Hey guys, let's keep it nice and friendly in here, okay?
Which do you prefer? The Manga or the Anime? What are your reasons why, and what are the pros and cons of each?

♥♥♥ | One word: maaanga. It, obviously being the very core and root of Inuyasha itself, should be represented as the most reliable source as far as characterization and phenomenons go, in my opinion! Rumiko Takahashi, who I can actually see being the creator of the plot, seems to know the rights and wrongs when it comes to the storyline.
Whereas, on the other hand, the anime is okay, but only to an extent. Just from the producers' little add ons and such, I can't really see them [the anime people] as the actual makers of Inuyasha. rolleyes There are differentiations that make me believe they are more fan-biased than "professional."
Such as the opposed OOCness that they onslaught us with in their movies. In the first movie, Rin acted like a total ditz towards Jaken for no apparent reason other than "humor." Her actions screamed definite brat, all of which I swear I have never ever seen her act even similar to in the manga!
And Kikyou in the same movie...what was that about? Sure, her actions were somewhat justified, but given the inexact time-period during the series the movie was set in, I can pretty much say it was crude and unnecessary and exaggerated. Kikyou just doesn't lose her cool like that. It's not Kikyou. talk2hand
Second movie: okay, so admittedly, there wasn't quite as much wrong with this movie as there was in the other ones, buuut...there was one point that I'm positive Kagome went out of her way to scream Inuyasha's name ten billion times too many, which was pretty stupid, because we all know that, in the manga, Kagome would freakin' realize that the guy couldn't hear her! sweatdrop
The third movie was pretty bad plot-wise, honestly--the whole Sounga thing reminded me of the horribly clichéd plot where the inu-brothers have unwarranted...siblings--but, though I'm sure we were all happy to see our precious Sesshoumaru ( rolleyes ), a lot of fans noticed just how bad the anime people made him look. evil
Sesshoumaru's expressions bugged me, considering they changed to "shock" way too much to be consider in-character for the daiyoukai. Then he shouted out attack names! Sesshoumaru doesn't "shout"--let alone attack names! Not to mention that Tenseiga was the sword he was using...okay, Tenseiga does not kill. It sucks people into hell, yes, but ultimately it's the environment of hell that kills the person, not Tenseiga itself. It's Toukijin that has Souryuuha, people, Toukijin! Get it straight before you try to create a movie! scream
Kagome: she was OOC in this movie, because, well, she placed the kotodama beads back on Inuyasha at the very end. emo She barely had a reason, too, which makes it just that much worse. The producers of the anime shouldn't have made the beads break off in the first place! stressed They can be so idiotic... stare
I don't remember much about the fourth movie, given I've only seen it twice, but I do know that Kikyou was OOC in this movie regarding a certain clone that Inuyasha got into a quarrel with. In my opinion, she acted more like Sesshoumaru or Naraku in this scene rather than herself. burning_eyes
There's also this to consider: it's quite obvious that whoever wrote the script for the anime absolutely despises Kouga. gonk He gets no airtime in the movies--none--and they purposefully created Ayame as a way to make him look like a b*****d, forgetting his "finacée" and trying to move on with another woman [Kagome]. He is a part of the plot and he is sincerely a sweet guy, and I dislike that they seem to not want to accept that. mad
The anime, also, for some unknown reason, left out a scene that was in the manga where Inuyasha told Kagome, "I like your smiling face. Somehow with you it seems I'm relieved"--which is the closest thing we have ever had to an "I love you, Kagome" anywhere in the entire Inuyasha series, regardless of current manga chapters.
So I have came to one conclusion... Manga pwns all.
There, a nice bone for you guys to chew on. blaugh | ♥♥♥

Lamo! Awesomeness!
Well, you pretty much said it all, although I will throw in there that I can't stand the anime character designs! Kagome just looks so... mannish, and the kissing scene that happened between them in the anime? laaa~me. I just honestly don't like the animation, and think that with today's technology (and the popularity the series had even BEFORE the anime), they could have poured more money into it and done a much better job.
I will say, however, that the Japanese voice actors do the characters justice. ...I'm not too sure about the movies, but in the series, it's pretty damn good.
....Don't even get me started on the english dub. stressed

Actually, may I add one more thing about the Anime?
About half way through it, you can see that the animators behind it actually started to put some effort into the characters themselves. In the beggining the Anime was pretty much crap, but at the end of the series, it wasn't that bad at all.
Sorry, but this really bothers me. It's like they finally started to pay attention to what they were doing after the show got popular. stressed
(Holy, this is turning into a "Why we hate the anime version" thread... xd )

Okay, I'll stick up for the the anime a BIT. sweatdrop
I'll say one thing for the anime, they do Miroku a crapload of justice. Where W'nnabe stated that they must have hated Kouga, the opposite is easily said for Miroku. They absolutely must have loved him! He just... oozes manliness and hotness, and... even his english voice is attractrive! O.O; If I'd stumbled across the anime first, I would have surely been a Miroku fan. xd

He's on a bunch of other ones too, but I can't think of them at the moment.

Allow for my shallow opinion.
I watch the anime because I don't have a lot of money. It's free for me to watch the anime. I'd have to buy the manga, and at their high prices (around $10 a book), I just can't afford it. Especially after buying my overpriced school books. sad
I've quite enjoyed the anime so far though. My only complaint is that Kagome tends to yell too much.

When I first started watching anime they hadn't started selling them on DVD's yet, you could only get either the dubbed VHS or the Subbed VHS of anime. The subbed was always up in the $30 range, while the dubbed was always around $19.95 or something... So I was always buying the dubbed anime... Now they have the DVDs out where you can have them both for 30 bucks. Aw man. lol. As for the manga, well... It's a heck of a lot cheaper than what it used to be. When I started reading Inuyasha it was in large format and was selling for like, $15 a pop. O.O; ...yeah...
