Valon's military consists up of legions of thirty-two hundred legionnaires each. Having only twelve fully prepared legions for use when needed in war but there are much smaller groups of battle ready legions known as cohorts, that consisted up with forty to eighty legionnaires, depending on their tasks.
Both groups have all three basic troops types for the battlefield, one being the actual Valonian Legion that fights the enemy in melee combat, the other being the Valonian Ranger that helps supports the legionnaires with their bows and arrows. The last soldier type in the valonians arsenal is the Valonian Raider, horsemen who's sole-purpose is to search and eliminate enemy officers that are marching their men on the field. All three unit types, along with each legionnaire that serves the legion, covers the other's back, in hopes of keeping their losses down when they do have a victory.

The second year of training gives the students the basic education to have a normal life, politics to voice their oppinions out to the people as well as reading to understand situations that they will face in the future. After learning all the needed knowledge and passing the test to show what they have learned, all the students during this phase are ready to tackle the challenge of the third.

All the mentors teach their pupils how to use the sword for it is the basic weapon used to do battle. Also, the students are taught how to ride and fight on horseback as well as to shoot bows effectively. The second phase is that of them learning tactics, countering enemy tactics as well has making a battleplan to combat the enemy effectively as well as not to killed their entire troop while doing it. What the students do during their third year determines their unit type, as well as what rank that they will most likely be. The fourth year is mainly a competition among the students who have passed their third year in training, as well as a test to show what they have learned. In the end of the year, all students during this year are branded with the mark of the legion, their own Zodiac Symbol, on the back of their sword hands. All the students are then free to do what they think is right for their country after completing their training.

Bio:
Kidd was born in a respectful human family. Taught at a young age to respect all, even his own enemy. Following the Valonian Tradition of being taken away from his family at the age of fourteen, Kidd was taken to the Legion Academy where he would begin his transformation as a Legionnaire. Strengthening his mind and body through the first two years in the academy, the young man showed great promise of being a leader in his third. The last year of training, Kidd was no different from any other student in the competition. Losing in some parts as well as recovering with several victories which all tested his endurance, his ability to lead, and his knowledge of the Valonian Way. On his eighteenth birthday, he was given the mark of the Legion. Being branded on the back of his right hand, he was now considered a Valonian Citizen and a Valonian Legionnaire through and through.
First serving in a Legion Cohort under a Centurion, Kidd had his first taste of battle when they were ambushed. Remembering what he was taught to do, and stand up for, Kidd showed great courage and skill during the enemy ambush. Surviving the battle with multiple wounds, it was at that point of the eighteen years of his life that he decides to perfect himself in combat.
Starting his training once again at the academy but this time choosing several classes to go by. Becoming an expert in using both swords and daggers, Kidd has only yet master his skills. Returning to the field for several more border patrols and ruthless battles, the legionnaire was ready for his new role in the Legion, to lead his very own cohort as a centurion.
At the age of twenty-one, Kidd was ordered to assist an ally fortress from the Griam Empire. Informed that there were several other Valonian Legion Cohorts stationed there, Kidd had no choice but to agree for he was needed.
Upon leading his cohort of one-hundred twenty legionnaires, it was just like a border patrol that the young man was use to as they were ambushed, multiple times during their march. Surviving the ambushed along with most of his soldiers, Kidd arrived only to see that the situation was alot more difficult than it was expected to be. The situation was that they were outnumbered four to one, and that they were fighting battle weary legionnaires while protecting civillians. The centurion was now under the command of an expeirenced, and yet a well known, Valonian Legion General Xerox Linoge.
Not being recognized as a leader by Xerox because of his age, Kidd did not only face the test of his leadership abilities and his endurance, but also faced the challenge to earn the respect of a stern Legion General.
After suffering a defeat on the field of battle and then trapped within the fortress tower, Kidd ignoring orders made a bold move to take his cohort and meet the enemy outside. Vastly outnumbered, the cohort, led by their centurion, stood in front of the battered gate of the tower. Staring death in the eye, Kidd orders his legionnaries to defend instead of attacking. Provoking their enemy into attacking, the legion performed a shieldwall, an impregnable defence by locking their sheilds together and holding their ground. Holding their ground effectively, the legions were feeling worn as the enemy continue to push. Aided by the Legion General Xerox's order to fire a volley of arrows into the attacking enemy horde. With the enemy staggering from the hail of arrows, Kidd orders his cohort to advance thus forcing the enemy out from within the fortress walls.
Surviving the attack and returning inside the fortress tower, Kidd was scolded but yet appraised for his actions. Retaking the fortress walls, the legion was now able to change the course of battle, with one obstacle in the way. During Kidd's successful attempt to push the enemy back out into the field, the Griam Empire's wizard, Teuton, was watching the battle, studying the legion from afar.
Teuton, to the Valonian people, was thought has a man with a curse, little did they know they thought true. The wizard's skin was flawless, not even a sign of aging was seen. Teuton uses his curse to absorb the youth from all the things that he touches, regardless what it is. With one touch from his hand, he would sap the youth from any living thing, absorbing it into his body to keep him young.
Recieving word of the news of Teuton serving in the Griam Empire, the legions within the fort were force to debate on how to combat the wizard. Knowing that Teuton was known to live over a millenia, and that he has trained with many weapon masters in his time. Even though he can be killed just like any other human being, his curse is what protects him from any weapons that was made by man.
Settling their debate, the legion assembled to attack Teuton's army. Unlike the Griam's army of elite soldiers, Teuton's men were followers. Believing in only in his ability to live an eternal life, they will strive to earn his blessing of immortality.
The General of the Griam Imperial Army thinking that they can use Teuton's army to over confident the Valonian Legion, with his followers, they had Teuton lead the attack. General Linoge knows better just like any other legionnaire does that serves Valon, and that is not to disrespect the enemy. Even though they are facing Teuton and his followers, they knew not to think any less of them as they are just as deadly as the Emperial Soldiers. Teuton knowing that he is being used by the Griams and knowing the Valonian's respect of their enemies, he riled his troops until they were eager to meet whatever end that awaits them. Filling their minds with promises that they will all soon live an eternal life, he orders the charge against the legion.
Meeting Teuton's followers on the field of battle with one simple clash, both legion and citizen faced off. Though the legions were skilled in war and slowly gaining the upperhand, the great wizard urged his followers to destroy every legionnaire that they see, as the Griam Imperial Army was fast approaching from behind in a steady march. During the midst of the chaos, Kidd met face to face for the first time with Teuton. Looking like any ordinary man to the centurion, Kidd fought him no differently than he did with his followers. Both warriors were equal in both speed and in strength, even though their skill levels were different, Kidd still managed to hold his own against the wizard. As they both continue their duel, Teuton's followers slowly dwindle down to a few able fighters. Being reinforced by the Imperial Army, the battle shifted to a stalemate. With neither gaining ground, nor causing heavy casualties against the other, both forces collide on the battlefield, both determining the fate of a small kingdom.
Kidd continued his duel with the wizard, gaining the upperhand and losing it as they fought. Forcing the wizard to stagger backwards after knocking his weapon out of his hand, the centurion made his first mistake on attacking his enemy. Forgetting that the wizard's skin absorbs the youth out of anything it touches, Kidd jumps forward, placing his hand on Teuton's shoulder, to strike him down with his sword, only to feel his life slowly fade away right before him. Along with the momentum that he has built up when he jumped forward, allowed him to release the wizard and topple forward on to the ground. Little did Kidd know while he was trying to regain his feet, the wizard picked up his own sword, and when he was about to strike the legionnaire from behind, he was engaged by another, Xerox Linoge. Rising up to his knees, the centurion tries to recover from what he felt from the wizard's curse. Feeling as if he aged, Kidd struggles to regain his feet, and when he did, Xerox has already defeated Teuton.
In the surrounding area of the duel, everyone saw the defeat of the cursed wizard. In disbelief, the battle slowly came to a halt as news start to spread about Teuton's fall in battle. Lost and confused if they should continue to do battle, the Griam General enters the battlefield. Meeting the Valonian Legion General, the Imperial General calls for a cease fire as they debate to continue their war or not. Settling the debate and finding out the Imperial General was the Empress of Griam, both Xerox and her agreed to end the war and leave the country in it's present state. After several more meetings with the Empress and finding out her true intentions why she was attacking the neutral country, Xerox orders Kidd to return to Valon for his service in the war was completed. Not finding out anymore about the Empress' intentions, Kidd did not expect what will happen in the later future.
Several weeks after returning home to Valon, Kidd was then promoted to Valonian General for his bold tactics and skills in the battlefield, and his promotion was requested from no other than Xerox Linoge himself. Accepting the position and considering on preparing himself for his new responsibility of being a leader of both war and strategy, Kidd enrolls himself into the Legion Academy to learn more about tactics and ruses he can use in the future against Valon's enemies. Completing his training months later only to find out that he is not needed at the time, Kidd takes his time off to travel the lands of his country, to remind himself what he is fighting for.

By taking some of Tyreal's scales and melting them to a mold of a sword, a chip of Baraka's soul stone was placed in the hilt of the weapon.
