Okay, the reason I posted this message was to talk about Rika's family from Digimon Tamers. Has anyone seen the short movie where everyone is going to give Rika a surprise party, but she does not want one. But that's not the point... the thing is that they show small parts of Rika's dad which still is a mystery to me. But what hit me when I watched the movie, was that Takato calls Yamaki the cool guy with the blonde hair, and Rika kinda gets jealous or mad about it. But not in a jealous way that you are my boyfriend, if don't like, I hate that guy. Well anyway, they show Rika singing while being controlled by the bad digimon and they show her dad (but just half of his body), and then he is leaving and Rika gets sad. Then there are other parts where Rika's thinking about her dad, and then they show her mother sitting looking all sad, like she remembers something.

Well my conclusion is this one that Yamaki is Rika's dad and that he left Rika's mom to do his research on digimon. Rika, in this movie, kind of knows that Yamaki 's her dad but gets mad about it because he left her and her mom. And she has a big grudge against him.

I just wanted to get this thing out of my head and talk to you guys who understand digimon. So any comment is welcome but no offensive comments, this is just a thought so is not real please.

I think I understand what you're trying to say...

Most people who have seen that movie believe that her father is dead, but if you watch episode 47 of the series, she says something about him still being alive.

As to your theory about Yamaki beigh her father: I very highly doubt it. They would have said something about it somewhere along the line had it been true..
