In an obscure part of town, you come across a small quaint shop, which sort of reminds you of those old fashion magic shops. The place looked old but in good shape, the place made of a dark wood with stained glass windows. Above the door on a dark wooden plaque are the words 'Sanctuary of Souls', likely the name of the shop. As you open the door the shop and step inside, a little bell rings to signal your arrival in the shop.

Glancing around the shop, you see myriad bookshelves along the walls, on which are books, crystals, vials of various colored liquids, various shaped figurines, and many other things. In the center of the room are a few dark colored cushy looking couchs around a wooden coffee table. Scattered around the room are a few statues, chairs, and plants. At the back of the shop is a small walkway with two stair cases, one leading to the upper floors of the shop, and one leading down into the depths of the shop.

A woman with long slighty wavy black hair wearing black oriental style clothing with white designs on them and glasses walks towards you from one of the couchs which she had been sitting on. "Irashaimasen!" she said in greeting in a silky voice with a small bow and a smile. With a gesture around the shop she added, "Welcome to the Sanctuary of Souls, my name is Reina, I am the shopkeeper." she waved at the couch opposite to the one she had been siting on previously, "Please, have a seat." she said, sitting back in the place she had sat before.

"Thank you, I will." Said the young faun, if a spirit of the forest such as himself could ever be considered young, who wandered into this shop not knowing initially what it was all about, and took the seat offered to him. After sitting on the plush, well carved chair he began to dwell in thought while his host sat across from him.

The shop itself initially held a curious draw on him, beckoning him to enter. Once he had passed through the doors opening he had found it to be a seemingly charming store, holding all the items typical to any other shop front if they knew how to draw a crowd, though the name of this particular store would do the trick, seeing as thats how he was lured. Upon closer inspection though the items seemed more antique than anything and he began to feel that they belonged in a museum somewhere, or maybe in a collectors possession.

He ran his fingers through his black curly top hair, glancing around the room once more before continuing the half conversation with the owner of the store. "So why is the store called Sanctuary of Souls?" Darrion asked, his voice still portraying his interest with the decor of the shop. " Is it like some sort of spa or salon?" Making a 'smart' comment he returns his traveling gaze to his host and awaits her response.

The atmosphere of the shop seemed almost as if it were alive, small amounts of pleasant smelling steam wafted about the shop, seeming to emanate from a tea tray on the coffee table. Some of the items in the shop actually looked ancient enough that you'd have thought they'd have turned to dust by now.

Reina smiled warmly at the faun over her glasses before waving her hand slightly at the tea tray, "Would you care for some tea?" as she gestured the pleasant scent of the steam wafted from the tea. Smelled like it had just been brewed. She let out a warmhearted laugh when he asked if it was a spa or salon, "No no, not a spa or salon. I suppose an antique shop would probably be a better description, though thats not quite right either." she said with a mysterious gleam in her eye.

"Well, I wasn't the one who actually choose the name, as I am not the founder of the shop, and I didn't really think to ask him before he left. But I have a thought as to why." she chucked softly before gesturing towards the back of the shop at the hallway, "It probably has something to do with what the shop specializes in... Which would be lost souls that are in need of someone to guide them."

"Not a spa or an antique store, eh? Must be a launders." He said playfully, a smirk appearing on his lips, his unruly yet tidy black curls shinning in the shops dim oak-y light that seemed to originate from a source unknown.

He then looked down at the tea presented to him, being a fan of the herbal drink himself it was hard to resist, but he was cautious when it came down to strangers that were eager for him to take a sip. She seemed nice enough though, so he accepted the cup, lifting the saucer up to about the level of his chin, gently tipping the cup towards his mouth with a pinky curled hand, trying to be as polite as possible to his hostess, and taking a silent sip.

After, he rested the saucer and cup on one of his furry knees and glanced back, where she had motioned, to a darkly lit hallway in a kind of Gothic style, echoing the feel of the store around him, yet seeming more ancient. A kind of shadow within the hall hid the main entrance's view of whatever might lay further down the way. 'A peculiar illusion,' he thought to himself, wondering why his normally good forest vision couldn't see any farther then the first few meters down. Catching himself squinting with his eyebrows furrowed he returns his attention to his host, with a renewed relaxed look, ignoring the hallway altogether.

"I'm guessing it wouldn't be just any random creature who saunters in that is qualified to guide a soul, now. That would be just popycock." He says, enjoying the atmosphere of the shop now, almost playing off of it, assuredly thinking that he will leave here as he had entered, alone. 'It's very unlikely that this woman has seen any glimpse in me worthy of guiding
anything, especially something as delicate as a soul.' He thought relaxing into the richly colored velvet chair.

"I'm curious now though," He said, the understatement of the century, "But how many souls might a store like this hold, and how does someone, myself for example, care for and guide such a thing?"

Reina chuckled merrily at his playful remark. "Might as well be sometimes." she said in amusement as she took her own cup and saucer from the tray. Some of the current inhabitants of the shop could probably make it into one if they were allowed, she amusingly thought. She sipped her tea as she watched his attention wander to the back of the shop and the hallway back there.

"Well, now it could be." she said as she crossed her legs and sipped her tea, "Most of those who come in the shop and leave with nothing, or with only a few items you see out here, are usually normal everyday people who didn't feel the lure of the shop making them come in, but rather that they were just curious what the shop held." she stated casually, gazing straight into his eyes, "Though for those who do get the chance, it their choice weither they actually take it and leave with a precious soul or weither they leave without one."

She had to think about the first of the two questions, as it was a hard question to answer, she said with a laugh, "Well, you simply care for them, as you would another living being." she said with a shrug, "You feed them, you watch over them and make sure they don't get into too much trouble, you provide them with a place to live, and all that."

"Well, that doesn't sound too hard of a task..." He looked her over once more intently while enjoying another sip from his cup. "How many do you have back there?" He asked, nudging his head towards the hall way. The questions that he had begun to ask were more focused. Now with the possible invigorating intent of hope in receiving one of these illustrious souls. He has been without company for some time and in the deepest corner of his heart he wished to be lonely no longer.

He
had felt that pull from the shop before he came in, and small questions began flowing through his head. 'Would she allow it? How would it react to me? Would it be a girl or a boy? What would they think about it? Where had the souls come from? How would it react to me and what I am.' There were so many questions that he was beginning to become slightly nervous, and even all the calming aura's in the shop couldn't keep a light sweat from forming on the poor faun's forehead.

Reina shrugged and glanced back at the hallway, taking a moment to think on the question, "Well, I'm not actually sure, as I haven't really counted, but there are quite a few back there." she said with another shrug. Perhaps she ought to actually count them sometimes, she kept track of the souls she sold, but she wasn't really one for counting numbers. After a moment she smiled pleasantly at the fawn, "Would you like to meet one?" she asked warmly with an expressive gesture towards the hallway at the back, "I can bring one out if you would like to?" she said as she placed her tea cup on the tray and stood up. She waited for his response before she would head to the hallway though.

He sat there for a moment, knowing this would be a great responsibility and that most likely his life will never be the same if he does take on a 'soul'. He looked up at her and finally nodded, crystal blue eyes contemplating what might be in store.

Reina smiled at him before turning and striding into the back and up a stairway, disappearing from sight. She was gone for a few minutes, the atmosphere of the shop wafting about him pleasantly in her absence.

Soon though her return was sounded as she could be heard coming back down the stairs. Being led behind Reina as she walked back to the couch was a woman with closed eyes and long curly red hair in a lovely long green dress with lots of lace. On her back were what appeared to be four sets of wings or so. She wore a pretty gold and purple necklace hanging from her neck and a purple jewel hanging from her hairline in the middle of her forehead.

After carefully sitting the fairy on the couch, Reina gently brushed her finger against the purple jewel. "Her name is Shaylee." The jewel shimmered slightly before eyes opened to reveal green pools.

(You can take over Shaylee now.)

The whole time the shop keeper was gone Darrion's mind was in a slight haze with the mix of excitement, curiosity, worry, and the shops calming atmosphere. He sat, starring into his cup, only diverting his attention from the tea swirling around in the delicate china when he heard the familiar foot steps returning into the shop. He swallowed hard, as he saw two shapes almost appearing out of the shadows of the hallway.

When they had both entered he was, for an instant, starstruck at the gorgeous angelic like face of the woman whom followed the shop keeper. His breath was stolen through his slightly open mouth and for a moment his heart had stopped. She was gorgeous! 'Could this really be a soul?' he asked himself. So many questions began to swim in his head, but when he discovered his mouth was agape, his face had reddened from starring and to hide it as best as possible he ran his clawed hand through his rich curls. The name the shopkeeper uttered was almost like a whisper above the nervous buzzing in his head and he had not noticed the gesture over the jewel on the forehead or the glowing of the jewel, but when the name sank in seemed like velvet. He glanced into the fairy like woman's eyes and became lost in their depths.

Shaylee's vision was blurred, and her hearing staunched at first. Light seeped in to her darkened orbs and soon her hearing was only slightly fuzzy. She slowly began glancing around her at her surroundings, blinking at the new harsh light. Then very daintily she rubbed her eyes whilst yawing, almost as if coming out of a deep sleep.

He had closed his mouth to find it bone dry and he quickly took a sip from his tea before talking. "She is... very beautiful." He stated, averting his flushed gaze to an interesting pattern on the floor. If you don't mind me asking...", He looked to the shop keeper, "How did you come by her?"

Reina smiled at his response to Shaylee. Everyone seemed to have different reactions to the souls that she showed them. She wasn't sure why that was, but it always intrigued her to see how each reacted. She thought for a moment at his question before answering, "I believe I found her soul wandering around in a rather lovely world that I visited some time ago." she replied with a smile, "It was a pity to take her soul from a place that fitted her so well, but she seemed so lonely wandering around by herself, so I just couldn't leave her there." she said wistfully with a light affectionate brush of Shaylee's curly hair.

She turned to look back at him, "Do you think that you would be able to take care of her?" she inquired of him with a warm look on her face.

He tried imagining the world that Shaylee had been found in but could only think of where he had come from, and even that reference was a blur.

The Faun shifted in his seat though when mentioning of ownership came into play. He, in the past, had only owned simple pets like plants and spiders and things that could take care of themselves. Never had he any children or a sibling or something of that nature to take care of. Could he do it? 'Well,' he thought, 'only way to find out is to try.'

He nodded "I'll be glad to try. What must I do?"

With a flourish Reina produced a parchment out of thin air and proffered it to the faun, along with an ornate pen that hadn't been there before in her other hand, "Just sign this and you are free to take charge of her." she said pleasantly. "I'm sure she will do better under your care than mine since I have so many charges to take care of I don't have enough time for each of them."

Now, off hand Darrion would normally deny anything signed by contract. He knew the trouble they could bring for many of his kind used them. But the shop owner had said nothing about using blood, or disclosure of deepest darkest memories must be revealed before, or anything of importance taken away from him. But he also understood that with any contract comes fine print, and that normally brings about bad luck.

He felt bad though, for the soul, being kept in a back room like leftover merchandise. Also the fact that the owner had already gone through so much for him, it would only be polite to accept.

So without a further moment he took the pen, looking it over quickly for any pin to p***k his finger and clasped the document in his hand. The fact that they had appeared out of nothing didn't phase him much, but seeing as he was what he was, not much did shock him. He brought the paper before him. It was a simple parchment and the text was calligraphic and beautiful. He put the tip of the pen to the paper and without any effort his name appeared on the parchment.

He stared confused for a moment, but his furrowed eye brows dissapeared when he remembered he was being watched. He then handed the pen and paper to the shop keeper.

Glancing at the girl sitting on the couch still in a daze of sorts he noticed her staring around with a confused look, as if she was lost or misplaced. The faun set the cup of tea down on the serving tray and stood up.
