HistoryOn Wings Of Myths
The warm air still lazily drifted throughout the sky. The sun had said it's final goodbyes to the land and all was tranquil. This time of day was a favorite of the younger hippogriffs. All felt like rebels staying up later then the sun, and they often teased him about it. As the stars began to shine brighter and brighter, many families nestled into their homes and drifted off into the land of dream, where anything was possible. Night time was the perfect time for the eldest hippogriff to practice his magic without being disturbed. Being blind, he wore a cloth bandanna across his eyes to shield his psychic senses from that of the tiny physical ones, now barely visible. After rapidly blinding as a young hippogriff, the Eldest learned to harness powers far stronger than that of an untrained Hippogriff.
FLASH!
The Eldest jerked his head to the northern sky in fright. What seemed to be a simple bright shining star at the beginning of the night, was now a death trap rapidly hasting towards the land. In fear of the others' lives, the Eldest screamed in fear. If this comet crashed into the wood, many a life would be lost! Quickly, everyone arose from their slumber to find the stunning star hurtling for the land. In fright, the clans ran from the forest seconds before the Comet left a devastating mark on the land.

In the center of the fire storm, the blind Eldest stood alone. For the comet had not actually killed him as expected, and he was not floating off into the heavens. He felt hot, the warmth from the blaze had danced around his body. Although he was hot, he stood still in shock. A fire-like egg lay at his feet emanating strong wavelengths of power, immeasurable and incomparable to his own. Gasping for breath, the Eldest opened his mouth, but only managed to utter the remembered truth.
 "...Phoenix..."
