So do I. Until everything is completely settled and the guild is getting to outrageous... Then we can have a dot com.
See the problem with that is without making listening easy and one click to listen to music. Among letting me be able to advertise a site. G-Radio won't get any bigger.
What I would like to do is find some sites as big as gaia if not bigger that are willing to affiliate with us. Dare I say Neo-pets, or even something else. I don't want to be huge or anything, but back in the day we had 80+ listeners a night easy, and that was considered a slow night.
My concern is that Djs are going to get discouraged, and not want to DJ with only 13-30 listeners. Like last time. Hey I am willing to shell out 100$ a month for our own server. However, I don't want to do it if a) no one is listening, and b) if the DJs don't want to be successful.
These huge webcasters make 1.25 million a YEAR. If I was pulling in that much I could hire you for money. Hell if I was making a fraction of that I could probably pay my DJs.
Again we don't have to worry about rate hikes on the royalites until 2010. By then, I'd like to be able to afford them.
Choice is up to you: Big or Small.
Okay, well, if we get over 40 listeners a day, then I say, we expand out side of Gaia.
When I owned Machineradio.com we had a listener base of 80+ everyday. Not night DAY. Overnight during the autobot we'd have about 40.
I've been saying this sense day 1, we need to find a new listener base. I'm not saying completely remove our selfs from gaia. However, we need to start finding listeners from another source.
I am open to options.
Some options I am not open to is the following:
WoW - They already have radio stations for WoW. Plus WoW is already killing spam bots, don't feel like losing accounts for a radio station.
Other MMOs that have radios. Unless the radio sucks. Then we'll come in and destroy them.
Now the MMO I cam from when doing this was MxO. Which were and are still (somewhat) geared twords the customer. So they allow the spamming of a radio channel in there game. Also was a fairly fun game as well. Had a lot of Matrix content. So something to think of.
We could have some DJs geared twords Gaia and Some geared twords MxO. That way no one feels left out.
Again I am just using MxO as an option. We could use Maple Story, we could use Pirates Online, we could use all of them and call us Gamer Radio.
I'd like to call this collective brainstorming. Lets just start gaining ideas from everyone.
