Welcome to the Athena Public Library where the largest growing number of media resources are available to the public. Serving the community proudly for over three centuries, we hope that you will enjoy our haven of learning, and continue to support it for decades to come. While we are on the topic of support, we would like to thank now all the patrons and schools of learning who have donoted time, money and resources to the library, making learning accessible to all.

News Board

Reminder to all library partons, the Give the Gift of Reading drive is to start again next week. We are encouraging all partons to dontate books they no longer read, and money so we may issue free library cards to families who cannot afford to pay our fee.

In conjunction to this, the coming week is also the Children's Reading Drive, held to encourage youngsters to read more and have fun! Our three assistants will be holding contests, reading circles and re-enacting fairy tales for the whole week.

This Friday's weekly semniar will be on superstitions.

:Library Grounds:

:The Outside:
Going of the wide steps of the public library once must past through the fronts stone pillars, similar to that of Ancient Greece temples. The patron who founded the library was a follower of Athena, and so the library was modelled after this. The doors are made of heavy oak, carved and spelled against the more magical patrons that much enter.

:The Lobby:

To the right of the patron entering the library is the front desk where volunteers and employees help to check out books, put books back, provide information and of course resigter new patrons for their library card. Next to the front desk, on the far wall is a display case, displaying some of the rare books donated to the library by past partons. Before the parton as they enter is a door, and there is another door on the left leading to the Children's Room.


:The Children's Room:
It is like a library wtihin a library, only it is dedicated for children, so the book shelves are no taller than what an average ten year old could reach, there are little tables and chairs scattered about. Beanie bag chairs in the corners, the only big chair is the large reading chair set in a large empy space for children to sit and listen to stories.

:The Main Library:

The main library reaches four floors and the basement, the first floor is for normal reading books for pleasure reasons. From every genre to most languages avaliable, though majority of what exists is in English. The second floor is the research floor, this is where students go to study or research for their projects. It is also equiped with computers to allow the browsing of eletronic documents. The third floor is for doucments like newspapers and maginizes, anyone who needs to do some primary research could find something useful there. The fourth floor is actually two things, the media floor and the languages floor. There people can listen to wtih headphones music, or take out videos, it was also made the languages floor because the library has audio sounds for languages that people can listen to. The final area, the basement is where the rare books not displayed are kept, they can be only accessed by the main staff members, so if a book is needed from that area for research you must ask first.

:Techie Office:

This is the office of Yuki Saga, any problems with any of the computer or audio equipment should be brought here for help. Careful when walking in, it is full of well... eletronic junk.

:Lore's Office:

The office of the head librarian, it is down the other end of the library though a hallway, it's a roomy office. Most people don't need to visit there, it's just nice to know that it's there. Don't trip over the book stack on the way in.

:The Main Staff:

The main staff of the library is there to help make your experience at the library a pleasant one. Do please however listen to them while you are there, for there are also there to help maintain the library so that others may enjoy it for years to come.

:Lore:

Lore is our head librarian is has been so for over a century and a half now. If there is anything you need to know about the library he will probably know it. However, do try to refer to the assistants first, as he is often busy doing research for other scholars, as well as adding to our own collection of translated works.

:Tristan Wong:

Our resident gentleman, Tristan, is the head of the front desk, meaning he looks after all the books going in and coming out of the library. Currently a student at the Dancing School for Fine Arts, he is willing to help point you in the right direction if there is a book in need of being found.

:Yuki Saga:

Our lovely Yuki, also a student of the Dancing School for Fine Arts, is the head of our technology and research department. She deals with any computer problems that might exist, and is a whiz at finding information on the computer. She's right now in her last year of the arts school before going off to college so wish her luck in her final year.

:Rune:

Sweet Rune is a highschooler who is the head of the Children's Room, she looks after the children there, doing storytime and arranging for all the lovely events both child and adult like experiences at the library. She's willing to help in anyway including activities parents and take part in with their children. Just please don't mistaken her for the chlldren she looks after please.
