http://www.gaiaonline.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=16261759&page=1Words can not express how displeased I would be if this petition worked. Quote: Those of us interested in the paranormal and the occult really have no place to go on Gaia. We're told to stay out of Morality and Religion, and any occult-related posts on the main ED or GD go straight to the chatterbox, or degenerate almost immediately into pointless flamefests. I want a place where we can go to have enlightened discussions on topics such as magic, sorcery, astral projection, ghosts, psionics, werewolves, astrology, you name it, anything out of the ordinary. Who's with me? If you are, either post on this thread or PM me to be added to the list. I'll try to update as often as possible, and if anyone wants me to edit this first post, let me know via PM. Please note that posting on this thread will be considered a signature, unless you specifically state that you aren't signing. Also, posting in this thread if you've already signed without specifically stating that you've already signed will get you reported. If you think you've seen this petition before, hit CTRL-F on your keyboard and type in your Gaia username to see if it's on there (or the URL of your sign picture if you use one of those). Perhaps we should start a counter petition?

If we counter-petitioned every "moran" petition out there we'd have no time for eating.
Does it look like it's getting outrageous support, though? Cuz then I might be compelled to speak out.

Full disclosure: I am interested in the paranormal. It makes for some great fiction. Doctor Who, Ghostbusters, Dead Like Me, I love it all. But it's a good idea not to confuse fiction with real life. And you should never attribute the word "unexplainable" to anything. Because everything is unexplainable if nobody wants to take the time to explain it.
^^^ Every time I post that, I get called "closed minded." Then I usually get depressed by the response, but then I get a good laugh at the irony.
(P.S.- Dead Like Me is an awesome show and great black-humor. You owe it to yourself to watch it.)

I most enjoy fiction that could, by some stretch of the imagination, be based in a very close reality to our own. See Dune for info: Spice isn't really an amazing drug, just something that unlocks new connections in our brains, causes synapses to fire as never before. How delightful.
