Suigetsu (水月, Suigetsu?) is a former experiment subject of Orochimaru and first member to be recruited into Sasuke's Team Snake. He was being held on one of Orochimaru's laboratories inside a tank. He is released by Sasuke shortly after he defeats Orochimaru. Suigetsu's teeth are shark-like, much like Kisame Hoshigaki's. Suigetsu's name means "water moon", a reference to something that can be seen but not grasped, as the moon reflected in water is.

Suigetsu is able to reduce himself to liquid form and to return to bodily form at will, though it is unknown if this is the result of Orochimaru's experiments or an ability he already had. This ability also allows him to change his body shape, giving him the ability to increase the size of his limbs if necessary. It also makes striking him somewhat difficult: since he is made of liquid, any sufficiently powerful strike will go right through Suigetsu's watery form. He is arguably quite powerful or at least very confident in his abilities, since he has threatened Sasuke on more than one occasion. Suigetsu is also the first ninja seen carrying water bottles on his outfit. Given his somewhat frequent desire to consume water, Suigetsu may require regular hydration to sustain his watery form.

Suigetsu has Sasuke take him to Zabuza Momochi's grave in the Land of Waves after being released, wanting to take possession of the latter's zanbatō. Having trained with the Seven Swordsmen of the Mist, which Zabuza once belonged to, Suigetsu can wield the weapon with relative ease, but traveling longer distances with the sword strapped onto his back tires him out rather quickly.

He seems to have some enmity for Jugo and Karin, though it isn't clear why. During the trip meant for recruiting Karin, Sasuke asks him to free all the prisoners previously kept under Karin's guard. As a condition of their release, he has them tell those they meet that Sasuke has killed Orochimaru and intends to bring peace to the world. As Sasuke is never seen mentioning this to Suigetsu, it remains unclear if this is Sasuke's actual goal or merely manipulation on Suigetsu's part. When Karin later asks what Suigetsu hopes to get out of his alliance with Sasuke, Suigetsu replies that he wants to collect Kisame's sword, as he was trained under the Seven Swordsmen of the Mist. Karin assumes Suigetsu's goal is merely to collect all the swords.

I agree. I think Suigetsu is oddly cute (something about his fangs makes him totally adorable. <33) That and his smirks aimed at Karin. <333

Overall, he just has a very likable personality. I find it rather hard to hate someone who's a bit relaxed. He the loud and quirky one on the team that's for sure. Sort of like Tobi. (OMGTOBI heart )

I for one hope there isn't a sob story to his past, because we need more unique characters.

Well, so far as we know, Suigetsu had SOME sort of past, and because the most likely case is that he got abducted by Oro, he probably had some sort of tragic or dramatic part of life.

I'm glad that there's someone like Suigetsu in Team Hebi. I love how there's always that one, more upbeat character in the group. Like Naruto in Team 7, like Tobi in Akatsuki, and like Kiba, Ino, and Lee as well. Suigetsu is the really outgoing one of Hebi, and...I don't know. XD I love those kinds of characters.

Heh. I think Suigetsu is the only one to pull off "cute" out of the fang gang (XD *shot for bad pun*). I mean, no offense to fans, but Zabuza and Kisame are NO comparison to Suigetsu in the looks department. cool heart

I really hope that Suigetsu meets and interacts with Team 7, though. I would LOVE to see how he interacts with Naruto, Sakura and Sai...how do you think he would react/treat them?

Naruto: I actually see them getting along a tad. Maybe.

Sakura: I have no idea. >> Maybe praise her for being more down to Earth than Karin? (Which, of course, was spike an arguement between Karin and Suigetsu. XD heart )

Sai: With Sai's wits to say things before thinking, I think he might get on Suigetsu's nerves. XD

Here's what I think

Sakura: She will remind him of Karin so he won't like her and will probably try and think which of the two is worse.

Naruto: Sympathize over him since he's with Sakura...

Sai: He might get on Suigetsu's nerve since Sai might probably think of a nickname.

And then...Karin and Sakura will have a b***h fight over Sasuke!! *shots*

Well is a possible theory but I don't really ship it. I reread those chapters and I dont think that what I saw of Sai's brother resembles Suigetsu...=3 I don't really know...

I like Suigetsu. He's... Entertaining. Kinda reminds me of Beastboy from TT, though he's probably a bit smarter.

Ooh, team 7 interaction would be very interesting.

Naruto: They'd either get along great, or annoy each other. Probably a bit of both.

Sakura: Depends on what he first sees of her. If he sees her storlling through the woods, talking to her teammates, he'll probably think she's just some average, sweet girl. I he sees her bust a whole the size of a house in the ground, he'll probably freak a little. All depends.

Sai: Errr, I didn't read, like, any chapters with him. I skipped the first half of the timeskip. XD
