Basically, this is where you ask for help if you're not sure about osmething in roleplaying, or just writing in general. NO WE WILL NOT DO YOUR HOMEWORK FOR YOU. Some basic starter tips, though: Punctuation lets us breathe. If you don't put any commas, periods, etc., the sentence makes no sense, and the reader is not allowed a chance to take a breath. Without punctuation, you WILL KILL the reader. (No, not really, but, still...)
CAPITAL LETTERS. I cannot stress this enough. I understand if perhaps you didn't hold shift long enough and forgot by mistake, but remember: names are CAPITALIZED.
Never, and I mean NEVER switch from third to first person (or vice versa) in a post. EXAMPLE:
Quote: "Leave me alone!" He shouted at his friend. I mean, wouldn't you be upset, too?
A lot, at least, and as well are each TWO words, not one. So, basically, alot, atleast, and aswell aren't words.
When adding suffixes to verbs, most commonly the suffix -ing, there are certain rules that apply. The key ones that I want to mention are that a) If the verb ends in an e, you take off the e before adding ing. Example: dance -> dancing.
b) If the verb ends in (and I don't think this is the only one) p, add another p before adding ing. Example: stop -> stopping.
MORE TO COME. Questions welcomed and encouraged.

I do the person switch from time to time because I type how I think and it would take wasted amount of time if I check every post for that... (and it takes me long enough to post as it is) But I don't do it very often. I'll try to catch it when I'm typing though. I also switch verb tenses from time to time but once again, it's not very often Everyone needs to watch for verb tense. Take this example... Roleplay "Leave me alone!" he shouted at his friend before turning his back to the boy. He didn't want to see his face after all those lies had been told to him. It seemed like his whole life had suddenly become a lie. You Should Not Reply... "I did nothing wrong," Tyler says, running after his friend. It was stupid that the other overreacts the way he does. There is no point in crying over spilt milk and it seemed to be the case here. Okay, children, who can tell me what's wrong here? 1. The roleplay was set in past tense and the response was in present tense. 2. There is some past tense mixed in the present tense 3. The past tense is in a sentence with present tense Now let's see how it should have been done... I Get A+ in Grammar "I did nothing wrong," Tyler spoke, running after his friend. It was stupid that the other [had] overreacted the way he did. There was no point in crying over spilt milk and it seemed to be the here. btw, the "had" wasn't needed so I put it in brackets. The had makes the sentence weaker but some people like it there. This also goes for "that" in most cases.

PLURALIZINGPlural (adjective)plu'ral 1. Referring to more than one.grammar having a grammatical form that refers to more than one person or thing 2. Concerning more than one.concerning, involving, or made up of more than one, or more than one kind of, person or thing Okay. Most things, to pluralize, you just add '-s.' Add -s Frog -> Frogs Plate -> Plates Pen -> Pens Sometimes you add '-es.' If the noun ends in a 'y,' you have to get rid of the 'y' and add '-ies.' Add -ies Lady -> Ladies Body -> Bodies Story -> Stories HOWEVER that is only when the 'y' at the end of the noun has a consonant (any letter except a, e, i, o, u, or y) before it. If there is a vowel before the 'y', you just add '-s.' Add -s to y Toy -> Toys Bay -> Bays Key -> Keys If a word ends in an 'f,' you take away the 'f' and add '-ves.' Take away 'f' and add -ves Wolf -> Wolves Dwarf -> Dwarves Scarf -> Scarves And then, there are always the wierd ones, which you just have to know. The wierd ones Man/Woman -> Men/Women Person -> People Sheep -> Sheep Fish -> Fish(es) Die -> Dice AND THESE ARE JUST A FEWIf you have any questions, ask me, or just google "plurals" or "pluralization" http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/Category:English_plurals Might be a little confusing to navigate, but... meh.

Great Examples of What NOT to do Whilst Roleplaying(Note. These aren't exact quotes, but are based on similar posts with the same mistakes) Quote: *i walked around bored then found a person* hi *i waited* WHY AREN'T YOU TALKING TO ME?! *i hit them when they didn't tell me why* I'm not sure where to begin here. In no particular order. Capitalization and punctuation. Do you see any? Aside from the outcry, I don't.
I am utterly SICK of seeing people roleplay using *this* and/or -this-. It is in no way literate, and is an insult to roleplaying.
"found a person." Believe it or not, this is one of the best, if not the best way to get yourself ignored in a roleplay. Nobody knows which person you are talking about, so they won't respond, in case they weren't the person you were talking about.
The author of the post assumed that the person they were talking to would ignore them. Doing such is very similar to auto-hitting, which I will deal with in a moment.
AUTO-HITTING. The scourge of roleplayers worldwide. To put it simply:
Incorrect He hit the other boy in the face. The author didn't give the other person an opportunity to defend themself.
Correct He aimed his fist at the other boy's face and sent it flying forwards with all his strength No contact yet. There is still an opening for the other person to defend themselves, or get hit.
If I was to say what I hate most in roleplaying, it is FIRST PERSON. Even if the author is amazingly literate, I will be completely offput if I see usage of the first person. The whole point is that you are not yourself, you are another character. Say if I was roleplaying as Bob. I am not Bob. I may be omniscient to Bob (meaning I know everything he thinks and does), but I am not Bob. I will never be Bob. I never have been Bob. So, I beg of you, third person! It may be the decider on whether or not you stay in this guild!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I may have missed some points on the above example. More examples to come.
