Current Time Setting: May 2006 (Thursday) Afternoon ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The natural forest air filled Rick's lungs as he walked with his backpack slung over his shoulder. It felt good, every now and then, to take such walks. They cooled his body, as he felt the heat that he had accumulated from the frustration of previous events dissipate.
To summarize what brought him out there, it was the frustration at not being able to think of the proper harmony to a song that the woman at Que Cosa was playing. Childish, yes, but he was angered at not being able to. Usually, such things came as easily to him as running and jumping. But...this was different, and in order to keep his calm, he found himself darting into the forest.
He stopped to lean against a tree, sliding down the smooth bark until he was sitting with his back propped up against it. Running a hand through his hair, he breathed out a sigh as he stared upwards into the afternoon sky.

Liz never thought that the first thing she would end up doing after getting settled down in the cabin was hiking. Its what she spent a good part of her time doing aside from working on transport vehicles and so on. Then again when you spend most of your time doing the same things over and over again for several years its difficult to remember what your civil passtime hobbies.
The only clothes she had were several pairs of desert fatigues making her stick out like a sore thumb against the shades of brown and green compared to her light brown and cream fatigues. Which although she had no need to worry, it wasn't like blending into the background was a part of life or death anymore but she couldn't help but feel uneasy.
Her mind wandered boredly, not the best thing for Liz to do... Eyeing a tree, Liz plops down her heavy backpack not too far away from where Rick was resting. With a small running start she propels herself towards the tree and right before her body slams against it her boots and hands dig at the bark ascending up its trunk into the branches.

Rick rested his head against the thick, soft trunk of the tree, the sun hitting his body and warming his tan skin and dark clothes. It felt so good....he felt like he could rest here for a while...
Until a shockwave made his world explode. It felt like someone was rattling his skull, jarring his brain around. As his eyes shot open, his vision was blurred, probably due to the amount of vibration shooting through that portion of his brain.
He groaned, teetering forward, and soon found himself laying facefirst onto the ground.
"What...happened?" He moaned.

Success, she can still climb a tree! ....'I've been hangin' out with the guys far too long.' Liz thought to herself hoisting herself through the network of branches till she heard someone groan. Her body froze and her ears listened, a habit that's long been engrained into her psychy. It was when she reached for her non-existant gun did she realize remember that she was on "vacation". Her fingers pinched the bridge of her nose and scrunched her eyes shut before finally looking down the tree. Laying on the ground, face planted in the leaves and dirt was a guy. Liz rolled her eyes at herself. 'Of all the trees i could have scaled i HAD ta pick the one with a Rip Van Winkle-in-training.'
"Oi, i didn't know this tree was occupied."

Ember sighed helplessly as she desperately searched for the man see had seen. Her feet crunched the under brush as her hands pushed away that branches in her way. Pouting childishly as she finally plopped down by a fallen tree.
'Who am I kidding!? I won't be able to find him. I should just go back'
With a sigh she slowly got up till she realized something that made her whole body freeze "I have no idea where I am! Oh no! How could I be so stupid! I should of looked where i was going!"
Whimpering she looked about herself. She jumped suddenly when she heard talking nearby.
"Maybe it's someone who knows that way out of here"
She slowly walked towards the voices that she hoped would help her out of theforest

With a groan, he pushed himself onto his knees, hearing a voice call down. It was either a bird, or a person in the tree, or a squirrel, he deduced. Upon looking up, he was relieved to find that he was still sane...somewhat.
"No, it's alright. I was just resting..." He looked up to see someone else walking near. If he wasn't mistaken, it was the person from Que Cosa. He gave her a combination of a wave and a salute with two fingers.
"Hey," He said as he leaned back against the tree once again.

Liz chuckled sitting down on one of the larger branches propping herself against the trunk, something that wouldn't be attempted by the equilibrially hindered. Her attention moves towards footsteps nearby. "Who knew this spot would be so popular." Running her tongue acrossed her teeth bringing to her attention that she didn't have a cigarette hanging from her lips. That would quickly be dealt with the quick tap of a pack against the branch and snatching a cig between her fingers. Lighting it she inhales deeply filling her lungs with smoke before letting it escape through her nostrils. "So...whatcha here for?"

Ember ungracefully stumbles out into the open.A light growl comes from her lips as she brushes herself off and looks up to see the exact man she was looking for. She gives a sly smile and waves back timidly.
"Just the man i wanted to see!"
she said with a giggle. She looked up at the woman in the tree and gave a slight confused look. With a shrug of her shoulders she slowly closed the small gap between them. She lightly held out her hand and smiled at the man in front of her
"Hi! My name is Ember!"
She said happily.

Rick got to his feet to better address the one known as 'Ember' as he looked upwards at the tree climber.
"Just searching for lost muse," He called up to her, then took the other female's hand in a light, tender grasp.
"Rick Katan," He answered, "Why did you want to see me?"

"Muse? As in a painter's muse?" Liz waved nonchalantly to Ember, to put it more exactly she lifts her two front fingers up lazily nodding her head ones before dropping her hand back down. "I guess you found your muse, a bit of a clumsy one at that. " She said jokingly. They don't even know eachother's names and yet....they KNOW each...other. 'Strange strange people.' Thinks the desert fatigue-wearing woman sitting in a tree.
"And what be little red riding hood doin' a stumbling about in tha forest?" Liz called out to Ember.

Ember blushed shyly as she tucked a piece of loose hair behind her ear. She gave a sigh and looked Rick in the eye.
"I came to apologize. When i was playing you seem frustrated and i feared i had angered you or something."
She looks upon the girl in the tree and gives her a smile before looking at Rick.
"I am sorry if i disturbed you in any way at all"
she said before giving him a small smile.

"Wait---you saw that? Oh, geez, sorry about that," He apologized as he scratched the back of his head.
"Nah, if anyone's to blame, it's me. See---the song that you were playing, I had this harmony that I knew would work with it in the back of my head, but I couldn't quite bring it to the front. I can usually do things like that well, but...it felt like something was interfering. So, I came out here to see if I could clear my head. Hmm...I should probably get back there, anyways. Hopefully they'll still consider employing me," He murmured.

"Naw, he started it." Liz mused pointing to Rick. Pulling out a pocket knife and swinging her legs around on the brand to face the trunk she started etching something into the tree. She didn't seem to be one to stay still very long but it didn't mean she had stopped paying attention to what was going on around her. Looking towards the upper branches it was only then that she really got to thinking. Would she really head back to the same place? It was nothing short of a hell hole yet it was difficult to think very far in the future, she was so used to living life day by day. In the trunk of the tree, if you looked closely enough read. 'Liz was here.' "Guess its hard to clear your head with people suddenly droppin' by."

"oh! Well that makes me relived"
Ember said with a happy sigh. She smiled at Rick happily.
"I really do hope you can find the harmony! Um..you wouldn't mind if i go with you do you? I'm kinda lost"
Ember said while rubbing the back of her head, embarrassed.

He made a move to get up, until an awareness sweeped through his head. For a moment, all he did was stare straight ahead and blink several times, until he slouched back down against the tree trunk. For some reason, he lacked the energy to walk all the way back to Que Cosa...it seemed so much more appealing to just stay here.
"On second thought, it's pretty nice out here," He groaned, stretching out.
