Sirath flicked his wrist, causing three shuriken to fly towards a nearby tree. He jumped back a few feet as he put his hand down towards the holster on his right thigh, watching the shuriken carefully. He hissed under his breath as two of the three shuriken imbedded itself into the trunk of the tree while the third one flew through a bush. "Stupid," he muttered to himself as he took out a few more shuriken and threw them at the tree, this time only one imbedding into the tree below the first two.

It seemed that he was getting tired. He had been training since early that morning. Wiping away a bit of sweat from his upper lip, he glanced up at the sky to see that it was nearly at its peak. Sighing, he walked over to the tree and examined his work. Almost all of this thirty shuriken were in the tree. A few were scattered on the ground from missed attempts, but at least it was an improvement. Slowly, he began to collect his shuriken, his attention on his surroundings wavering slightly.

It had been nearly a month since Jovi had come to rest near the outskirts of the village, keeping close to Sid whenever she could, but also finding herself extremely curious about the village... and most of all; her son. She hadn't a clue what had happened to him the day her and Sid went rogue, and had told herself he was old enough to make it on his own, but the woman still couldn't keep her mind at rest about the subject. Slowly, she had krept her way around Konoha's defeanses and little teams that went out to patrol the borders, and find it quite easy to do after awhile of watching and figuring out their patterns.

It was on such a day, when she just had to make it her way out towards a random part of the forest alone, to make sure there wasn't any unexpected danger for her and her partner, that she happened upon a scene that had caught her attention like the hook of a fishing pole in mid-cast. Through her blue tinted sunglasses, the rogue spotted a flash of shuriken, and further ahead, a sight that nearly had her dropping the Shadow Medium jutsu out of sheer surprise. At the moment, she didn't question how or why her son was out here, but Jovi moved towards the end of the tree branch she had been resting on, though keeping herself well hidden. The thing about Jovi was, that her best element was that of hiding, for most of the time she would only be spotted if she wanted them to see her. Of course, she was torn between her obligation as a rogue to stay hidden, and the compassion she felt for Sirath. How was he doing? Was he alright? Slowly, she came to her decision. For now, she would watch, and make sure he was alright from afar before approaching.

As soon as Sirath had gather almost half of his shuriken, he got the odd feeling that he was being watched. He stopped halfay crouched down towards the ground as he quickly scanned the area. He was foolish to let down his guard a slight bit. There could have been ANBU in the area and he couldn't have sensed them until it was too late. Stiffening his body, he picked up the shuriken his hand was stretched towards and decided to let the others be. He could always get more later from a small village in the country.

Now his attention was focused on who was in the area. Slowly, he began to move towards the dense part of the forest, not sure of who was there. He couldn't be too safe when it came to him surviving without the protection of the Konoha shinobi. He knew that was a weak thing to have in his mind when it came to his survival. He knew that if he had stayed in the village, he wouldn't have achieved anything at all. Now that he was on his own, he felt like a free man-yeah, a free man with ANBU on the look-out for him. The other shinobi knew that he would follow the path of his parents, but not at that young of an age.

Sighing, he crouched down low in a bush, hiding all of his body. He knew he could have used a jutsu to hide himself, but that was useless now that someone had spotted him. If he had caught the other shinobi before it saw him, he would have gotten away quicker. Now he would have to wait until either the shinobi revealed him or herself or the shinobi left the area. Sirath hoped the latter would come rather than the former.

Briefly Jovi watched as her son seemed to notice her, well, maybe not entirely, but he moved well enough. She wasn't sure what she should do though, he seemed to be getting along alright, though it came as a bit of blow when a thought stretched across the vastness of her mind. What was he doing out here on his own anyway? A mission? From behind her blue-tinted sunglasses, her crystaline orbs narrowed slightly in thought. A mission on his own, was highly unlikely, and she hadn't liked where her thoughts had taken her from there. For a moment, she seemed to have lost where he had gone while being momentarily distracted, but her head had moved along with his him involuntarily, and her jutsu made it easy to pin-point his location once again. The Shadow Medium, a jutsu she wished, if what she thought was true, he could have had instead of his father's. Certainly, it was nigh impossible to sneak up on a person who used it.

With the corners of her mouth flicking between a smile and a frown, she struggled her decision. If she left now she would be doing him no harm, but if she stayed out of curiousity, the encounter might leave him with less then he already had. In the end, she allowed compassion to take over, a feeling a mother couldn't quite entirely get rid of. It was the order of presenting herself that now served to be the difficult task. If she climbed down to slowly, and all he saw was a bit of pant leg or an arm, he might attack, but if she came down suddenly she might spook him. In the end, the rogue Jounin took a simple leap from her tree branch, quick enough to get out of harm's way if he had spotted her too soon, but not quick enough to just appear out of nowhere.

It was in the dim light of the sun that shone through the tiny holes in the forest tops, that her blue-tinted sunglasses, and slashed through headband shone with a tiny glint. She was taking a risk by doing this, but then again, she always moved quickly, so be it kunai shuriken, she would flicker away like nothing had happened. What she had to do now, in her small crouch she had used to catch herself, was wait to see what he would do.

Sirath heard a soft sound of feet on wood and then a quiet thud on the ground. He quickly let one of hand fly to his shuriken holster as he scanned the area carefully. He could see the outline of a shinobi from where he was crouching, yet he couldn't see who it was. He wanted to stand up slightly to see who it was, but that would be putting him at risk if it was an ANBU shinobi that had came into the small clearing.

After a few tense moments, he finally caved in and slowly rose his body up a little bit until his eyes were above the top of the bush. He glanced in the direction of the shinobi to find that it was a woman. She looked a little familiar as he winced from the shine of light that came from the woman's glasses. It had been a while since he had seen his mother, so he had forgotten her face a little bit.

Slowly, after seeing her crossed out headband, he rose up an inch as he slid a few shuriken from his holster. He wanted to say something to her, but chose not to. He had no idea who she was or where she came from.

It was a start at least, to see him rise from the bushes without throwing anything at her first. Perhaps her guard had been let down slightly in her son's presence, for surely acting how she had, and so brashly, could have led to mistakes. Mistakes that most assuredly could have left one or the other with a few battle marks before the encounter had ended. Now she wasn't much of a talker herself, nor did she honestly know what to say after all this time, so the rogue kept to her slight crouch, though with no visable weapon in sight. If anything, she wanted to study him and his reactions, to gage just how fit he was to survive on his own, and most of all to see if her theory was true about him being out here on his own. And as it was, for when he rose she caught the sight of his headband, that the shadows whispered details to her. A slash mark it would seem, had been described, asides from some other useless details she choose to ignore at the moment.

A slow, almost grim flicker of a smile spread itself onto her parted lips. "Its been awhile, Sirath", she offered past the silence that engulfed them at the moment. Even now, when she guessed he might finally know her intentions, she had other thoughts swirling around. There was always the possibility, that he didn't want to see her, but the woman sorely did not want to believe that. With the tiniest flick of her head to the side, she moved a bit of stray hair that had found itself in her line of vision. Thinking clearly in a time such as this, when she had not seen her son in so long, was probably the only reason she had showed herself in such a manner, and why she had yet to do anything about it. Persay, moving away from that particular spot.

Sirath slowly rose his hand up to fling his shuriken at the woman when he noticed a smile on her lips. He wondered what she was smiling for when he heard her speak. 'How does she know my name, unless...' He let his thought fade away as he noticed that her eyes were almost the same color as his own.

Letting his feeling blind his senses, he slowly rose up a little bit more as he slunk out of the bush. "Mother," he whispered in a soft voice. He had no idea why she was here. He thought that she was dead, like he thought that his father was. 'If mother is still alive, then that must mean that father is, too.' He bit his lower lip slightly as many thoughts entered his mind.

"Why are you here? I thought you would have fled this area a long time ago." His eyes were filled with grief and sorrow. He was glad to see his mother after a long time, but he didn't want her to see him like that. He suddenly felt aweful about becoming an outcast of the Konoha village, but he hoped that his mother would understand his actions for leaving the village behind.
PostPosted: Sat Apr 28, 2007 11:55 pm

Past the tinted shades that sat upon her nose, the woman was able to see his actions quite clearly, even in the dark of the forest. Of course, it was when she had spotted his hand about to release a shuriken, that her legs almost propelled her back into the trees, and away from his existance. Luckily though, for both of them, she hadn't done such a thing yet and at this point in time had no intention on doing so. For after all, it was too late now that he recognised her. Without so much as a backwards thought to that detail, Jovi allowed herself to come out of her crouch, seemingly studying him in a better light then before. Yes, she knew now why he was out here, but nothing could be done to reverse it, and she told herself not to dwell on the detail; despite how much she was bound to do later.

With his question, she slowly took a look around, to make sure there were no signs of ANBU or other Konoha ninja lurking about. Not that she had a need to do so with her jutsu active and all, but because her mind was to distracted to focus on most of the whisperings of their detail. "I should be, but a mother's curiousity is never fully quenched when it comes to dealings of the heart", she spoke softly as well, for keeping a low profile was probably the best thing to do now, even if that meant speaking a bit crypiticlly. Though she was sure to keep it fairly simple as she did so. When she saw, or rather heard, that the threats the forest carried were a good distance away, she took a seat on the ground, and inclined with a small jerk of the head for him to join her. Again, hiding had always been one of her greatest atributes, thanks to her jutsu and all she could do with the shadows of such a vast forest. "Truth be told, its safer around Konoha then some of the other villages, with the war thats going on and all", she explained with a small shrug of her delicately thin frame; it was no longer her war to fight.

Seeing Jovi glance around the area for other shinobi, Sirath did the same in case his mother missed some areas that other shinobi might be hiding in. He knew what her special jutsu could possible do, but he had learned a long time ago to play it safe and keep an eye out for ANBU and other Konoha shinobi that may be lurking in the shadows.

After making sure that they were alone, he turned his gaze back to his mother to hear her answer to his question. He raised an eyebrow slightly as she said that it was a mother's curiousity that she was here at this very moment. he held back a shudder. would he feel the same way if he every found someone to love and had a child? He hoped that wouldn't happen.

Seeing her slightl jerk of her head, he slowly walked over to her, but kept a three-foot gap between them. After a slight hesitation, he lowered his body onto the ground, but then stopped as he felt his double-bladed sword dig into the earth. Quickly, he took it off, set it between him and his mother, and then sat down on the ground, his legs crossed indian-style. He canted his head to one side as he heard his mother explain that this area was safer to be around with the war going on. He nodded his head, agreeing with her. "I wonder what would have happened to me if I had stayed in the village rather than wander off on my own, like you and dad did," he commented in a soft, dreamy-like voice.

Now Jovi wasn't exactly the best example of a sound individual, that is, unless dwelling on subjects until they ate at her from the inside, and keeping to strong bonds that had been formed many years ago, was considered a healthy practice by any means. It partly had to do with her own childhood and how she was brought up, but her personality as well led to its development. For awhile longer she seemed to just sit there until he got himself situated, her eyes completely covered by the tinted shades by now, and the sheathed blade at her side hooked under one of her thighs when she shifted slightly to get a better look at the area around them. Muttering a few choice words, as well supplying more chakra to her on-going jutsu, a thin cover of darken shadow enveloped them from all sides, save the top for breathing purposes. It was almost like a camaplage, for the dark tint made it difficult to make out details.

Returning her gaze to her son, Jovi gave him a quizzical look, apparently having pondered that at the back of her mind after seeing the slash mark on his headband. "Can't say really", for honestly hadn't a clue as to what the village would have done. Leave him alone? Take him in? Such thoughts dimmed her active feelings of curiousity. "How have you been?" It may have been small talk, but there were so many details she wanted to know. How long had he been off on his own? What state was Konoha in when he had left? Was he taking of himself? But of course, she would not drown him in senseless questions, after all, he was old enough to take care of himself.

Sirath remained calm and still as his mother created a shadow-barrier around them. He still kept his senses up, in case something went wrong. He didn't want to take any chances and relax in the middle of the leaf village country with ANBU roaming around. Seeing a confused look on his mother's face, he sighed softly to himself.

Shaking his head, he shrugged slightly and let his hands rest on the ground lightly. Her question was something he had been expecting her to ask, yet he was expecting her to word it more differently than what she did right then. Did he really want to tell her the truth? Did he want to tell her that he had absolute no control over his special jutsu? No, that would only make her more worried about him. Instead, he plastered on a fake smiled, a hint of sadness in it. "I've been doing fine, other than the small squad of ANBU that is always on the look-out for me. Things have been rather interesting since I've left the village. I don't really remember much of it, but all I know is that chaos was starting all due to the war."

With a slight tilt of her head, Jovi kept her full attention on her son, having learned to rely on her Shadow Medium jutsu's ability to whisper about the presence of intruders then her own eyes; but then again, a bad past makes for a bad paranoia. And at the moment, she didn't much feel like jumping at every little thing she thought looked like an ANBU or member of Konoha. With a nod of her head at what was said, she didn't press him for any further details. "The heat dies down eventually, but even your father and I have to be careful despite the number of years its been", she commented, not having much of a stomache for detail herself. She didn't want to tell him how she had missed sleeping in a soft bed, or living one day in peace. That would have been selfish, and at the moment she didn't want to probe at any of those sore spots he might have for himself.

Sirath tightened his grip on his legs as he heard that his parents were still being pursued. He wasn't surprised by this, yet at the same time he had expected most, if not all, of the ANBU that were following them to have diverted their attention towards him instead of them. Shaking his head slightly, he reached inside of his holster, took out a small dagger and began to draw designs on the ground. "Is it true what happened to the village? I heard...I heard it got burned down to the ground," he asked his mother, his gaze drifting towards her. He held no emotion on his face nor in his eyes, but there was a hint of curiousity in his voice.

((<.<;; Sorry for the wait, I've been kinda busy))

When it came to defeases and keeping a look out, perhaps Jovi was a bit to lax, but at the moment she really didn't want to focus on anything else. That is, asides from the quiet murmurs of her jutsu, and any warning signs it might have for her, be they in danger of some sort. At his question though, her pale blue eyes peaked over the rim of her tinted sunglasses, to pear at him through her own curiousity. "Pretty much, dependending on what all you've heard", she hadn't a clue if he knew Warrious had gotten out of control or not, but the woman gave a small sigh, withholding her own emotion about the thing. Heck, the slightest mention of Warrious was usually enough to get a shutter out of her. "From what I know though, Konoha has begun rebuilding, and most of the villagers are engulf in that." That might have distracted some of the Anbu, she had thought earlier, but she knew that was a foolish hope.

[sorry about the wait, too. work has been hell]
Sirath nodded his head at his mother's words, taking them in carefully. So, the Konoha villagers were deep in rebuilding their precious village. He smirked slightly for a few seconds before it disappeared with a blank expression on his face. He didn;t want to show his mother that he could care less about the status of the village. He was just curious if the rumors he had heard were true. "If father did do the damage, then where is he now?" He raised an eyebrow and gazed at Jovi, a hint of curiosity on his face.
