A battle is made up of many posts, with several steps within each post. You should think of each post as being about 3-5 seconds in the battle. The only thing that could really effect this is talking and other such narration, but thoughts themselves tend to be rather instant, unless long-winded. Nonetheless, keep it in reason; if there is a fireball streaking down on you, you won't have time to say a paragraph and then act. While fighting you want to be as descriptive as possible, to be both professional and to give insight to your character's emotions, reactions, movements, and strategy. You are trying to show creativity and you also want your fight to be interesting, like a story. A single post is made up of the following:

1. Response Phase (Here you dodge attacks that were aimed at you, as well as use certain jutsu)
2. Setup Phase (This is where you prepare an item or a skill)
3. Main Phase (This is where you use almost all of your attacks)
4. Loss Tag (This is where you post how much Health, Chakra, and Stamina you've lost over the course of the battle.)
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

~Response Phase
Before the players turn, if they were attacked, they get a Response Phase. Generally, this is a reaction to an attack or action that an opponent has made that affects your character. This is where you see if you dodged or not, perform a jutsu or action in which reacts to an attack or action an opponent makes, etc. You may use a technique here to counter or dodge the attack (Ex. Body Substitute Technique). During the Response Phase a player can choose to...

1. Take the attack without rolling.

For example, say Kabuto attacks Naruto, Naruto refuses to dodge, so Naruto takes however much damage Kabuto's attack does.

2. Roll to see if they dodge/ block.

For example, say Kakashi and Sasuke are sparring, Kakashi uses a Katon on Sasuke. Kakashi's Accuracy is 100, while Sasuke's evasion is 200. Whenever a ninja attacks another ninja, their chance to hit starts out as 50%. They then add their accuracy mod to the attack, so Kakashi's modifier would be 25. That brings Kakashi's chance of hitting Sasuke up to 75%.

However, Sasuke's evasion is 200, so his evasion modifier is 50%, so he gets to subtract 50% from the 75%. Kakashi's chance to hit Sasuke is now 25%. Sasuke rolls the d100, if he rolls anywhere between 1-25, he is hit by Kakashi's attack. however ,if he rolls a 26-100, he isn't hit at all. If Sasuke rolls a 1, it's considered a critical hit, and he takes double the damage. Accuracy caps a 90%, so at most your accuracy can go up to 90% in each attack and no further.

3. *Use a technique or jutsu to dodge/ counter the attack or increase dodge.

For example, lets say Naruto throws a kunai at Kakashi. Kakashi may use:

Name: Kawarimi No Jutsu
Rank: E
Type: Ninjutsu/Taijutsu
Chakra: 15
Damage: N/A
Effects: Dodges one E-Rank Jutsu or Basic attack.
Description: Replacing his or her body by using Kawarimi on a nearby object, the ninja swiftly flees and dodges the attack.

He dodges Naruto's kunai strike, unharmed.

*You can only respond properly to attacks aimed at you, this goes for multi-ninja battles. You can, however, jump in front of an attack aimed at a comrade. You roll a 20 sided dice. If you roll above a 16, you succeed. Anything below a 16 is a failure. You may not block or otherwise dampen the damage you receive, unless a specific jutsu is performed or some other exception has been made; you simply take the damage and all effects of the attack instead of them.

For example, Kakashi goes to finish off Zabusa with his Raikiri. However, it's Haku's turn before Zabusa's, he rolls a die and gets a 18. He is instead hit with the Raikiri instead of Zabusa, and takes all of the damage from the attack.

~Setup Phase~

The Set-up Phase is the point during the battle in which you may prepare yourself for combat; this comes after a Response Phase (If there is one) and is before the Main Phase. In the Setup Phase, you may do ONE of the following:

- Use Items (Medical items, scrolls, etc.)
- Draw/ Pick up a weapon or item. As many as logic will allow, you can't pick up more than one item at a time, unless they are very small. This also only counts for large weapons. You do not need to use the Set-Up Phase to draw a weapon smaller than one-half of one's body, but anything larger must be drawn during the Set-Up Phase
- Put Away/ Drop a weapon/ item. As many as logic will allow, you cant stick a sword in a kunai pouch. This also only counts for large weapons. You do not need to use a turn to put away a kunai, shuriken, etc. If it is a Large or Medium Weapon you have to use a turn to put it away. ie : large scroll/ Katana.
- Activate a bloodline that requires activation unless stated that it takes up the whole turn.
- Inscribe something onto a scroll.
- Move from "short range" to "long range" OR "long range" to "short range"

~Main Phase
The Main Phase is the point during the battle in which you take action. You may spend it to move towards a target that is not within your circle of reach, take an offensive action, etc. During the Main Phase you may do ONE of the following:

- Use a Ninjutsu, Taijutsu, or Genjutsu technique
- Use a scroll technique
- Use regular attacks (punches/kicks). The amount depends on your ranks....
Academy Student- 1 per post
Genin - 2 per post.
Chuunin - 3 per post
Jounin - 4 per post
Kage - 5 per post

- Use weapons. Max of Small weapons(shuriken, needles, etc. is....
Academy Student- 1 per post
Genin - 2 per post.
Chuunin - 4 per post
Jounin - 6 per post
Kage - 8 per post

- Use Medium weapons.
Academy Student- 0 per post
Genin - 1 per post
Chuunin - 2 per post
Jounin - 4 per post
Kage - 5 per post

- Use Large weapons.
Academy Student- 0 per post
Genin - 1 per post
Chuunin - 2 per post
Jounin - 3 per post
Kage - 4 per post

NOTE- Thrown weaponry uses a different formula for mods. For every 20 in BOTH speed and taijutsu, each thrown weapon does +5 damage.

NOTE--Base Damage for Physical punches/kicks,etc. is 5 Base damage, as well as your taijutsu modifier.

For example, say Lee goes to attack Sasuke with two punches. Each one of his punches does 5 damage, plus his Taijutsu modifier, which is 400. This means both punches do 105 damage each (not including Sasuke's endurance mod)

If you attacked your opponent in any way during your Main Phase, you must put a damage tag after the Main Phase. It should have the damage you will do to the opponent if you hit them, given their stats and your stats. It should look like this....

[5 (punch base damage) + 100 (Taijutsu bonus) - 10 (Enemy Endurance bonus) = 95 damage] x2(How ever many strikes there were)
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
~Loss Tag
At the end of every Post you have to post your Loss Tag. This should look that the example below and show your loss of HP, Chakra, and Stamina for the turn. Even if you did not loose anything in any of these stats you must still have it.

IE.)

HP:-0
Chakra:-0
Stamina:-0

STAMINA COSTS--

You will use Stamina whenever you perform an attack of any sort that is physical. If you use a Technique, you lose the amount of Stamina it costed. If you throw a punch, you lose 1 Stamina per punch. If you use a weapon, you use Stamina equal to 1/10 your Taijutsu Stat total.

CHAKRA COSTS--

You will use Chakra whenever you perform a jutsu of any sort. The cost required to perform the technique is how much Chakra you use in the attempt.

For example, say Naruto decided to create two Kage Bunshins this turn, each costing 50 chakra. At the end of his turn, he would put:

HP:-0
Chakra:- 100
Stamina:-0

Signifying he lost 100 chakra altogether this turn.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

~Starting
To start a battle with someone you must talk to them before. In the very first post of the actual battle you post all your stats except HP, Chakra, and Stamina. This is so you can calculate damage and effects. You do not post your 'Tank' stats (HP, CHK, and STM) because you get to keep these secret from your opponent. The person with the highest speed goes first.

During your first turn of the battle you do not get a response phase, since you haven't been attacked, and you can not attack your opponent in any way. During your first turn you can do anything, as long as it doesn't affect your opponent, such as...

- Use Items (Medical stuff, scrolls, w/e)
- Pull Out/ Pick up a weapon or item. As many as logic will allow, you cant wield 3 swords.
- Put Away/ Drop a weapon/ item. As many as logic will allow, you cant stick a sword in a kunai pouch.
- Activate a bloodline that requires activation.
-Use a jutsu that does not affect the enemy at all

After each ninjas first Main Phase you may attack regularly.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
~Ending
A battle is over when one of these three conditions is met.
1. A player runs out of HP. In this case you are either dead or severely hospitalized. Admin decides.
2. A player runs out of Chakra. In this case the player passes out and is hospitalized for x days. Admin decides.
3. A player runs out of Stamina. In this case the player passes out and is hospitalized for x days. Admin decides.
4. If a player forfeits and you stop attacking them. No one goes to the hospital. Remember, battles outside of the actual RPG, as in practice battles and spars, do not have the consequences.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
~Multi- Person Battles

When battling with a lot of people you must take ORDERED TURNS. So if there are 4 ninjas in a FFA (Free for All) This is how it goes...

Ninja 1
Ninja 2
Ninja 3
Ninja 4
Ninja 1

Note that Speed is still in effect; the Ninja with the highest speed still goes first, the second highest second, etc. HOWEVER, you may not, even if you have x10 the Speed of everyone else or just one person, take more than one turn per post

For example, say Naruto, Sasuke, and Sakura are fighting Kakashi. Kakashi's speed is 400, Naruto's is 200, Sasuke's is 150, and Sakura's is 100. Kakashi attacks first, then Naruto, then Sasuke, then Sakura.
