Dumont.
Dumont is a big city, easily able to be compared to New York. It's actually sort of around that area. Skyscrapers, bumper to bumper traffic, dark alleyways, a good dose of crime and gangs, and of course, a use for computer hackers. This is how Sam made her small fortune. People are constantly wandering the streets. It doesn't seem to matter what time it is. Those who drive are often held up in traffic, so its easier to just walk, joining the river of people on the sidewalks. Roads are all lined with buildings, ranging from every type of store or restaraunt you can think of, to residential buildings. Every other car seems to be a taxi. At night, the buildings light up with the glow of neon signs. Some even have large television screens, advertising.

Sam's house.
She lives in an apartment building, but a pretty nice one, meaning its clean, not crowded, and not run down. It's got two bedrooms, one for Sam, and one for her dad and step-mother. There's a kitchen with a dividing wall that leads to the living room. Each bedroom has its own bathroom and shower.
Sam's room is kind of odd. She's put a lot of effort into making it dark and creepy. She even got herself a black and red coffin to freak out her step-mom. It sits off to the side, propped against a wall. She does have a bed though, queen sized, with black and white sheets. The walls are black and so's the carpet, and black curtains often cover the windows to block out the light. There's candles everywhere, but there is a light and ceiling fan for when she doesn't feel like messing with them. Her closet isn't filled with clothing. Instead, almost every bit of space is covered in computer equipment, with a small area in front of the main computer where Sam sits. She couldn't leave it out in the open or her dad would've found it even sooner! She does have her laptop that she takes everywhere with her, out on a grey desk that's set against a wall. There's a dresser where she stuffs all her clothing, with a side part that has a space to hang up clothing like her dresses and skirts.

Kate's house.
Kate actually lives above her dad's mechanics shop. It's mostly for cars. In the back of the garage, and the side of the building, there are doors always kept locked. These lead to some stairs, which take you up and above the garage to the family's living area, where there are two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a kitchen, a living room, and a game room that can be turned into a guest room due to the pull out couch.
Kate's room is rather plain, unsurprisingly with bits of metal and stuff around. There's a few grease or oil stains on the pale carpet and her mom's always yelling at her about them. Her desk is littered with various tools, screws, nails, bolts, and scrap metal, usually with some half completed work in the middle. Her bed's stuffed in the corner beneath a window with a bedside table that holds her alarm clock. Her closet really is full of clothing, with a nice little place to keep her amazing amount of caps.

Ito drove the black and silver motorcycle he and Sam had borrowed from Kate. He was finally going to meet Sam's parents. She rode behind him, her arms wrapped around his waist as he drove. His hair was pulled back into another rare ponytail, tied off with a black ribbon to symbolize he was going through grief or mourning. It was mainly because the young vampire he thought he had killed was now working for KuroZetsu. As he drove, he noticed Sam's arm go over his shoulder and point out an apartment building. "That's the place?" He called out behind him and heard her acknowledgement. He then parked off to the side of the road and got off. "Alright... So here I am to finally meet them... I hope everything goes alright..." He said nervously, his wings tucked to his back but still rather twitchy.

[Yep! No worries.]

Sam jumped off the bike and tilted her head back, staring up at the building. "Home sweet home." She grinned, then turned and took Ito's hand, the ring glinting with sunlight as she did. "It'll be fine, I promise," she assured him, her smile softening a bit. To be honest, she was a little nervous as well, but she knew it'd turn out good in the end. She couldn't imagine her dad being angry with her. No, not when he'd been afraid he'd never get any grandkids. Sam began tugging Ito towards the front door, then paused to smooth out her skirt after the motorcycle ride, and rang the doorbell.

There was a small delay, then the sound of a bolt shifting, before it swing inwards. "Hey! I'm hom-" Sam began, cutting off as the tanned man with brown hair and green eyes jerked her into a bear hug. Sam froze, then laughed and hugged him back, before squirming out of his grasp. "Hey, dad," Sam grinned, then nodded past him towards the blonde hair, blue eyed woman who'd appeared in the doorway behind him. She was staring intently at Ito. Sam just smirked and grabbed his hand. "I wanted to introduce you to someone," she explained. "This is Itonami Ataenushi."

Ito was nervous, extremely, unbearably, uncontrollably nervous. He felt his hand took by Sam and was soon tugged to the door. "Here's hoping I make a good impression..." He muttered quietly before the door opened. Immediately as Sam tried to say she was home, who Ito guessed was her dad had already gathered her into a hug. It was indeed sweet to see her father was so friendly with her. Ito had never known any family but his brother. He then saw a woman with blonde hair and blue eyes, and immediately, just from a certain vibe, knew why Sam hated her. She had such a snobbish output to her. He could feel his hand taken by Sam and simply smiled, letting his nervousness melt. "Yes... But I prefer just to be called Ito if you wouldn't mind kind sir..." He said lightly with a smile. "And your daughter has some important news concerning me and her... So... If we may take a seat in the living room?" He requested, his tone full of respect.

Joshua turned and stared towards Ito, raising a brow curiously. "Huh, really polite, aren' ya?" But he was smiling pleasantly towards the boy, maybe with a little excitement as well. His eyes didn't fail to see that ring sitting happily on hsi daughters left hand. "But sure, right this way. Oh, I'm Joshua, Sam's dad, but you can call me Josh. Tha's what everone else calls me." He turned with a grin and led them inside, the woman, Mary, stepping quickly aside and out of the way. Josh closed the door and headed off past the kitchen and to a living room. There were two couches, one larger than the other, and love seat positioned around a glass coffee table, with a television set against the wall, facing them. He sat down on a couch, and Mary sat down at his side. She was staring at Sam, and hadn't taken her eyes off the girl since she'd entered. Sam sat down opposite them, still holding Ito's hand in hers. "Well, ya see," she began with a smile, running through various reactions in her head. "Ito asked me ta marry 'em, and I said yes."

For as long as three seconds, there was complete silence in the room. Sam was just smiling happily, gripping Ito's hand, and the two adults stared back at her in utter shock. Even though they'd both seen the ring, they still had trouble taking the news when it'd been said. Then, suddenly, Joshua sprang up from the couch, literally jumped over the table, and knelt in front of Ito. He peered into the boy's eyes, then reached forward and tugged both him and Sam into a bear hug, like he'd done when first opening the door. "Oh god," he laughed, sounding slightly disbelieving, yet extremely relieved and happy, all at the same time.

"But of course, it's only proper when meeting someone for the first time..." Ito said lightly. After hearing him introduce himself as Joshua, or just Josh, he nodded and followed lightly. When Sam sat, he sat by her, letting his hand be held by Sam's. He awaited Sam speaking that he had asked to marry her, then, waited the three second out and was slightly shocked to see Josh jump out the couch, over the table, and kneel before him, staring straight into his eyes. It was slightly scary, but Ito just held the gaze calmly. He knew that it was a kind of father's test for the man who became their son-in-law, then the next thing he knew, he was being gripped in a tight bear hug along with Sam. "Hey! Ow! Watch the wings!" He cried out as he was squeezed. "C'mon man! Don't you know an angel's wings are extremely fragile!" He cried, but he was smiling. Bear hugs always freaked him out, but this time he'd make an exception, especially since he had just been welcomed to the family.

Joshua laughed and drew back, grinning ear to ear as he sat right on the coffee table in front of them. "Sorry, sorry," he apologized. "It's just- wow. Sam. My Sam. Rosie Rose. Married." He laughed again, then reached out and ruffled her hair, revealing where Sam had probably gotten the habit from. "Unbelievable. Isn' it crazy, Mary?" he asked, suddenly looking towards the blonde. She looked up sharply, peered towards Sam and Ito, and nodded once, curtly. "Indeed." But Josh had already turned away from her, back towards the soon to be happy couple.

And suddenly, he was staring at Ito's wings, suddenly realizing something. "Hey wait. Those are real?" Sam nodded her head, looking quite proud of herself, and shooting Mary a smug look while her father was distracted. "Huh," Josh frowned. "Tha's cool, but..." He turned, looking towards Mary again. "What kinda school did ya send her to...?" Mary jumped, startled, then shrugged her shoulders and tried to play it cool. "Well, it seemed nice enough. It had a very high ranking. Nothing but the best for our daughter." Sam tensed, her grip tightening upon Ito's hand, as she shot the woman a glare that could kill.

"Yeah... And the left one's very tender right now..." Ito muttered gruffly, nodding to his left and stretching out the bandaged wing. "I swear... It's a great school, but so many different personalities learn there... Some people are beautiful like your daughter, both in personality and looks... But others are pure evil... Ugly and rotten straight down to the core..." Ito explained, giving away that Mary had sent Sam to a dangerous school. "And Miss... I'm surprised you didn't see all the warnings about the school on their website or while doing research... They tell you about all their great benefits, but they also warn about demons, vampires, angels, and everything you can dream of... They pretty much mention that it's a death trap if your child has no protection or special talents..." He said, a light smile gracing his lips in pure innocence. He was hoping to get the woman out of Sam's life for good.

Joshua raised his hands in front of himself, looking more seriously apologetic now. He also seemed a little worried. "Sorry," he said again, then turned and stared long and hard towards Mary. "Pure evil? Warnin's? I'd... like to see this website." He frowned, locking eyes with Mary. She tried to stare back, then faltered and looked off to the side. So then Josh knew something was up. He stood, paced back and forth a couple times, then looked at Sam. "...I know you got a computer on you somewhere." Sam blinked, looked up at him innocently, then reached into her messenger bag, which she'd brought with herself. She tugged out her laptop, set it on her legs, opened it, and began typing. Pretty soon, she had the school's page up and running. Her dad sat back down on the coffee table and took the comptuer Sam was offering.

He frowned, and it grew ever darker as he progressed through the website. "This..." He frowned, and looked over his shoulder. "There's no way you can tell me you didn't see all of this. Just what were ya trying to accomplish?" When Mary didn't reply, he turned his back to her again, and instead looked upon Sam with concern. "You're alright, right?" Sam hesitated, then looked at her left hand, where a thin scar still traced along her palm, fixing it so that he could see but it didn't appear like she was showing it on purpose. "I was attacked, but Ito here saved me. Tha's why his wing is tender." Joshua visibly tensed, then turned and stared at Mary again, his expression a glare, finally. Sam had gotten him to glare at that woman before, but never like this.

Ito shrugged it off, taking the apology easilly. "Don't worry about it... But yeah... Everything I read in brail before I got here was full of unmissable warnings..." He said quietly. When Sam tried to give Josh an innocent look, Ito just couldn't help but chuckle. "Yes... I take good care of your daughter Josh... I don't want her hurt... Especially with a few certain things I'd rather be sure about before telling..." He said lightly, though his free hand gave it away by going to Sam's stomach and resting upon it lightly.

Joshua sighed and slowly turned back to face the pair, listening to Ito. The brail comment confused him a little, and he wondered for a moment if he should ask, but decided against it. He didn't want to interrupt the boy. He carefully handed the laptop back to Sam, who closed it, put it in hibernation mode, and stuffed it back into her bag. He ran his hand over his face, and because of this, missed Ito's movement at first. "What things...?" he began, trailing off as he did look up again, seeing where Ito's hand was, and noticing Sam move her hands atop of his, and the look Sam was giving him. It was kind of tender, an expression he'd never seen on her face before. He froze for a second, then suddenly smiled. "Ya, ok..." He wasn't going to ask. He knew they'd tell him. "I expect ta be the first ya tell though," he grinned.

Mary, however, had a different reaction. Her eyes widened, and she jumped to her feet, her mouth open as she fought to find the words. "W-what?!" she shrieked suddenly jabbing a finger towards Sam. "You and him?! YOU?! You defiled an angel with your.. your foulness?!" Sam looked up, her eyes widened. She was obviously surprised, caught off guard. Mary had never snapped in front of Josh before. But, apparently the shock that Ito was an angel who had gone to bed with a vampire was too much for her. And in an instant, Joshua was on his feet. He grabbed Mary's shoulder, still gentle despite his anger, and pushed her forcibly from the room. In fact, he pushed her all the way to the front door, shoved her out, then slammed it in her face. He locked it, stood there a few seconds with his eyes closed, then took a deep breath and flopped down on the couch opposite Sam and Ito. There was a silence, before he suddenly let out an uneasy laugh. "...sorry."

Ito was shocked. Absolutely and utterly appalled by the woman's behavior. He was about to stand and shout back at her that she should have more respect for Sam, should be proud that she was engaged and possibly pregnant. Thank god it didn't come to that as Josh dealt with the problem himself. After the apology he sighed. "Don't worry... She should be made to apologize... For a woman bearing St. Mary's name, she is nothing like the woman who birthed our lord's son..." He sighed quietly. "Well onto brighter things!" He offered with a smile, hoping to lighten things.

Sam didn't say anything, slightly nervous, but secretly relieved that Mary had been thrown out. It was definitely about time! And she couldn't help hoping it'd be permanent. But finally, her dad had realized the b***h's true nature, and she was relieved he'd done something about it. She looked towards Ito when he spoke, then looked quickly away, biting back a laugh. Joshua was staring at him too, then suddenly grinned, glad the awkwardness had easily been allowed to pass. "Alright," he said. "Do ya know when the wedding will be? How many people you're inviting? All that stuff?" He paused, then suddenly frowned to himself and stood restlessly. "I'm kinda thirsty though. Either of ya want anything?" Sam nodded her head, recovered from the sudden urge to laugh. "I wan' a soda."

"Well... We're not sure about any of it yet... I'm not sure whether to go with a public or private wedding... Though... I think Sam should be the one to make the call on that... And I'm a slob with decorations... I was blind just a few weeks ago so I'm still learning what all is appealing to the eye..." He said lightly. Though for him it was three years ago. But everyone outside the void had gone through normal time. "I suppose a cup of green tea ould be nice if you have any, Josh..." Ito requested with a smile. He had the feeling he was going to be questioned about the brail comment now, but he had no problem, after all, he wanted no secrets with his father-in-law.

Joshua gave Ito an odd look now, unable to help himself. "Ok then..." he said a little uncertainly. "Now, sorry for askin', but while I'm gettin' ya tea, could you please explain to me how ya were blind a few weeks ago?" He looked on for a moment longer, then turned and headed towards the kitchen. There was just a low dividing wall though, so he could see be seen, and also see them. Though, currently his back was towards him as he filled a cup with water to start and make the tea. He suddenly smiled though, realizing something. "Heh... Sam's gonna decorate? That could be disasterous..."

Sam looked up, shaking her head side to side. "No way! I could do it! I already told Ito here tha' I'd wear a white dress if he wanted me ta!" Josh looked up at that, slightly surprised, yet looking amused at the same time. "...really now?" he mused. "Ya, really." Sam replied shortly, but she was grinning as well. She paused, then snuggled against Ito's side. "Now, tell us a story, please?" she smiled, realizing she didn't know the details of how he'd regained his sight. Just that he'd gone into the void blind, and emerged able to see.
