Just finished timeline by Michael Crichton. Somewhat interesting.. but not really. It's like it was made with the hope that it would be made into a movie. At least it wasn't as far out as Prey... I like my SF to be reasonably plausible!
Anyway... SWEET THE WOOT IS WINNING THE POLE 2 TO ZIP!

I'm in the process of reading "Equal Rites" by Terry Pratchett. It's a relaxed satire of rigid patriarchal institutions and how gender politics are easily transcended by the ungovernable nature of the human spirit or, something like that.
At any rate, it's Discworld, which = hilarity!
I just finished "Shadow of the Giant", the last in Orson Scott Card's "Bean Quartet", which chronicles the life of one of the child-soldiers who saved mankind from an alien threat, and how he helped create a world-government not unlike our United States.
That's all for now, I'll probably update this as often as I can remember to do so. lol
Micheal Crichton eh? I got halfway through Jurassic Park back when I was a middle-schooler, but I think it was a little over my head back then. Maybe now I'd enjoy it more.
I'm not much of a science fiction fan, so Orson Scott Card and Douglas Adams are the only authors I've read. I read mostly eastern philosophy and I enjoy fantasy fiction when that manages to distinguish itself among the countless reflections of the monomyth.
Neil Gaiman is sort of my hero in that regard, as is Terry Pratchett.
"Good Omens" is one of my favorite novels I suppose, which is written by Gaiman and Pratchett.

I am reading the books of the clubs... and the best short stories of 2007 edited by Stephen King, and Seeing Red, and Clan of the Cavebear, and Let my People go Surfing... to name a few...
