Welcome and Staff

Hello everyone and welcome to the guild. I understand that some folks are going to be extremly confused about the lay out of the guild, so Lady Within and Lord Changeling have worked very hard to create this reference thread so you will all be able to find your way around.

Staff
Dean Damian (Lord Changeling) : Damian's past is a mystery shared only with his younger brother Esoi. He is the one who runs the Academy, though rules it would possibly be a better word to describe it. Damian is a very determined fey with a strict code he adhears to and expects others to follow his example. He brooks no none-sense and will not hesitate to toss a fey out of his Academy, exhiling them and in short denying them the education they need to perfect their magical skills. (While Damian is a Demonic Fae, no one is aware of this, a extremly strong glamour conceals his wings, making them appear as basic fae wings)

Esoi (Lord Changling) : If Damian is the representation of all that is orderly and strict in the world, Esoi seems to be the exact opposite. Chaotic and not at all shy of speaking his mind or acting out, Esoi seems almost completly ruled by his passions and willing to flick the middle finger at all the world...and the school...and his brother... However his view of the world, Esoi has been granted a few classes at the school... though it's a sure bet he teachs them the way he wants to and plans for his next class the way he plans what pair of socks to wear tomorrow. (While Esoi is a Demonic Fae, no one is aware of this, a extremly strong glamour conceals his wings, making them appear as basic fae wings)

Taleeah (NPC) : A glimmering fey with a personality to match, Taleeah takes great joy in teaching her selected classes. Perky, frisky, and flirty are the best words to describe this energetic female. She can normally be seen lounging in the school pool when the weather permits, or in the observatory peering through the farseeing crystals.

Basic Rules

  1. There will be no flaming, trolling, or just hating others in this guild. This guild is a place to enjoy your pets, and I will not tolerate anyone trying to bring fights into her. Either I or one of my mods will warn you if you start to either talk badly about someone or pick a fight. This will be your first and only warning. After that, you do any sort of fighting with any person agian and you will be banned from the guild. We want this place to be for fun, not to have it closed down because people want to bring personal things somewhere where they dont belong.

  2. Please show respect to everyone in this guild. Everyone is a person, a human being, and there should be no reason for anyone to be shunned or anything. The staff the most, they work hard to get these pets out to you, so there should be no body who believes they are better than them while in this guild. What staff say is law, and if it isnt, feel free to report it to the headmistress, but she might not decide to consider it an issue.

  3. All Gaian rules and TOS apply here, because even though we are not in the forums, this guild still is on the Gaian database, and we need to respect their laws.

  4. Follow the rules and you will have a good time here, but if you see anyone breaking rules, staff and members included, feel free to pm Headmistress Adriel, and she will look into them. We want this to be as enjoyable as we can make it, and that means a firm set of guidelines for both staff and members alike.

Owner Rules

I and any of my staff have the right to change the rules to fit for any cases that might come up that have a good enough reason to be banned from.

  1. Fei's will not have a manditory RP schedual, though we ask that you show up in the thread and post in your journal at least once a month. It is not our responsibility to remind you to post, nor is it out responsibility to give you warnings or even get in contact with you about your lack of participation. If you are having problems, going away, or simply having RL issues then you are responsible for finding some way to get in touch with Within or Changeling. If you remain inactive for too long your Fei may lose their dorm room to someone new, and they will not qualify to grow to their next stage until you have managed to meet the requirements.

  2. There is to be no killing of any pets, yours or your friends, this is unacceptable and just ruins the whole RP. If you try to kill off your fei, you will be banned and they will be re-sold for an undefined price.

  3. Show everyone respect here, yes Staff get auto respect, but you need to respect other gaians, even if they are new. If you have been here for months and see someone who is new and confused, help them out, dont shun them.

  4. Do not Flame this shop, if you do, you will be asked to leave so you can cool off, but if you continue you will be banned...

  5. For RPing there is no god-moding, powerplaying, or any thing of that sort. We work hard to give you a solid foundation of what your character's powers are. So if you never heard us give you a power, do not use it. If you have any questions concerning the use of your power PM someone, do not assume. It's embaressing to be told after you post that what you did was wrong.

How do I Grow my Fae?

Unlike most shops, it is only the stages of Wand to child that happen automatically. After that...you have to meet certain Minimum requirements and fill out an application for your fey to grow.

Wand to Child Stage: 1 Week (Most, if not all, Fei will be edited and colored after the Wand Heart and Wood has been selected. This is for the sake of adding original elements to each Fei. A week at least is needed for all the editing and coloring to be completed.) Also during this time the Personality Card will be provided so you can begin to plot out your Fei's archtype.

Once your fei reachs child stage, you have all the time on Gaia to play them and have them grow in your own time frame. However, when you wish for your fei to gro from child to Teen, you must fill out the following application and PM it to Lady Within or Lord Changeling .

Teen Growth Application
Fae Name: (This is to help me find your Fei XD)
Basic Update: (What has happened to your fei from the time it grew into a child and to this point? Keep it as simple as possible so I'll have a easier time getting through it all.)

Likes: (Over the course of time what has your Fei discovered they like? Keep this limited to four or five things at most.)

Dislikes: (What has your fei discovered they don't like? Again, keep this limited to four or five things at the most)

Hobbies: (Has your fei found something that they really like to do in their spare time? List it here and now. Keep it short so I can fit it on the personality cert!)

Adult Growth Application
Fei Name: (This is to help me find your Fae XD)
Basic Update: (What has happened to your fei from the time it grew into a teen and to this point? Keep it as simple as possible so I'll have a easier time getting through it all.)

Likes: (Has your fei's likes changed? List any changes here.)

Dislikes: (Has your fei's dislikes changed? List them here.)

Hobbies: (Has your fei's Hobbies changed? List them here.)

Skills: (Has your fei discovered something they are good at or have decided they wish to pursue as a profession? List it here but keep it simple for space reasons.)

What exactly are the Fei stages?

Wand: Though this item is simple in appearence, this wand is the key to finding out just how a fei will turn power-wise as well as personality-wise. This is like the baby stage of all creatures, and this stage is the weakest a fey can be in. A sense of magic permates the wand and those who are sensitive to it can tell with a touch there is something potently magical about the wand. Please keep your wand away from any Despell or Disenchant effects. sweatdrop

Child: At last your fei has manifested, and in its hand is the wand you started with. This stage is when a fei starts to go to training school, and will begin to learn standard spells and powers that the fei race is in tune with. It should be noted that fei can only learn fei magic and no other type. At this stage all a fei can do is cast low level spells, though the most studious and determined may be able to learn medium level spells. Please keep in mind your fei can only learn fei magic, and if they become expelled they can not learn any sort of magic beyond what they have already gleaned during school sessions!

Teen: Congradulations! Your fei has advanced to the next stage. They now are physically and mentally prepared to learn medium level spells, and with some effort some higher level ones. Teen fei are given the opportunity to involve themselves in minor quests and will find a few more options avalible to them. After all, they aren't kids anymore and have to become prepared for life ahead!

Adult: The long road has been walked, but not finished. Your fei is now an adult and has the ability to learn the highest levels of spells if they are committed enough. On top of this, they are allowed to leave the school and seek out their own paths in life. Be it going home, moving into the nearby fei village or...hmm..well there are rumors of a army being built in the mountains but thats just a rumor. Your fei also has the opportunity to create other fei if they have enough time and patcience!

Familars

Currently there are four different sorts of Familars that a Fei can summon and/or tame. Each Familar type is a stand alone pet, meaning you can play them idependantly if you so wish. Familars do not grant Fei any special powers or abilities outside of what they already offer. Each is governed by it's own set of rules as well.

Breena: Can not be summoned. Their eggs are purchased or found, and upon hatching they become loyally bound to whatever being hatched them. Breena may bond with any creature, including other Familars or pets from other shops.

Fairy Dragons: Must be summoned through a ritual. Fairy Dragons may choose whether or not to accept an offer to become one's familar. Once bound, Fairy Dragons prove to be extremly loyal, but will not brook abuse.

Frogs: Are created via postions and mixing a frog egg with certain components. Frogs are not exactly 'loyal' unless they want to be, but they will remain with their bonded for life.

Katzaie: Can be called much like Fairy Dragons. A ritual is performed and Katzaie may or may not answer the call. If they do then they automaticlly become a familar to the summoner, but they are not actually bonded. Katzaie are fickle creatures that can leave when they so choose and in some cases may even view the Fei as -their- familar.

Wand Elements

Selecting the right wand can be the most essential influence upon what type of fey if born from it. The type of wood plays a crucial role in determining the type of demeanor your fey has, as well as what type of magic they will be the most effective in.

First is the natrual element of the wand. These are the four we are all familar with. Earth, Wind, Fire, and Water. The type of element that the wand is most aligned with, will determine the basic nature of your fey.

Quote:
Fire: Your fey is very bold. When it comes down to doing something dangerouse and potentially exciting, or the same old boring thing, this fey most often will choose the former. This fey will determin for themselves who they are, and is more prone to try to be the leader in most situations.

Quote:
Earth: Your fey is steadfast. If something doesn't work the first time, obviously you need to try again. When it comes to being a leader or a follower, your fey usually chooses to be neither and act as the mediator. When all is said and done, your fey wants what is said to be well done.

Quote:
Water: Your fey is aloof. Your fey is less concerned with what other folks think of them, and believes that others should be more interested in what this fey have to say about the rest. Whether something is right or wrong doesn't concern your fey, what matters is how they canuse it.

Quote:
Air: Your fey is secretive. Getting all the facts about your fey is like pulling teeth from a vampire. They simply don't want to give it all away. They will let you know only what they have to let you know, unless of course they decide to tease you with a bit more.

Wand Foci

Elements aside, there is a secondary attribute that all wands have, a focus of magic. In essence, certain types of wood are good for certain types of magic. Some woods are good at more then one kind of magic. When you select your wands wood you may pick (If there is more then one option) one of the focus's of magic, but you can have only one focus!

Quote:
Green Magic: Your fey's strength lies in healing magic and protection. Hex-Breakers and Healers are often what these fey are called. Counter Curses, Poison healing, wound healing, and wardings are only a few examples of the types of magic your fey will have a easier time grasping and casting.

Quote:
Fortune Magic: Spells that draw money and luck tend to be the sort this fey is more gifted at. Finders are what these fey are sometimes called, for their good fortune in finding lost items, whether or not it was theirs to begin with or not.

Quote:
Moon Magic: Divination and illusion magic are the strongest talents of your fey. Being able to read someones fortune is often times a very hard magic to control, but fey with a focus of moon magic have a bit of a easier time with it.

Quote:
Sun Magic: Pure Raw POWER! And Love....oddly these two magics appear to have a lot of connections. A fey with the focus of Sun magic finds casting love spells a snap, as well as helping to ease grieving hearts when they want to be charitable. Not to mention the fact that any spell that has the word 'boom' or 'devestation' in it tends to have a lot more oomph when cast by this fey!

Quote:
Star Magic: A uncertain magic at best, Star magic doesn't so much as use the fey, as the fey uses it. Star magic relies upon the emotions of the caster to power it, and give it shape. Wish granting is often the term given to Star Magic, though it is the magic that decides how a wish is answered, and not the fey itself. Ever hear the term 'Careful what you wish for'? Star magic is completly benign and some even think it may be sentient for there are times when it actually refuses to grant what is being asked for.

Quote:
Soul Magic: Creepy is a term usually used for those who are gifted with Soul Magic. This type of magic allows the fey to call up spirits of the departed for various reasons. Usually this is a magic shunned by most fey and looked down upon because the act of useing this magic rips the spirit from the plane where they belong and in essence enslaves them to the will of this fey.

Quote:
Elemental Magic: The name in essence says it all. This fey's powers tend to come easier when dealing with the raw elements or calling for elementals to do their bidding. With their power stretched out over all four elements they don't really seem to excell as much as other fey do in their foci, but due to the fact elemental magic is the hardest to master, they definatly have a easier time of it then the rest.
