Alrighty, I'm on the hunt for a new saddle. My old one doesn't fit my horse as well as I'd like and it no longer cutting it among other reasons.

What I want to know from you all is what is your favorite brand of
dressage saddle and why. I've never owned a dressage saddle so I'm interested to hear what ya all have to say.

To narrow the field a bit I'm looking for leather (not synthetic). I'm not talking about price range because I really want your honest opinion on what your fav. brand really is.

My absolute FAVORITE saddle of all time is the DK Air Ride, it's cushioned by, not the classical cotton and all that jazz, but by air...It has to be re-filled every 3 months and it costs about 4 000$ but they are UBER comfortable. And I think that you can only get there where I live...

I personally own a Kincade dressage saddle. I'm in LOVE with it and it only cost 600$ Canadian. I love it and it's an amazing saddle for a first saddle. One thing to look out for is that they are made slightly narrower than normal and so I suggest getting a larger tree size than normal

Thanks for your input stargazer. I read some reviews on the DK saddle and they were phenominal. That one made my future wish list, although currently I couldn't take that financial risk. How often do you think one finds those on the market used and around how much do they generally go for?

Why don't you want snythetic? I have a Wintec Pro Dressage saddle that has a wonderful, sticky seat, well shaped, will fit any horse due to the Gullet System, and has panels filled with air that you don't have to refill.
I understand if you love leather (as do I - I'm a HUGE leather fan), but when it comes to price, the Wintec is an excellent option.

Price isn't really an issue as far as I'm concerned (although 4 thou. is pushing it a bit farther then my wallet can go). I don't mind synthetic I just love leather more. It's just one of my personal prefrences. I've always gotten leather.

I'm very sorry to disappoint you, but I have NEVER in my 4 years of dressage, I have never seen a DK for second hand sale. They last at least 20 years....Sorry...
A saddle that you could have a look at that is fairly close to a DK in quality and comforts, is a Regal saddle. They are really comfortable. I think that they go for a little less than the DK's (between 2 and 3 grand). It's my second choice and when I get my new horse, if I need a new saddle to fit my horse I am planning to get a Regal.

DK Air Ride (the $5000 saddle). Regal is just another saddle brand, although not one I'm familiar with.
