How many of you have gone to anime conventions? are they near you, or do you have to travel a lot? who do you go as? what do you enjoy the most? any past experiences? Let's discuss (even though we've had a past thread on it... it's nice to keep updated with people's activities =P)
** i'll make some posts of conventions i went to later on...

I mostly go to Anime-Con, and CNAnime, these take place in downtown Toronto. There is another convention but I never gone to it. It's called Anime North in Mississauga (outside of Toronto).

I must be the only person in this guild who isn't a Canadian.
Until recently, I just haven't bothered going to anime conventions. The closest convention to where I live is Fanime, which is in San Jose (close proximity to Gaia HQ FTW). I might consider going to Anime Expo, but that's all the way down in Long Beach.

of course not October! there are quite a few Canadians...but mishu and Cagalli are also our prominent American AC supporters along with you!
the only convention that i go to is Anime Evolution. however, i do know that angel and lito also go to Sakuranima - a small convention that isn't as public, as it is by invitation only, and is MUCH more... exquisite let's say. lol, angel usually can take two people with her when she's invited; she's lucky to know someone working in ocean studios. it's pretty cool according to them, but i don't know. i like the more wild conventions better... funnier pictures.

^.^ American-Canadian love; we all love each other
well, the Sakuranima is the only convention i know that is held indoors ^^" it is quite a limited convention though, even with the free food.
the only anime-related groups that work with the convention are Ocean Group and Viz. so there's really only a few selected anime there. =P of course these are major companies though.
if you want to go the next time Lacus-chan, you can come =3 it is organized twice a year and it's a really unique convention ^^"
but yes, i also go to anime evolution. last time we went, lito was Cagalli, Lacus was...Lacus ^^" and i just came as an ordinary girl...carrying a haro ^^"

I've only gone once to a convention, and that was Anime North and that was last year. I do plan on going again this year... if I have the time, anyways. Honestly, I have so much going on I feel like I'll die. >_<

oh you should go mishu! some of them can be pretty wild from what i've heard, but there are plenty of good ones that are out there.
i loved the one where lito and i met matt hill... *sigh* i still have that signed poster on my wall...
awww poor Kali! =( i do hope the load lightens for you!
someone was telling me how impossible it is to cosplay lacus' commander outfits... ^^"
i don't know who would go through all the effort! i honestly can barely sew her first outfit! now the songstress one (that she sung Mizu No Akashi with)...THAT is impossible...

Matt Hill is so funny, I still have my autograph from him and the picture. Cosplay outfits are sometimes hard to make, but they look so pretty.

I wish I had the time to cosplay... it seems really nice. When I was in my Ouran obsession, me and my friends (who were also obsessed at that time) were planning out how to cosplay the group when we ran into the problem of hair... XD

Somehow, its always the hair that is the main problem with cosplaying

it isn't too back with me i suppose if i ever wanted to play anyone with pink hair; my natural hair colour is called "strawberry blonde", though i have brown eyes, which makes it slightly more difficult to match to a character. oh well...
hair, yes, always the difficulty, especially for those who have characters with spiky hair sticking straight up!
anyone going to their upcoming anime conventions this year?

I'll be going to Anime North next weekend. I'm excited, but we're still trying to figure out when to go, because we have people busy on Saturday and Sunday. I think we're aiming for Saturday night.
Last year, it was my first con so I didn't think to bring a camera... but I'll bring one this year. XD I also spent about $25 last year on pictures. Those pictures in the artists' alley are very nice. Too bad all the plushies are so EXPENSIVE... >_<

Oh yeah, my friend went last year to Anime North and she bought 2 plushies that each cost around $30-$35. One was Hatsuharu and Yuki from Fruits Basket. She said they were that expensive because they're hand-made
