Story
Four wolf packs once lived on an island. They had fought a deadly war over the island and at the end they settled down and split the island in four. They had prospered and they were content with life. They conintued to live in this fashion for many years, but now the time has come to go to war once again.
The only place that they don't fight for is a grasy hill in the middle of the island. It is a place of peace and a place where you don't fight, a place that is the safety and happiness of the island.
Which pack will you choose? War or peace, it's up to you. Choose well and make wise choices, because one false move and you could loose it all. So make your choice and fight for your life and the life of your pack!

Rules
1. Follow all the regular gaian rules.
2. You may not use this role play thread as a place to chat or the hang out with friends. The only chatting that is allowed is when a new user needs to be caught up with what is happening. At that point, I will post a message that states that the roleplaying is now on hold and that there is a new character.
3. PM your character profiles. For the subject put >Atop a Grassy Hill - Wolf< ((So I know you read the rules))
4. No flames, abusive comments, viruses or spam.
5. Respect all other users
6. Don't post with a signature

Pre-Roleplay
1. Please get to know the other users that will be particapating
2. Please establish yourselves and discuss with other users what you plan to write.
We can't all be starting at a different time of day, writing a different plotline and confusing potential roleplayers and the other users.
3. Plan what you want to write.
This doesn't mean that is what you will write, just plan ahead so it is easier for you follow along and not to lag behind.
4. Keep checking in on the posts because they will be constantly updated.
5. PM me when you have talked to all the other users in the roleplay. Make sure you have discussed the plotline of the roleplay so you don't confuse eachother.

The Pack
Elite Status:
Alpha Wolves:
The leaders of the pack, one male and one female. They 'own' the territory, and with the assistance of their Beta's and Zeta's, protect their land. They carry out most of the big decisions, and can promote or relegate any wolf to any level of their pack. Alphas will always have final say in everything, and are obeyed by all members of the pack at all times. They create rules and boundaries for the pack and decide on ranking, courting, breeding and accepting and/or rejecting new wolves. They also can banish a wolf from the pack if they feel it necessary. Occasionally, Alphas may call Formal Group Hunts along with the Delta wolves. There may only be one Alpha and one Alphaess.
(Dominant stances, tail held high, ears forward, bright eyes.)
Beta Wolves:
Second-in-command. Usually one wolf, but can be one male and one female. Usually makes sure the Alphas are listened to, and help with large decisions. Often make sure any and all cubs are okay, acting as pupsitters. The Betas are second only to the Alpha and answer only to them. If the Alpha is not present they may take their place. Betas may also accept or reject new wolves that come to the border. Betas serve as the discipliner to reinforce the Alpha’s decisions. They hold to the right to warn and then banish a wolf from the pack, provided they have the Alphas permission, though if not present, Betas may make the decision themselves. Betas role is to keep the pack in line and demonstrate loyalty to the Alphas. There may only be one Beta and one Betaess.
(Dominant stances, slightly less than Alpha.)
Gamma Wolves:
Gammas are wolves that are chosen by the Alpha to be advisors to the Alpha. These wolves are usually older, but not always, and have demonstrated that they are wise and can guide others in the pack through means other than fighting. These are often the most experienced wolves, occasionally acting as "Pack Storyteller." This rank is also referred to as an Honored position since old Alphas are often given this rank to assist the new Alpha in learning how to lead the pack. There may be up to 3 Gammas.
(Fairly dominant stances, ears forward, tail slightly lower)

Superior Status:
Delta Wolves:
Lead Hunters of the pack. The Delta wolf’s role in the pack is to assist the Beta in making sure the rules are followed and that the pack acts as a family. They make sure that the Pack Members keep themselves out of trouble and that no fights break out between visiting wolves or other pack members by warning them of the rules. They are the main or lead Hunters in a pack, and often have a great deal of experience with a variety of game. Delta Wolves can act as law-enforcers, and are extremely experienced in hunting a wide variety of game... they also train up the Delta Epsilions. There may be only four Delta wolves.
(Usually strong/aggressive wolves - ears foward, tail high, more submissive when Alpha, Beta or Gamma present)
Sigma Wolves:
The Scouts of the pack. Often wolves that aren't the best hunters, but are excellent trackers. Sigma and Delta wolves can work together when tracking prey over a period of time. Often, these scouts travel far and wide searching for food and new hunting territory. They are often positioned near the territory borders, and are one of the first to spot new wolves or intruders. Fast and agile, these wolves are often fairly young and have a great deal of energy, though lacking in physical strength. There may be up to four Sigma wolves.
Zeta Wolves:
The Zeta wolves act as Guards or Sentinals of the pack. Strong and large they are a force to be reckoned with, and the Zeta wolves are what give the Diamond Vice Pack their fearsome reputation. The Zeta wolves are very intelligent, and are great fighters. They need to be in order to defend their territory. Delta, Sigma and Zeta wolves are invaluable to the Alphas, and it is an honour for a wolf to become one of these ranks. There may be up to five Zeta wolves.)
Kappa Wolf:
Like the Shaman of the pack, this member can heal almost any injury or illness with the right tools and herbs. Greatly looked up to by most members of the pack, pups especially, they are invaluable, especially after large territorial battles or fights for dominance that leave wolves injured. Often they take on young, intellegent wolves as an Epsilon, or Apprentice. There may only be two Kappas.
Upsilon Wolves:
Usually a she-wolf, the Upsilon rank describes the pack's main pup-sitter. There may well be more than one wolf of this rank, but it is usually filled by mothers, or older wolves that have lost their ability to hunt or track. A well-respected wolf, the Upsilon wolf often has a patient, calming personality, and is often invaluable to the pack. There may be up to 3 Upsilon wolves.

Higher Status
Delta Epsilons:
Delta Epsilons are young, strong, fast, healthy wolves that have a loyalty to the pack, and wish to protect it by becoming a Delta. Ranked above Pack Members, they learn the ways of the hunt in more detail, as well as leadership skills taught to them often by other Deltas, or Gammas. Considered Pack Members, but generally the pack treats them with a bit more respect. There may only be three Delta Epsilons.
Kappa Epsilon:
Similar to a Delta Epsilon, except a Kappa Epsilon learns the way of health, rather than battle. Often younger wolves selected by the pack's Kappa or Healer to learn their ways, they have to be focused on their task in order to succeed and be a Healer. There may only be two Kappa Epsilon.
Higher Members:
These are regular pack members trying to survive day-to-day life. Higher Members are those that show good potential for rising in the ranks. They are often fairly intelligent and contribute a lot to the pack in general. Often adults, rather than yearlings, Higher Members do have a lot of experience, though many lack vital skills for the other Higher Ranks, howvever, they are still treated with respect by those of lower status. They obey all wolves above them, though generally quite outgoing themselves. Any number of wolves - though their own heirarchy will be decided on how often they post.

Middle Status:
Lower Members:
Lower Members are either pups that just turned one, wolves that recently joined the pack or former Omegas. You can also become a Lower Member if you were demoted in rank by the Alpha(s) for the wrong actions. Lower Members don’t have many social freedoms, but they are free to do as they wish as long as they show proper respect to those above them and obey the pack’s rules. Any number of wolves - though their own heirarchy will be decided on how often they post.

Pups:
One of the lowest ranking members of the pack, though its usually only the Alpha's who produce cubs - however any other wolf may, with their Alpha's permission. Pups are adored by the pack and despite their low rank have many social freedoms as they learn the ways of the pack. All pups are considered equal regardless of the parent’s ranks and are treated equally. Once a pup turns a year old, or make a large kill by themselves, they are no longer pups and are considered adult wolves, and Pack Members. Too young to hunt or fend for themselves, they bring joy to all members of the pack, as they learn and fit into their natural heirarchy. No more than six in a litter, but any number of cubs. Pups born to the Alpha wolves may not neccessarily succeed their parents - meaning any pup (or wolf) could theoretically become the new Alpha. ((Once a pup(s) is born, they are role-played by the parent(s). If after a week no other person is chosen to role-play that pup, they will die. Sorry. This does not count if the gaian has less than three characters - and the pup will make up the third. For more information, PM me... I know my explanation isn't the best!!))
Tau Wolves:
The rank all wolves are given whom just joined the pacl. They are of this rank and are "under assessment" by the Alpha(s) of the pack. It is during this time a more suitable rank within the pack heirarchy could be selected for them, or, if they are seen as troublemakers, they will be chased away from the pack. Any number of Tau wolves, though the period a wolf will remain in this rank is not long...

Low Satus:
Omega Wolf:
The lowest possible member of the pack. They eat last at every kill, and are subservient to all other members of the pack. Often the wolf in this position is in bad favour with the Alpha(s), though they can be promoted based on the Alpha's choice. The Omega is the lowest ranking wolf in the pack. They are the last to eat and often sleep separate from the pack. Being singled out for torment isn't unusual and most of the time the higher ranks will allow it. Sometimes they are put in charge of watching the pups if the Alphas deem them trustworthy enough. Omegas are always one step away from banishment and must work hard to prove themselves to the Alphas in hopes that they will remove the rank of Omega.
(Submissive to all except pups.) There may only be ONE Omega wolf.

History: Yuki was born in a litter where all her siblings were still born. She was lonely without any litter mates and grew cold and emotionless. As she got older, she trained hard with the Alphas and was marked as one of the candidates for the Alpha Female. She was a ruthless killer and a great hunter. She also knew of herbs and healing tactics. When she turned 1, Alpha female died in a hunt. After the death of the Alpha Female, a wolf challanged the Alpha to a fight to the death. They both ended up killing the other and Yuki was named the leader of the pack. She is the first every female, dominant leader of the pack.
Personality: She is ruthless and cold. She is ver calm and rarely looses her temper. She can be caring though and is very compassionate. She is a great leader.

History: Raole was a smart wolf from the moment that she was born. She was curious and was the first one to be born. She was and is the largest female in her pack. When she first became a Delta wolf, it was because of her wisdom and knowledge of the prey. She was a vital tool in catching deer and moose because, whenever she aimed for her target on the animal, she would be able to bite down on it and kill it instantly.
Personality: Raole is a bossy wolf who always expects her orders to be followed immediately. If her orders are not followed, judgment will face the wolf who erred. Raole has her rough kindness at times and is said to be like a human military general.

Meaning - You post alot and you didn't break any of the rules.
Gray List
Meaning - You broke a rule or didn't post enough. Big deal. Just post more often and don't breack another rule. I'm putting you on probation for a month. Last that long without breaking a rule or not posting at least 8 times... Boom! You're off the gray list.
Black List
Meaning - You're suspended from this thread.
