Time: Some time before Shangri-La opens, in the afternoon. Setting: Outside Parin's house in the garden. Parin could only sigh as she wondered what was going to happen to Shangri-La. In her garden she sat at her round glass patio table and slowly sipped her drink of root beer. She was trying to think of how she could get people to come. She thought everything was going to be okay, that everyone was going to come as soon as it had opened.
It seemed she was wrong.
Again the blond let out a long sigh, her untidy hair covering her eyes for a few seconds before she blew them away. Her brain, although almost never used, was kicking into high gear. It's rusty gears slowly starting to move and become active. Ideas came, ideas went. Mostly went.
What could she do to get people to come faster? To hurry the transportation from whatever world the people were to Shangri-La?
The questions played over and over in her head. Like a broken record, repeating the same few words than screeching back into place. It was starting to anger her deeply. She was never good at things like this...

Kexia wandered aimless through Parin's house. The aimlessness had come sometime after she had searched Parin's a few times. But her search had harvested no results.Which was why she was treading all over Parin's living room floor , entertaining herself with ideas where her friend might have ended up. Once in a while, she would mutter a profanity about the lack of her friends existance in her own house. She paced back and forth in front of Parin's couch. "Parin, you ditz! Where are you?" Kexia called out.

Faintly, Parin could hear the familiar voice of Kexia, her best friend.
"Kexia?" Parin called out, standing up as tall as she could thinking it would make her voice travel father. "Kexiaaaaa, where are you!"
Parin had lived for many years with Kexia in Shangri-la. To tell the truth, it was all Kexia's idea to create the wonderful place. She trusted the girl with all her heart, and would never let anything come between her friendship with her. Even if they were from very different family's and their fathers often fought (Parin's father being a high angel and Kexia's father being a great dark being, fights were BOUND to happen). Their friendship had withstood a long time, maybe 200 years?
With little effort Parin found her friend pacing in front of her couch, seen though the large living room windows that opened to the garden. It was a blessing that she had such a wonderful home with so much light and warmth in it. It wasn't big. But not small either. It was made just for her though. That's why she liked it.
"Yoohoo, Kexia! Out here!" Parin said, waving her hands crazily to her friend.

Kexia heard the loud voice , and sighed as her temple gave a small throb. Parin was probably the loudest of the people she knew. Then again, she didn't know very many people. 'What if there were louder people out there?Louder then Parin?' She could feel her head throbbing at the thought. Kexia shuddered. Definately a head coming. Parin was still waving like a maniac at the other side of the window. Why didn't she look out the window in the first place? 'Thats right, its way to bright in here.Especially near that window.' She thought. 'Not at all like my nice little tower...' Kexia lived in the forest. It was suitably dark in there. If it was to dark for reading, she could just light a candle. After all , it was easier to add light then take dark away. Kexia sighed once again and turned towards the window, squinting. "Hello, Parin." she called out as she raised her hand in a halfhearted wave.

Climbing up the stone steps to the wooden door that led to the living room Parin had made it inside within seconds. She had almost tripped taking her sandals off because she was going so fast.
As soon as she was in the house though, she made her presence known.
"Hey Kexia," Parin exclaimed "go ahead and make yourself comfortable! Sit on the couch, take off your shoes, let down your hair!" The girl giggled happily.
She was quite glad her friend had come along at the time she did. Kexia was a great problem solver! Parin had never been really 'smart' smart, she excelled in creative things, feelings, and cooking. Things she was taught to be while in Angel School. Kexia was always the smarter one. She was always the one solving problems for her and making smart decisions. Parin respected her for that.
'Maybe the place where Kexia is from has a special school like mine..' Thought Parin. 'I bet she was in an advanced class.'

Kexia grimaced at Parin's loud greeting. "Do you have to be so loud, Parin?" , she questioned, taking a seat on the couch. Once comfortable she settled right into the problem. "Parin, no one's here yet."
