Force Powers Explained
Through the next set of post will be some force powers. Now you will have to choose 6 and only 6 powers from the list if you are a apprentice and that means only from the core powers list. If you move up the rankings then you will be able to pick out stronger powers from the other lists.

Once you have become a higher ranking you may choose only 6 powers from the list per rank jump. If you are a Jedi then you are only allowed to get powers from the Light Side,Universal Side, and Core Powers. If you are a Sith you are only allowed to gather powers from the Dark Side, Universal Side, and Core Powers. If you are a apprentice then you are only allowed to get powers from the Core powers.

The force powers will be ranked on a Force Scale meaning if you are a Jedi Padwan only a specific group of the force powers will be allowed to you. If you are a Padwan and you rank up then you can learn a new set of powers. Everyone starts out as a Padawan or apprentice until I say you are ranked higher.

The Force Point System

This is how it's gonna work, I am going to add a specific amount of point's that every rank get's and how much point's it would cost to use a specific force power. Please follow this chart when you battle. You cannot replenish point's during a battle, if they are gone they are gone until you stop fighting and rest for a good period of time. (T) means time powers meaning if you use this power for a long time you will lose all of your points.

The Force Explained

Force powers were the manifestations of a Jedi, Sith, or other Force-adept's connection with the Force. According to the theory that the Force is one, the light and dark powers did not actually describe the Force, but rather, defined how an individual used it; whether to directly harm his enemies, or help himself overcome situations. Thus the aggressive or vengeful abilities inherently belonged to the dark side, while those which were healing, defensive, self-empowering, or diversionary belonged to the light side.

For example, a Dark Jedi could cast powers that inherently belonged to the light side (like Persuasion). Kyle Katarn, who allied himself with the light side, made use of dark side powers such as Grip and Lightning, possibly because of his experience while fighting Maw, and later on Dromund Kaas. This indicated that skillful Jedi of strong character could use these abilities according to their wisdom since their high experience prevented them from drifting towards the dark side.

I'm stepping in to add some game rules to this. For jedi who have dark side powers, and sith who for some reason may have light side, the cost for each power is doubled to use your opposing side. This is for game balance issues. And because using the light side is extremely taxing for dark siders, and dark side is very tempting for light siders.

Core Powers

The Core powers were the first powers a Jedi learned, and directly affected his own body or objects without actually harming or benefiting anything (except for Push, which could be used against enemies).

Core Powers

Telepathy

Telepathy was the very basic ability to mentally communicate over small or vast distances with other individuals. Every Force user, Jedi or Sith, was able to use it. The range of telepathy itself is theoretically infinite, but the telepath must be able to sense the presences of those they wish to contact. Thus, communicating with non-Force-sensitives became nearly impossible over distances greater than a handful of kilometers, and the typical upper limit for Force-sensitives was approximately 1,000 kilometers. However, individuals who are siblings, lovers, or lifelong friends, or who were once master and apprentice, have been known to communicate across ranges far longer than that, and, in extreme cases (such as the twin bond between Jacen and Jaina Solo), the link is apparently limitless.

Saesee Tiin, Plo Koon and Kit Fisto were 3 of the most skilled Jedi telepaths.

Some species, such as the Iktotchi, the Quermians, and the Draethos, had evolved a natural telepathic ability, common even to those of their number who could not touch the Force. (When trained as Jedi, their natural talents were often magnified a thousandfold or more).

Because telepathy was such a basic use of the Force, Luke Skywalker was able to employ it to reach out to Leia Organa and call for her help during the Subjugation of Bespin. Dark Lord Vader then (as Luke and the group were escaping) called out to Luke to again convince him to join him and embrace the dark side. The fact that the three were related allowed them to reach out over even greater distances.

Core Powers

Telekenesis

User Image
Anakin Skywalker performing Force telekinesis.

Telekinesis, abbreviated TK, was a neutral ability that most Jedi had. With it, they could lift objects according to their concentration and move them, hovering the items in any direction.

While training him on Dagobah, Yoda told Luke Skywalker that the size/weight of an object is only relevant in the mind of the practitioner, and that once the mental distinction about an object's size can be let go of, objects of any size can be moved. Yoda demonstrated this by lifting Luke's X-wing out of the swamp. Anakin Skywalker used it when he lifted a piece of fruit to cut for Padmé, and returned it to her. Jedi Master Corran Horn was one Jedi who was weak in telekinesis, a long standing inability in his family's Jedi history. Dooku employed it during his battle against Master Yoda on Geonosis. Palpatine used it against Master Yoda in his battle in the Senate Building. Kreia used it while battling against the Jedi Exile. Also, Darth Nihilus used it to lift his flagship off the ground. Carnor Jax, a former Royal Guard and aspiring Sith Lord had some telekinetic powers .

Jax using telekinesis. This ability was the base for Force Pull, Force Throw and Force Push, as well as telekinetic lightsaber combat techniques such as Saber Throw. It could be disputed that these are all the same power applied to different means.

Core Powers

Force Pull

User Image
Mace Windu uses Force pull on his lightsaber.

Force Pull was a telekinetic ability using the Force that could cause a material body to draw close to the caster. The greater the user's aptitude with this, the heavier the object that could be pulled or the more wide arc or radius of the force 'wave'.

It could be used to pull the weapons from enemies, or, at higher levels of skill, the enemies themselves to be brought closer to the Jedi's lightsaber range. This power was also very useful when a chasm or hole lay between the caster and the enemies.

Core Powers

Force Push

User Image
Theen Fida Force-pushing a Yinchorri enemy.

Force Push was the ability to create a telekinetic impulse via the Force, launching a concussive burst of pressurized air-not unlike the blast of an archaic 'pipe bomb'-that would impact a target with enough force to knock it over, launch it into the air, or even (particularly in the case of fragile materials such as ceramics) shatter it into pieces. The greater the user's telekinetic aptitude, the larger the pressure differential, and thus the stronger the effect and the heavier the target. With practice, a skilled Force user could increase the range and arc of the blast without lowering the average kinetic energy, creating a blanketed wave instead of a focused impulse. Truly gifted practitioners could generate a concussive blast that would radiate from them for dozens of meters in all directions, detonating with the force of a conventional explosive.

This power was an effective tool for keeping enemies at a distance. A well-aimed push could have sent the target crashing into a nearby wall or other obstruction, resulting in bludgeoning damage and possible disorientation or blackout. Particularly ruthless Force-users would use a well-timed Force push to send their enemies tumbling off penthouse balconies or into deep chasms. Beyond offense, this power had many utilitarian applications, such as activating a control panel that would ordinarily have been out of reach, or pulverizing heavy debris and other obstructions too large to remove without specialized equipment.

An Imperial Knight uses Force Push to repel enemiesA trained Force user can resist Force Push, presumably by generating an opposing pressure surge whose wavefront cancels out their opponent’s attack. The opponent usually responds by ramping up the pressure to compensate for the increased resistance. From here it becomes a telekinetic arm-wrestling match, with a seemingly motionless facade belying the combatant’s desperate struggle to overpower the other. As events progressed, a pocket of air equidistant from the opponents would have been slowly compacted until the pressure reached sufficient strength to bend duranium like kshyy vines. As the pressure increased, the pocket would begin to rapidly destabilize, until even a slight breeze would cause it to rupture. When the pressure reached a critical threshold, the bubble would burst, generating a powerful shockwave. A textdoc example was provided by Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi when their duel progressed into the control room of the mining platform on Mustafar. The two had simultaneously used the ability while resisting each other's at the same time. Like magnets of the same pole, the combined force eventually hurled them violently to opposite sides of the room.

Core Powers

Force Jump

User Image
Obi-Wan Kenobi utilizing a Force jump to quickly exit his starfighter.

Force Jump used the Force to augment the user's natural leaping ability. Force users adept in this technique could perform awe-inspiring vertical/horizontal leaps with impunity. The user could leap tremendous distances when combining this technique with that of Force Speed.

Force Jumps were most widely employed during lightsaber battles. This ability was essential for practitioners of Form IV lightsaber combat, like Yoda and Darth Sidious.

Core Powers

Force Speed

User Image
Mace Windu uses Force speed to jump on a seismic tank during the Battle of Dantooine.

Force Speed was a Force power that allowed the user to maintain sprinting speeds (even moving in awkward directions like backwards) for a brief time. Greater aptitude granted greater boosts to speed and/or greater duration. The power also apparently enabled the user to run for extended distances with no visible signs of tiredness.

The increased speed of the Jedi enabled him to see the world and the entities around him in slow motion. This allowed the Jedi to dodge attacks easier, and attack quicker with greater accuracy.

The duration and the amount of speed were subject to the user's skill in the Force. With sufficient skill, one could actually run on vertical surfaces for brief periods of time.

Core Powers

Force Sense

Force Sense was one of the most basic Force abilities for a Jedi. It could be used to feel another being's feelings, the future, ripples in the Force caused by momentous or traumatic events, impending danger and the presence of the dark side. A concentrated, directed form of this ability was likely how Jedi were able to Force See others. Yoda could even use this power to feel the deaths of individuals and identify them.

Core Powers

Force Seeing

User Image
Miraluka Force Sight (note that this screenshot does not represent actual events and is meant solely for demonstration.)

Force Seeing was a basic Force ability, perhaps related to Force Sense. It enhanced the bearer's visual and spatial perception even in the dark or behind walls. 'Seeing' with the Force was a useful skill for as Obi-Wan Kenobi said, "Your eyes can deceive you. Don't trust them". Trained users could have their sight amplified and were able to counter Force Persuasion and Force Blinding powers.

The Miraluka relied on this power constantly in lieu of their physical blindness. They could not perceive colors, viewing the world in shades of gray, but could distinguish organics (even dead) and their alignment (individuals aligned toward the light side appear blue, darksiders appear red, and neutral individuals appear grey, as shown in the picture) from the surrounding environment by their characteristic glow. Most objects, including doors and walls, appeared translucent, allowing to see through them.

While the Miraluka had this ability as inherent, it could be taught; for instance, Visas Marr taught the Jedi Exile to use it. Kreia also utilized the Miraluka version of Force Sight after her eyes atrophied.

Core Powers

Force Emphathy

Force Empathy was a Force power related to Force Sense, but involving picking up impressions and traces of information about the object touched and the events that have surrounded it. The Kiffar were able to use this power, and, particularly, Quinlan Vos was skilled with its use.

Master Yoda exhibited Force Empathy during the Battle of Geonosis while sensing the tension between Obi-Wan and Anakin during their pursuit of Count Dooku. The argument between the two resulted from Padmé's fall from an LAAT gunship. After experiencing the situation from afar, Master Yoda decided to intervene.

Years later, Luke's infant son, Ben Skywalker was able to use Force Empathy and as a result Ben shyed away from the Force.
