Ok, so I've heard a lot of people say that they think Zuko is somehow connected to a Fire spirit, like Yue was connected to the Moon spirit, and I think it's true.
On Avatar Spirit.net someone said that Zuko's eyes are the only gold ones in the show, or at least the brightest gold eyes, and thinks it has something to do with a fire spirit. Avatarspirit.net translated the text found in Avatar, and the date of The Darkest Day in Fire Nation history is: "The 9th day of the 7th Month (9th July in modern times) in the Dragon Year was the Fire Nation's darkest day" -- 9/July/Dragon, and the date of the next eclipse: "Citizens of the Avatar World would experience the solar eclipse on the 1st day of the 8th Month, Year of the Monkey. Weather condition of that day, fierce wind." -- 8/August/Monkey. And we can guess which year of the Zodiac the characters are. Assuming that Zuko is still 16 in the Monkey Year, he would be born in the Year of the Dragon. Zuko could have been born on a Dragon year. The Darkest Day was also on a Dragon year. Maybe Zuko was born on the same year as the Darkest Day, or maybe even on the same day. Ozai says Zuko was lucky to be born. What if he was born during a solar eclipse, and this resulted in a difficult birth? On the same token, Azula being born lucky could mean she was born on the Summer solstice, when the sun is highest in the sky.

That's assuming that he's 16, when he's 17. He said in the season 2 premier that he had been gone for 3 years, and he was banished at 14. (It was the anniversery of his banishment)
Other than that, it makes perfect sence. If it's true, that might explain why he had trouble with bending.

(It was the anniversery of his banishment) Other than that, it makes perfect sence. If it's true, that might explain why he had trouble with bending.

Which would mean his birthday occured before his banishment. That being the case, he would have turned 17 before the three year anniversery of his banishment. You have to remember that at this point, he has been banished three years. He was banished at 14 years old. How many times do I have to explain this? Do I have to post that 14+3=17, no matter what. Unless, like I said, he was really 13, and Iroh just rounded up, but I doubt that. I mean, if this was the case, they would have had him be banished at 13, since your theory also involves his eye color being a hint. Oh and thanks, though I never ment for her to look like Azula.

That would be interesting...he did have the dragon spirit vision (even though the sounded like Azula and Iroh). We shall have to wait and see.

Which hasn't happened yet, so that would mean his birthday is coming up. Considering he turned 16 last year, it would mean that he is turning 17 sometime this year.
EDIT: Acually I just remembered something. In "The Lost Scrolls" It says each nation has a dominant season in which most of the births happen. As in, Air Nomads are born in Fall. Same with Water Tribe = Winter, Earth Kingdom = Spring and Fire Nation = Summer. So Zuko can't be 17, because In Season 1, Iroh says "Sailing into Fire Nation waters. Of all the foolish things you have done in your 16 years, Prince Zuko, this is the most foolish." And that was sometime in winter. And right now It's still Spring in Avatar, so that means that Zuko won't turn 17 til' About half way through Season 3.

my god i am so confused!!!good arguments, though!!! i like th theory. im into stuff like that, so yeah. the whole age thing is really confusing. you can't go by our time, you half to go by theirs, which is so much more confusing!!! good luck. im tired. 'nite all heart
