This dense forest is located in the Utakata region, a place that was at war within itself until recently. The forest has only one road passing through it, leading to and from Utakata Castle, location of one of the three superpowers in the recent struggle for power, and the one that finally proved victorious.
The forest is practically deserted, as people tend to use the new road that bypasses it. Only one small shack exists, located next to the Utakata river that runs through the land. Here, a local ninja-for-hire that supported the castle in the war dwells and awaits his next contract.
The shack iself is not particularly impressive from the outside, and is in fact appears rather rundown in places. However, the interior shows signs of much life, well-kept and with a well-stocked food supply.

*Shà Hóu sits quietly on his porch, reading some letters delivered to him by falcon.* Nothing much here... *He glances up the path, thinking he heard something.* Hmm, maybe someone's come in person for once.

*Continues walking down the forest path, then after a few minutes reaches the shack in the forest* Hm... I think i got lost here... *laughs and looks around the environment*

*Sets down his pack and starts shifting through it* I hardly ever remember what ive brought with me! *laughs and pulls out an ammo clip from the pack and puts it in his rifle, then sets the rifle down next to him*

*He rubs his chin, wondering what the device next to the stranger is.* (Some kind of projectile weapon, I suppose... Far in advance of the castle's repeating crossbows, I'd say.) *He moves further up the road, crossing it quickly and silently.*

*Clambers up a tree on the side of the road.* (As soon as he passes, I jump down onto him, snatch that device, and hide. Heh, I'm sure that item will help the castle fight evil and protect our country.)

[A young rogue walks out of the man's shadow and move around to the tree the mage is sitting in. She peers up, then looks back at the man, Deciding what she should do. She makes a loud whistling noise and a horse runs to her side. It is a white stallion with a mane of what looks like water. The horse kneels down to let her on and she jumps up. She begins to ride it toward the man on the ground, screaming]
"AMBUSH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
