The land was half ocean (clean, not salt), half land. The ocean was of many kilometers deep. The land was both rocky and flat, all bearing tree's and grass.
The creature realized that the place in time needed life to circle it's land, it's water. The creature created four giant beings to cross the lands. The beings bared wings that when flapped sent waves of pressure outward. Their arms and legs were so strong that when they stomped cracks forged in the ground. Their breath was both poisonous and flaring when released. Their bodies so focused on defense that not even a meteor could penetrate their skin.
The creatures roamed the lands for many years (or so believed since time had no need to be recorded). The four of them each ended up circling specific area's on the land.
*One being swam day and night in the ocean.
*One being slept deep in the ground, where it was hard and stable.
*One being constantly flew the sky, always looking down on it's siblings.
*One being trodged the fiery pits that bellowed out of the ground, steaming and smouldering.
* Each being picking up a little of what they had loved to be with.

The beings lived with each other in harmony until one day when the creature wanted to absorb the four beings so he may gain their knowledge of their lives, their likes/dislikes, their existence. The four objected and fought against the creature. A battle raged between the five for what had seemed to be over a millenia until one of the four beings fell. It was the being that loved to sleep in the ground. His harder exterior shell had crumbled and he went with it. The other beings all fell not to far afterward.
*The being that loved to swim was set on fire, steaming into empty space.
*The being that soared the skies was soon cut from her wings, falling into nothing.
*The being that loved the fire was smothered to where he could not breath.

When the four fell the creature took pity on them. He took everything they had once been but let their personalities in solid stone. The once four valiant beings were tranformed into four shining gems. The creature focused his energy onto a single space where the four gems traveled and were laid to sleep.
When the four gems fell to the land they influenced the evolution of the humans around them, making both drastic and minor changes in their physiology.
*The water gem fell near a river in a forest, changing the people into elves. The elves used their songs and touch to resonate with the waves.
*The earth gem fell into the ground deep at the base of a mountain, changing the people into dwarves. The dwarves' skin became so hard only their proficient weapons could hurt them.
*The wind gem fell onto the top of the highest mountain, giving the nearby humans wings. The Vol's soar the skies with such speed that they pull the clouds along as they move.
*The fire gem fell in the center of a massive valley, giving the humans living in that area the ability to use magic. The humans used their minds and hearts to one day move objects by mere will.
The space the creature made is called Telos, the land and water now being tred by humans.
