I guess I'll get this started.

I've seen live:

Fort Minor.
Carpathian.
36 Crazyfists.
Atreyu.
Red Distress.
The Disables.
The Unseen.
Bad Day Down.
NOFX.

More to be added one day. 8D

I think the best performances were Fort Minor, The Disables and 36 Crazyfists.

Atreyu pissed me off somewhat because they didn't play enough songs, the crowd didn't even know the words and they didn't seem that into it compared to 36 Crazyfists. Those guys got right into it and talked to the crowd, even brought some dude up on stage. The energy of their show was electrifying. I had the s**t beaten out of me because I was third from the front. Not close enough to grab onto the bar. sweatdrop

Fort Minor was my first concert and I don't think I'd been more rabid in my life. ninja I got in trouble with security three times. Ironic because this was the tamest concert I've been to in terms of people getting beaten up.

NOFX was good but it was a let down because they had by far the worst crowd. They kept pelting things and spitting at the band. One guy who was standing near me I think only paid to go so he could stand there and yell "CUNTS" at them all night. Yet again, the band that played before the one headlining was better. The Disables got nothing but love. Not to mention at NOFX this emo kid near me threw a waterbottle at fat Mike and the crowd surged in to beat the s**t out of him. Not very fun when you're in the way. gonk

The Unseen was my first and only small gig. It was awesome because we were right in front of the band. The lead singer was probably half a meter away from us. I didn't know the words to their songs at the time but their music was so catchy that you'd learn them in an instant. Mark Unseen talked to my friend. It was hilarious because we were just standing there and she was like "... Is that him? I'll go say hello." 15 minutes later he was the guy who stepped up on stage. xd

Anyway, more talking will come later. I just thought I'd talk about the bands I've seen. 3nodding

I've only made it to one concert, which was a show for collective artists, the highlight of which as the Living End. I went absolutely nuts - there were two signs on either side of the stage saying 'NO CROWD SURFING' and what did I do? Crowdsurfed - four times.

It got rougher by the end of the night and the last time I went around, the security guards practically threw me down the aisle seperating the crowd and the stage. Even my bra got undone that time around. It was awesome fun. whee

I'm supposed to be seeing a Missy Higgins concert soon for a school project (it was a class decision), which I'm looking forward to about as much as jumping off a cliff. I did suggest going to a Slayer concert, because it was at roughly the same time, but the two girls in the class are very concervative and the first thing out of their mouths was "NO!!!". Nobody backed me up because they all hate heavy metal. gonk

Decent music tastes are somewhat lacking at my school.

gonk Aww. Missy Higgins? Man you might as well fall asleep.

I have a friend who saw Missy Higgins the other week. She hit me when I made fun of her dancing on stage. sweatdrop But it was funny!

Come to think of it there has been a lack of good bands coming to Australia this year. It's very disappointing because last year there were TOO many. Arch Enemy, Killswitch Engage, Story Of The Year, Ill Nino... I was too broke to see any of these.

Linkin Park are probably coming though. Might check em out for old time's sake.

Actually wait lots of bands visited Australia at the Soundwave Festival.

Funnily enough the Deftones were there and they're soon touring with Dir En Grey. That'll take place in June.

If Diru are big enough out of Japan to be touring with the Deftones then I daresay we might be lucky enough to get them here one day.

There's a good website checking up on heavy metal tour dates for Australia. We've got Dragonforce coming some time around in June, if I remember correctly. Other bands like Slayer, Five Star Cell, Child Of Bodom even, I think.

It's more underground; you usually don't see any advertising anywhere. sweatdrop

I'm hoping to see a good band touring in Australia in August, so I can con my parents into giving me a ticket as a birthday present. whee
