or some nice angst. The ones I have so far (so I don't get repeats of ones I have are:
Lennon Murphy
Lacuna Coil (leans more toward female metal but oh well)
Alex Bach
Sarah Bettens
So if anyone has any suggestions of who I should try next, let me know. I'll take pop artists too only if they aren't bubblegum/cheerleader pop.
For those I have:
Melanie C
t.A.T.u
Rose Falcon
Rachel Farris
and a few others but I need some new stuff

Okay so an update on my search. I couldn't find anything but one song on Sarah McLeod. As for the others, haven't checked them out yet. I've been very busy so I only started last night. However, I did discover I had a Tegan and Sara song on my computer and so that lead to my exploration of those two. Love them so it was a good thing smile

I actually got a free weekend to find new stuff.
Tarja Turunen- Still don't care much for her voice... I know it all too well from the few Nightwish songs I did have and I did download some of her stuff...still don't like it and she killed "Don't Cry for Me Argentina". Yes, I love that movie and she killed the song crying
Sharon den Adel- Found nothing on her and still can't. If her sound is somewhat like Tarja's, then it's not what I'm looking for.
Joan Jet- Still can't find anything.
Sarah McLeod- Okay so I've only been able to find two songs from her, but I do love both. Anyone have any similar artists to her to recommend?

Blondie was/is a new age/pop punk sort of band; they've got some really great stuff. The lead singer, Debbie (sometimes Deborah) Harry also did several solo albums. They're one of those early punkish groups that crawled out of the Bowry and started at CBGB's.
The Dresden Dolls are nice, but a little gothic.
Cyndi Lauper is rock when she's not being pop or jazz.

Two more female rockers I found- Marion Raven and Marit Larsen. Formerly known as M2M back in their younger days, they each went solo...definitely LOVE Marion
