Basic story line is that a genetic anomaly has given some people extraordinary abilities though not all would consider these abilities gifts. While some learned of their "gifts" at younger ages most have only discovered them recently. Across the country people like them have been hunted down and disappeared. While some hide for fear of their lives others are just discovering themselves and a few are just trying to pretend to be normal doing anything possible to remain secret. And a very few have started to gather together to find what is hunting them down and take it down before it gets them.

Tarian barely paid attention to where she was going let alone who or what was infront of her as she made her way to her usual table her lunch tray in one hand and the latest book assigned for her English class open in the other. As usual she was reading while she was walking heedless of those around her until she bumped into someone nearly dropping her food, "I'm so sorry are you okay?" she quickly asked, blushing as she looked up from the book, closing it and putting it on the tray.

Lunch time was a great for chitchatting with friends and making fun of what ever it was that they were serving for "food" that day. Althelia was walking across the cafeteria with her lunch tray in front of her as she was talking with her team mate Terry. She was in the process of saying goodbye to her friend and not necessarily watching where she was going as she turned to wave bye. A moment after turning back around and beginning to walk once more she bumped into someone else. Luckily she didn't drop her meal, but it was a close call of getting mashed potatoes on her uniform.
"I'm fine thanks. I'm sorry I wasn't paying attention to where I was going." Flashing her a sweet smile Lia's eyes light up. She had always seen this girl sitting by herself in the cafeteria with book in hand. She always seemed to be immersed in reading of some kind, but never really paid much attention to her otherwise.

"Well in all honestly neither was I. Again I'm sorry to mess up your uniform." Tarian replied semi looking down and offering a napkin to Althelia.

Looking down at her top Lia notices that she did indeed get some gravy on her afterall. It must have dripped down when the tray tilted backwards. Looking back up she moves a dtray piece of hair behind her ear. The rest was pulled up in to the usual ponytail worn on game day. Seeing tha napkin being offered she takes it and starts cleaning her shirt. "Thanks...it's ok. I'm sure it will come off with a little soap and water. It's no big deal. I would say to be a little more careful with where you're going, but seeing how I wasn't looking either..." She pauses for a moment as she notices the book on the other girl's tray. It was off the subject at hand but she thought it might be a good way to get to knowing who the other was. "Is that book any good?"

Tarian glanced down at the book she was currently stuck reading, "Ehh it's not as bad as some but it's not the best either but it's assigned for class so have to read it." she replied, "But I'll let you get back to your lunch. Sorry again," she added turning to head to her normal table.

"Assigned reading never is all that great if you ask me." Maybe this girl enjoyed being a loner but Althelia wasn't about to let her get away so easily. At least not without getting the girl's name first. Being the social butterfly that she is it was in her nature to want to talk to people. Besides Lia figured she could sit with her other friends some other time. Not like she wouldn't be seeing the rest of them later today anyway. Shrugging the cheerleader follows the bookworm as she heads to her usual table. "You don't have to keep apologizing." She sets her tray down at the same table as the other girl, "If you don't mind, may I sit with you...um.. I'm sorry I don't know your name." Looking slightly embarassed at not knowing such a simple thing. It was pretty remarkable that she hadn't at least heard it somewhere from someone.

Tarian glanced up at Althelia as she sat down but just shrugged, "It's a free country I guess. And it's Tarian," she commented as she picked up the book and began looking for where she left off.

"It's a free country..." That wasn't quite the response Althelia was expecting but it would do well enough. At least she didn't object to it. Sitting down to eat her lunch she replies, "It's nice to meet you Tarian. I'm Althelia, but you can call me Lia if you'd like." Normally in a situation where meeting someone for the first time people shake hands. However, seeing that this girl was thumbing thru her book, that wasn't likely to happen this time.
"Although, I suppose you might already know that..." For someone that is used to talking with a lot of different people Althelia was feeling a little out of place with the book worm. She takes a few bites of her potatoes and then sips on her lemon flavored water instead of saying much else. For some reason Althelia found this girl to be intrigiuing. She wasn't sure if it was the mystery of not knowing anything about her that drew her attention to her or what it was.

"Yeah everyone knows who you are. You're are a cheerleader after all," Tarina replied trying not to roll her eyes as she found her spot and started eating one handed as she continued to read the latest assignment.

Ok so the last words that came out of her mouth did sound pretty stuck up, but that wasn't really how she intended it. Great now she thinks I've got an ego the size of Texas...then again she might have already thought that before I stuck my foot in my mouth. Althelia frowns and lowers her fork for a moment as she contemplates what to say to that if anything. "Point taken..." She pauses briefly before speaking again.
"You'd think I would get used to the taste of tennis shoe. Somehow I have yet to learn my lesson. Remind me not to say such stupid things in the future." Hopefully some humor about this situation would win the girl over. Or at least get her to crack a smile.

Tarian just quirked an eyebrow, glancing at Althelia over the top of her book before going back to her reading, not saying anything.

"I've got to get more," The young blond woman in a nurses outfit said to herself while she rummaged thru the Perscription room of the hospital. "Found it, Morphene." Just then she heard the familer voice of a coworker outside. "I tell you Mr. Baldwin, I saw her come in here" It was Claire's voice. Evey pushed herself hard against the back wall clutching to the medecine when the door opened. A Balding man and an older woman stood in the doorway and looked around. "I chould have sworn I saw her come in here," Claire continued. "Well obviously you where mistaken." and with that he shut the door.
Evey steped thru the wall and looked at herself in amazment. "What just happened?" Quickly the thought was pushed from her mind as she held her ear against the door waiting for Clair an Mr. baldwin to leave. Once gone she threw the door open and ran for the elevator. "Im comming darling," She spoke outloud as the doors shut.

Ok... Lia thought to herself. So nothing seemed to get this girl to smile. Maybe she shouldn't waste her energy or time on making friends with Tarian, but something made her want to continue with her efforts. Althelia bites her lower lip while thinking. Perhaps she had already said something else stupid. Not like that was anything new. Well she only had so much time to finish her lunch and so she began eatting again. After a few more minutes she decided to ask, "So what class you have after lunch?"

Tarian rolled her eyes behind her book before sighing as she marked her page and put the book down, "History same as you.
