The sun was coming up now and Hicks had just finished his smoke outside of the base. He hadn't slept well but he never did when it was the night before a mission. It wasn't because he was afraid or because his nerves were shot but for some reason he could never sleep.
Hicks entered the base and walked over to the APC and smiled at it. He was looking forward to the mission ahead and couldn't wait for his comrades to join him.

The sun was up and Bond had just woke up. He took a shower and got dressed. He streched, grabbed a bite to eat, and went to the APC. He gave a friendly nod to Hicks and said, "How's it going, Hicks?" Bond took out a pack of smokes and lit one. He offered the pack to Hicks. "Want one?" He asked Hicks.

Hicks smiled at Bond and took a cigarrette and lit it up. "Thanks. I am doing fine Bond. I am a little sore from our last mission..." Hicks trailed off and instinctively touched his wound from their last mission. It wasn't completely healed over and slowed him down a little bit but he was still able and ready.
He decided to change the subject and said to Bond with a nod "How are you doing?" after exhaling a cloud of smoke.

Bond looked at Hicks and replied, "I'm doing well, thank you for asking." He took another drag on his cig and exhaled a cloud of smoke. "I'm hoping to get a mission underway at my base. Would you be interested in going on that mission with me?" Bond took another drag on the cig and blew out a cloud of smoke.
"So, what have you been up to lately?" Bond asked. He hoped that Hicks wouldn't mind that he was asking about Hicks personal life. ((In the guild that is. Not real life.))

Jack grabbed his gear from the armory after making a personal call, and jogged to the waiting APC where he gave a walking salute to Hicks and Bond. He stowed his gear in the APC and was strapping his pistol on as he walked out. "So, you guys ready to deal with some cranky Marines?" he asked, lighting his own cigarette with his custom-made zippo lighter, a small inscription writton on one side, and the EGA* on the other, with two short words under that. He slipped it back into his pocket before the two could get a good look at it however, and leaned against the APC.

Hicks looked at Bond through a cloud of smoke and held his gaze for a moment. He then said "A mission, eh? I would be more then happy to help you Bond. And as far as what I have been up to..." he took a drag on his smoke and exhaled "...I have been focusing on recovering from our last mission and have been healing pretty well."
A smile came across Hicks's face when Jack walked up. "I am more then ready for this mission. How are you doin'?" Hicks said with a slight chuckle.

"Good, I just found out that my son's dog will arrive here tomorrow." He smiled. "So It'll give me something to look foreward to, other than blowing s**t up, of course." He chuckled out the last bit, taking another drag of the cigarette before shaking his head again. "You guys want to go over the mission quickly before we start?" He asked, not knowing what the plan was.

Hicks coughed and threw away the end of his cigarrette. "Yeah alright. We are after a M1 Abrams tank and a few soldiers we are looking to recruit. The soldiers are being kept near the tank in a small prison so we are going break them out and steal the tank. We have the M113 APC to use..." Hicks said as he pointed to the vehicle "...so we will have some armor with us on the mission. Sound alright?"

Jack let out a low whistle. "An Abrams? s**t, that'll give us something to reach out and pummel that empire..." he said chuckling, now that they were bulking up their forces, it was very clear that all-out assults on enemy strongholds would be completely within CONFLICT's power. Hell, Jack might even get promoted to lead the greens into combat. He smiled at the thought, and turned to walk into the APC. "Well, we ready to kick some a** and recruit grunts?" He asked with a short laugh, sitting in the driver's seat.

Before getting into the passenger seat of the APC Hicks looked at his comrades once again with a smile. He was happy to have the two men at his side and was reminded of the old days when he and McClane used to be a two man team back when they were still green. They were so young and full of high hopes and aspirations. It was hard to even remember those days and they seemed like they were a life time ago.
A long sigh left Hicks's lips and he climbed into the passenger seat.

Bond looked at Hicks and Jack. He was also remembering a time where he and his troops were going deep into enemy terrtory. Bond remembered that one of his best friends was in the troop with him. At the end of the mission, only Bond and his friends came back. There were 50 men in that troop.
Bond let out a long sigh and said, "Let's get this show on the road." Bond then climbed into the APC and sat down.

Jack nodded and started the APC up, letting it rumble for a moment before kicking it into gear and hitting the gas, sending the APC out of the base and towards their target, his mind cleared of everything but the mission. Jack was like this usually, nine times out of ten he was thinking about the mission and nothing else, personal thoughts were usually saved for when he was in that bar and had a glass of bourbon nearby, just in case...

Hicks looked out of the passenger seat window as the APC sped along. He could feel the weight of his magnums on the inside of his jacket pressing against his chest and thought about the last mission that his team had been sent on. He hoped that this mission would go more smoothly then the last and that his men would all make it home in one piece.
The M-16 that Hicks had picked up from the armory was resting against the side of his seat and made a metallic scraping noise against the floor of the APC. Hicks hefted it up and loaded a fresh magazine into it.

Bond had his M-16 slung over his shoulder. He also had his .45 colt tucked under his right arm and his personal Desert Eagles at both of his hips. He looked at his chest, where he had been shot on the last mission and thought, "I hope during this mission, I won't get shot." Bond looked at the ground and gave a huge sigh. He looked at his watch, where there was a photo of his wife, Leora, and said outloud, to both Hicks and Jack, "Do you think she'll be mad at me if I do something extreamly stupid on this mission and end up getting shot?"
