CONCEPT FORUM GUIDELINES

01. Original concepts and characters are loved!

02. Please keep in mind that having a concept does not give you the right to be the only Knight > Mage Knight > War Magus in the concept folder or even in the shop! We allow more than one of each class, as long as what's been presented is unique and interesting. At the same time, take a look at what's been done before you make your concept, you'll have a harder time being accepted if you're the fourth or fifth Entertainer > Dancer > Gypsy hanging around.

03. Be detailed when describing your job class. This goes beyond your character's physical appearance; try describing their fighting style, their weaponry and how their special skills look in narrative! Remember to pay attention to skill restrictions - some skills require that you have a certain number of points in a stat before you can use them.

04. Please limit yourself to one thread per character. It'll be easier for everyone to keep track of if you keep all your information in a single thread.

05. While multiple concepts are fine, we recommend focusing your energy on making one concept the best it possibly can be - you've got stiff competition after all!

06. It's a great idea to check out the Journals sub-folder and read the accepted concepts. Be sure you've filled out everything in the "concept form"!

07. If you're looking for critique, please indicate so in your thread so other community members will know it's okay to post.

08. Critics, please be respectful. Do not comment on a concept if the writer has asked people not to; similarly, when commenting, please don't be rude.

09. A good critique is "Your character, Human X, could probably do with a bit more beefing up in the part where you describe her job class." A bad critique is saying "I don't really like your choice of history for your character, Human X, because it wasn't really interesting. ^^;"

10. Any concept-specific questions you wish to ask privately or concerns you may have about a review should be sent ONLY to the mule: Regent Tolbire, while game-specific PMs should be directed to Tales of Aludra; please do not PM individual mods about your application. All Tales of Aludra-relevant PMs are shared with all mods, please keep this in mind.
