What kind of ending would you want for the Animorphs and Ax? Would you change what K.A. Applegate did at all? And from where would you start?

Well, first off I wouldn't have killed off Rachel, thus sending Tobias into a spiriling pit of despair.
Second, I definately would not have ended the series the way she did! (Don't get me started on how stupid a decision her ending was, please)
As to how I'd end it...I'd have something or someone save Rachel at the last moment.
Um...(it's been a while since I last read it, considering I desired to burn it...instead I donated it...) I'm not sure how I'd handle the relationship between Cassie and Jake, though if I had to pick an Animorph who had to die, I'd probably pick Cassie, no offense to those Cassie lovers. KAA was hinting at it for a long time, after all.
I find it interesting that Ax was made into a Controller through the weird being whose name escapes me. However, I would have developed an ending to that beyond "Ram the Blade ship". I also would have avoided a letter "explaining why I ended the series thus" rolleyes I'd probably do something with the Ellimist(sp?) or Crayak.
Other than that, I'm out of ideas. I'll edit this if I think of anything else.

xD I'm not sure what I would do actually.. Maybe I would have Rachel die, even though it would break Tobias's heart. >< I can't really imagine her living in the free world, changed though she has become.
I think.. I would change the way Jake becomes though, along with Ax becoming a controller ><

ahh, it's ok. I downloaded the anibase thing and read everything about the book except the book, but thankfully i alreay knew she dies but thats all i know about it... and some new aliens and stuff...

gah, i totally didn't download the anibase, and i dont know if its there anymore...0_o...
but if it had been me, none of them would have died...maybe cassie if at least someone was gonna die...but...
tobias and rachel would have gotten together, marco and his family happy, ax happy, jake and cassie together....
the ending was kinda creepy and irritating with Ax as that weird controlled thing...0_o...

And, yeah, the whole Ax controller thing was just weird...and the ending was stupid. And inane. And vapid. And...I suppose I should stop talking about how much I hated the ending of the series that went on for like three years or so! AND THE STUPID "this is why I ended the series thus" THING!!! GAH!!!!!!!!!!
I'm ok. I swear. I won't go out and kill KAA with a flame thrower, no matter how much I want to. And I really, really want to.

I definantly would have kept Rachel alive, maybe even save Tom. The whole Ax-controlled-by-The-One thing would probably stay, but even I could come up with a better ending than "Ram the Bladeship"! I read an alternate ending fic once and the person had changed just about everything except the final sentence (which prompted me to flame even though I dislike flaming.... sweatdrop BUT IT WAS DESERVED I TELL YOU! scream ....hey look, I'm ranting again! blaugh )

^^;; Wow.. can't believe they did that, changing everything but the last sentence, I think.
We should.. do a roleplay where we rewrite the end xDD
..although I think she did end it pretty well, with the exception of..the new enemy thing <.<;;;;

I have a completely alternate timeline rp going, but it's kinda stuck...I just don't know what to say, exactly...
Otherwise, I could always start one...Just say the word and a few well-thought-out ideas and yeah sweatdrop
Otherwise, it'll take me a few days to start it. I just got back from vacation-ishness a few days ago, in which my g-dad gave us a scare, but he's doing good, which is great and...not the point.
Point is, it may take me a few days, if you want me to start it... sweatdrop

I would have preffered the ending to have something to do with Ellimist and Crayak.
So... The end of the war, I would have kept (yes, even Rachel dying). I would have kept Cassie and Jake broken up, because they were driving me up the wall by the end of the series.
But the whole thing with Ax, and then going into space... I would have wiped that, and maybe go into an epilogue where we maybe see the Ellimist looking them over, a bit sad over what they had to go through, but happy that he won this battle against Crayak. Maybe have him gloat or something, and then challenge Crayak to the next part of their game.
Last lines would of course have been my favorite saying from the Ellimist Chronicles:
"Shall we immerse?"
"On the other side."

somehow Jake frees Tom.. I couldn't stand it that Tom was never freed! If he was freed, Jake wouldn't've needed to send Rachel to kill him, and Rachel wouldn't've died! Then Jake and the other Animorphs *especially Jake* wouldn't've been so messed up after the war.
The whole Animorph clan is happy and free on Earth: Marco's a famous actor/millionaire/author, living the life with his butler, Cassie's helping out the Hork Bajir and still refusing endorsements from JC Penney, Rachel's a glam supermodel and is having Barbie dolls modeled after her and spending nights with Tobias, the HUMAN tobias, *more on that in a sec*, Ax is spending half his time on Earth and the other on the Andalite Home World, becoming a legend, Tobias, after he won a bet w/ the Ellimist and is now 100% human + morphing powers, is Rachel's OFFICIAL boyfriend, and Jake's hanging out with Cassie and being happy and writing books and being famous.
Happy ending for all!
