Nio is where the elves who speak Niora live. It's technically not on the human plane of existence, but every once in a while someone bumbles in. (They don't have very tight security xd )
Nio translates as "earth" or "land", and the suffix "-ra" is used to mean "language of", so the language is literally called, "the language of the land". 3nodding
These elves, or "Niore" (people of the land) have reached enlightenment, but unfortunately, its not as exciting as one may have hoped. As a result of their enlightenment, they pretty much stop caring about life's meaning and just take a care-free, somewhat obnoxious view on living. This is even prevalent in Niora, where the whole point of speaking is to hear your own voice, therefore, to make it more pleasant for others, most words are sung. whee This is also why the word for "to speak" and "to sing" is the same, "solereshi". 3nodding
Anywho, since I'm putting this into a book...someday... sweatdrop , The story is centered around a young vagabond elf who doesn't beleive that she has really reached enlightenment. (After all, what she's seen is pretty anticlimactic. whee ) She sets out to the human world, or well, more like their plane of existence to wander and find what she calls, "Kisai me Ipe Ero", or "True Enlightenment" by observing how simpler species live.
And that's pretty much it. 3nodding
Oh, one other thing. (That I thought was a brilliant idea, if I do say so myself. cool ) The elves in the community have combined thier magick to create a forest in which every kind of fruit, vegetable, and edible root grows. (Kind of like the garden of Eden, come to think of it...) After reaching Enlightenment, a collaborative desicion was made. Instead of trying to inform other species(aka the humans) of Enlightenment, they built this forest so they'd never go hungry. (That's more important anyway. whee )
And that's that! What says you?

Homurakitsune The story is centered around a young vagabond elf who doesn't beleive that she has really reached enlightenment. (After all, what she's seen is pretty anticlimactic. whee ) She sets out to the human world, or well, more like their plane of existence to wander and find what she calls, "Kisai me Ipe Ero", or "True Enlightenment" by observing how simpler species live. When I was reading the part before this, about how they acted once they had reached Enlightenment, I thought, "That doesn't sound very enlightened at all!" Then you mentioned the young vagabond, and I think I'd be quite interested in seeing what she finds. ^_^ Selfishly and frivolously enlightened... the Niore almost remind me of the French aristocrats of Louis XIV's time. Good luck on your story (and language)!
