“Urgh”, Seth sulked, an only more noticeable than the usual frown on his face, why should he have to run errands for father? Seth ad said he wanted to go out more, but he never perceived his father use that as an excuse for this. Admittedly he’d never said anything about this “Game”, they’d lock him up in his room forever if he did express his interest in it. So now he was stuck obediently going to collect flowers, which would be a present for mother later on, from some flower store he’d been given directions to.
“Common people buy flowers, why don’t they just grow their own?”
Still, at least he was left to himself outside for once, he was so sick of having to hold someone’s hand wherever he went, be it family or hired guard. He walked along the street, hands in his pockets and his eyes half closed as par usual, ignoring the open stares he constantly received from people as he past.
“This should be it” he checked the note, on the back of which read “Seasons” the names matched. He headed inside, eager to get this over and done with. He'd have to get back home soon, three days without sleep was usually his limit.

Persy waited patiently at the counter, potted bouquet in hand, and offered a smile as the boy came in. He was a customer, and therefore she had to be polite. However, her brow furrowed as he entered, and she blinked, his power rather subtle and hard to detect. This kid might have been from Uppers, but he was certainly part of the Game.
"Your parents paid over the phone," she said, holding out the bouquet for him to take, "But I have to ask: were you forced to pick these up or did you offer to go in order to learn about the Game?" She kept her questions subtle, in case the boy didn't know what she was talking about. "You certainly look like one of the Players to me."

Seth gazed around the store, before seeing Persy at the counter. The contents of the shelves where the first things to intrigue him for a while, he’d never really seen many flower outside of his families garden. He took the bouquet the odd looking girl at the counter.
“Forced?...you could say that” He’d rather not go into the detail of his family life with a complete stranger. But she said something about that game he’d heard about, though only in fleeting conversations his parents had conserving him. And she referred to him a one if it’s players, what did she mean by he looked like one?
“You know about the game then?”

"Know about the Game? I help run it, kid."
A smug grin came over Persy's face as she gave a passing glance to one of her flowers and motioned to it. With a slow, fluid movement, it seemed to come to life, it's stem twining around her arm and the bulb resting in her outstretched hand. Once it lay still, Persy looked back up to the boy. "Because of that, I have powers like this...tell me, Seth, would you like powers of your own?"

”I help run it” he mentally repeated Persy. What luck, he’d ended up not just finding a source of information, but its very core at that. So it would seem that today would not be a complete dull waste of time.
He stared at the slowly growing flower, though his face stayed stuck in its usual unemotional state, it would take a lot more than that to break it.
“What kind of powers?” Seth thought in some ways he had powers, but being able to stay awake for three days hardly counted as a super power.

By Persy's will, the flower went back to it's original position, and Persy spent her energy leaning into the table, looking at the kid with a mild interest. "All sorts of powers, really, depending on the person: I know one kid who can breathe underwater. One of 'ems a shapeshifter, and one of our more recent players has the ability to run without ever getting tired. For you..." Persy's brow furrowed, and she concentrated. His aura was familiar...a Greco-Roman, that was to be sure.
"I'm pretty sure you'd have powers pertaining to making people sleep, if you joined the Game. It looks to me that you're bonded with Hypnos, though I'd have to talk with your god to be sure."

He listened intently to Persys brief mentioning of other people like him. He’d known there where at least other people with odd talents or appearances like his known, but had no idea of the variety there was.
”Sleep?” it certainly explained a few things about himself. He’d never really known the exact nature of his “Uniqueness” as his parents called it. But being tied to a god that was a possibility he’d never considered. Hypnos was a name he’d heard before. Greek mythology was just one thing he studied to ease the endless nights awake.
“Talk to him?” He repeated slowly, he knew he couldn’t press the girl much further, she had information he wanted, and that put her in a rare position of power of him.

"Yeah, I can talk to him, find out who he really is," Persy responded, looking over to a plain door leading to the back. She shuddered, a shiver running down her spine, and without being told, she knew a presence was there: the boy's god. They both had the same drowsy aura, and even looking in that direction made her yawn. "I'll be right back: he's here," she said lazily, the spell still having an effect on her mortal body, and she yawned once more before entering the room.
It was a minute or so before an emptiness indicated that the god had left the building, and a few seconds later, Persy re-emerged, her eyelids heavy as she leaned against the wall. Shaking her head to wake herself, she returned to the counter somewhat refreshed, if not still a little drowsy.
"It's definitely Hypnos," Persy confirmed, sliding a small article across the counter to land right in front of him. It was a silver ring, and if he looked close enough at the details, he would see curls of an incandescent material spiraled around the metallic feathers, a shimmering stone that changed colors depending on how the light reflected upon it. In fact, if one were to gaze upon it for too long, they would find themselves sleepy.
"If you take that ring, you'll be in the Game: you fight for your god to win, you work hard, and you also gain a connection with an immortal being to give you advice," she said, withdrawing her hands from the table to allow him to choose. "So, what'll it be?"

Persy nodded, though the grin ultimately faded, a grim expression setting into her face. "Your god should be able to speak to you now," she intoned, lazily twirling her hair with one finger. "Has he told you anything?"
It was strange, this boy. So far, none of her flowers or herself had been threatened, nothing had exploded, none of it. Where were things going to go wrong? Persy didn't like the feeling of anticipation: at least when they got right to pulling a bulb out, she could start off yelling. This kid was just too polite. Damn Uppers.

“Hmm”, he clenched his fist and admired his new ring.
“Talk to me?” he waited a few brief moments, half expecting some divine being to materialize right then and there. But Hypnos was preoccupied, at least for now, that was the breaks of dealing with a god of sleep.
“No, he hasn’t said anything…how will he speak to me?”
Seth had no reason to threaten Persy, she was providing information, and that made her a valuable asset to him for the time being .

"He'll talk to you when he wants to. Trust me, you'll know when he wants to," Persy shrugged, tending to a particular offshoot to occupy her time. She had nothing more to tell the boy, and that made him more of a nuisance than an obligation now.
"So, if you don't need anything, and you're not going to use the free question that each godling gets from me, you can leave now."

Seth didn’t like this uncertainty he got from this deal, he liked knowing what he was doing, or what was going to happen. But we was dealing with a God, and with things that, for all accounts, shouldn’t’ exist. Some uncertainly had to be expected. He’d have to wait for Hypnos for now.
“All right, bye” He took the bouquet of flowers in both arms and headed off towards the exit. He didn’t’ give the free question a second though, she’d already told him what he wanted to know, Hypnos was the one he wasn’t to talk to now.
