Welcome to Que Cosa!

We are just a quaint little shop sitting on the corner of the street.
Inside there is the counter area to the left where you shall order any coffee/caffiene based beverages and snacks to go with it. Ahead is a lounging area with many couches and chairs. There are also some cabinets on the right wall with magazines, books, and board games contained inside. These are available to all paying customers but remember, you break it then you buy it.

On the back wall is the stage area where our musical talents will play, varying between local and known musicians/artists. Near the stage area are a few tables to sit at in order to watch.

We hope you enjoy your visit to Que Cosa!

Rick slowly pushed open the door to Que Cosa, eyes widening as he discovered that very few people were there indeed. Just several employees scattered about the place. With a slight frown of discontent, he searched...and found what he was looking for.

Vibes.

Also known as the vibraphone, the metal bars of the instrument glinted in the light, and he unslung his backpack, producing from it a bag filled with percussion mallets and sticks of all kinds. He slid out four thread-woven mallets: hard, but not too hard as to produce a clanking sound from the instrument, and took up his position behind it. He fiddled with them to get them into the proper cross-grip position, then began to play, the heads gracing the instrument as its metallic peals soon echoed throughout the shop.

Razzle Scott

Razzle sat mostly sober in a chair close to the stage. His short legs were pulled up in the chair, a cigarette dangled from between his lips.

~Hmm, now whats this dude up to?~ He thought to himself as he took another drag on his cigarette, blowing smoke over his shoulder when exhaleing. Even though this wasn't the Razz''s usual hang out it would for today.

"Not bad..." He mummbled watching the young man on stage intently.

The slow, pealing peace that he was playing was little more than a warm up for him, since it was actually meant to be accompanied by a singer, preferably female.

Unfortunately, he had seen very few females here, and therefore was unable to get someone for that part.

As he came to the ending note, he let it ring with the pedal depressed, then lashed out at the instrument with all four mallets, flying into a quick modern jazz piece. Like the others, it was meant to be accompanied by other instruments---with this song, a bass guitar and drum set. However, he made do as his headband thankfully absorbed the beads of sweat gathering on his forehead.

The young man on stage seemed to be playing rather well, but Razzle wasn't exceptionally knowledgable in the area of percussion instuments save for the drums. But even his know how of that was limited. Another drag was pulled from the cigarette before he put it out in the ash tray.
Razzle then set himself as he began to speak with a voice that was not as impish as the voice he usually spoke with.

"Good job my man!"

As he played, Rick looked down at the...heckler? Was it heckling if the comments were good? He didn't know, but all he gave was a nod of acknowledgement as his piece slowed down to a finish.

Interminable, he began on another piece, at moderate tempo, with a driving force behind it.

Ember shyly walked in the Que Cosa. The quaint little shop was peaceful and relaxing. It was exactly what she was looking for. With a small smile she walked further in looking about the little shop.

Her eyes immediately wandered to the boy who was playing. She watched amazed as he played. It seemed as if he glided over the metal keys barely hitting them with his mallets. She unknowingly walked closer and watched the deep concentration over come his face as he continued playing his beautiful tunes.

"beautiful" she mumbled out as the music seemed to lull her very soul. She always did appreciate beautiful music

He let the ending notes of the lilting song ring out for only a few seconds, then let up on the pedal, allowing the mallets to droop to his sides. He had been playing for a solid fifteen minutes, he was sure, and his soaked headband reflected the exertion that he had gone through, from both the pressure of the audience, and the sweltering stage lights. Without so much as another word, he slipped the mallets into their bag, slipped that in his backpack, slung it over one shoulder, and trudged off the stage, one hand in his pocket, the other with its thumb hooked around the backpack strap.

He emerged off the stage, and plopped down in one of the chairs at a table near the back. Hopefully, he wouldn't be the only one that performed on stage.

Ember stared as the man exited the stage and plopped down upon a nearby chair. She looked about and noticed a guitar in the corner of the room. With a nervous glance she went over to it and gently picked it up by the neck. Her fingers grazed over the strings causing a slight ring to sounds out. Sitting down on the stage she gently placed the guitar and strummed at the strings.

Slowly her experienced fingers were gliding up and down the strings as her eyes focused entirely on the guitar she had in hand. A simple tune came forth as if her fingers had weaved it from the very strings.

Rick's eyes lifted as he heard the woman playing. She was good, he could give her that. The tune also had something unique to it. Almost immediately, he could imagine a harmonization that could go along with it...except...he couldn't quite...grasp the notes. It was like writer's block, except with music. He knew what to do...and almost slammed his fist against the table in frustration. Why couldn't he think straight?! Restraining a bit of rage, he picked up his backpack once more, and promptly slipped outside. He needed fresh air. He needed to think.

Ember jumped at the sound of the mans getting up. She hadnt relized people where still here. In fear she annoyed him she sat the guitar down and watched him leave. Guilt filled her as she walked after him, ready to apologize if her music offended him in anyway. She walked out the door and looked for him.

Rick stuck his head back inside Que Cosa before slipping inside. He immediately sat down at one of the tables near the back to think to himself.

It had been an eventful first day in this place. He had met three people, all of whom were females. Only now had he realized that, and it ever so slightly frightened him.

He shook his head, clearing it of the mud-like thoughts. He immediately cast about glances for anyone important-looking. This person would be the one he would talk to, in order to see if he could get a job here based on his performance a bit ago.

Alex walked back to town, taking in the sights. Ok, so it wasn't a big tourist attraction, but that kinda made it better. It was real, with real people and real buildings, not fake like in hollywood or Las Vagas or anything based around tourisium. Sure this place did have a small section for tourists but it didn't overwelm the rest of the place. It was refreshing, she thought.

She almost walked past the place in her musings, but stopped when she thought she saw someone she recongised through the window. Ah yes, it was Rick, he did say a few minutes ago he would be in town.

Alex walked in, deciding to take up his offer and sat down at his table smiling.

"Hi again, hope this seat isn't taken. Quite a nice little place here." Conversation starter was talking about the weather or about where they were and Alex was fully apt with small talk.

He nodded, "Yeah, if I settle here, I'm gonna be here a lot. See that vibraphone on stage? You don't find those in very many places---but this place has it. It's one of the instruments I graduated with a Performance degree in. Hopefully, one of the guys that works here heard my performance and is in a good enough mood to employ me. If that happens, I'll be set," One could tell by the way he was opening up that music was a major part of his life. His streak was cut off when his stomach suddenly rumbled.

Oh, right, when WAS the last time I ate? He thought to himself as he glanced about for a place to order snacks, drinks, or anything else that would serve as sustenance---if only temporary.

Alex looked over at the vibraphone and nodded with an interested sound. Turning back to Rick she smiled. "Music's big for you huh? Well I wish you luck with getting the job. You'll have to let me hear you play before I go, what sort of music is it you play anyway?" She noticed his glances and realised that she herself was hungry, the last time she ate was on the plane. "Um, I guess we go to the bar and order, look there's a menu on the blackboard." She got up and went over, umming over which sandwich she faniced more.
