x.Puppet's Info.x Username: Emily_Kinny :: Trace Name: Trace Nicknames: Tracey Age: 4 Siblings: Kiara, Arkom, Daigura Element: Light Essence: Sunlight Likes: Sunny days, sewing, knitting, designing, meeting new people Dislikes: Rain, cloudy days, deadlines, slow people (though he can tolerate it pretty good) Personality: Trace is just as his essence is- sunny. He very rarely gets depressed, and when he does he very quickly becomes happy again. He's friendly and kind, and always willing to help people or give them a second chance. Obtained: Custom Extra: He was practicing Kamikaze and Kiara was standing by, watching. It was his first or second time doing it, and because he couldn't control it well, it got out of control and far too bright. It permanently damaged her eyes, and left her with no eye sight. She forgave her brother long ago, but he hasn't forgiven himself. Since then he has been afraid of using his powers with Kia around. Fun fact: Trace loves designing and making clothes, and he is the one who makes all of Kiara's clothes. ____________________________Fun fact (2): Name origin! ____________________________TRACE ____________________________Gender: Male ____________________________Origin: Irish ____________________________Meaning: Battler

x.Trace's Pages.x Yeesh, we just got here and 'They' are already here. Me and Kia had to get out of the shop and meet Them. I could tell Kiara was irritated at Their arrival. I was a bit annoyed as well. They came without saying anything! What if someone else saw Them? I'm so sick of Them being everywhere we are, watching. It's a bit unnerving as well. After our 'talk' with Them, Kiara was more upset than before. Being blind, she hears and detects emotions more than any ever could. I'm not sure how she does it, but she does, and after They left she told me that They seemed to be planning something. They were getting tenser, and more excited. Well, that put behind me, Emily gave me this. She said Arkom and Daigura have one as well, and she'll get Kiara one too. I doubt Kia will write very much in it. She is blind, but she can write, she just doesn't like to. Well, that's all I have. x.Trace.x

x.Trace's Pages .x. Personal Roleplay.x Trace walked along the dark alleys, trying not to stand out so much. He had a black coat on, with dark blue jeans, hoping that if he was seen he would at least look like a street crawler. "You're lucky, Kia, no matter the time of day there is always some sort of darkness." He hissed under his breath. Something shimmered besides him. "I know what you are hinting at, and don't go there, Brother." She hissed just the slightest bit. Trace had learned when he was pretty young that he could not only bend the light waves in the air and make himself invisible, but he could make any other thing, person or item, invisible as well. Try as she might, Kiara couldn't. It was one of the few things Trace excelled in than her. The puppet's heart skipped a beat as she took a glance around, her fingers clutched tightly against the strap of the bag she had slung over her shoulder. Kaiyumi had asked her to go pick something up for her - just a small item, since Althaia was far smaller than Kaiyumi - and so, she went to fetch it. After receiving it however, the girl decided to take a shortcut - or at least, what she had assumed to be a shortcut. To her great distress however, after about 5 minutes, she realized her surroundings were unfamiliar and foreign. This alone was enough to scare her, nevermind the fact there were so many, suspicious looking strangers about.
Althaia let out a small squeak in alarm as she was roughly brushed aside by a passing stranger, and stumbled into a nearby alley. Pressing her hand against the wall, she managed to steady herself just as she was about to fall to the ground. What was she to do, then? Ask someone for directions? It was unlikely she'd be able to work up the courage. "They should be around here..." Kiara trailed off, and stopped walking, but Trace not noticing continued on. "Wait!" The girl hissed, and the puppet froze, sensing the alarm in her voice. He was about to question what was wrong, when he caught sight of it himself. Instead of feeling the sense of dread that was overcoming Kia, he felt his heart flutter in fear not for them, but for the other person. "Althaia!" Trace gasped under his breath softly, then started forward quickly. "Brother!" Kiara hissed, but either he ignored her or didn't hear, she wasn't sure. All she knew was that she could hear his foot steps getting farther away. Quickly, she followed, staying silent and hoping Trace wouldn't tell the girl she was here. Trace strode up and grabbed Althaia's arm to stop her from walking, not thinking about his actions. "What are you doing here, it's dangerous!" He said, leaning forward and speaking urgently into her ear. A small shiver ran down Althaia's body as took another slow glance around, the alarm now quite evident. There was certainly something eerie about this place, to say the least. Perhaps it would be best then, if she were to ask someone for directions. Surely someone would be willing to help her with directions.
She had just been about to step out of the alley, she felt someone's hand clutch at her arm. Her heart leap with alarm, and her mouth opened to let out a small yelp. Althaia, however, was cut off mid-yelp when the familar voice reached her ears. For a moment, she was completely silent, before she felt a pang of relief.
"Trace?" The girl asked softly, trying to turn around to face her friend. Trace glanced around, wondering if Kiara was somewhere near listening. Well, of course she was, he thought with a slight sigh. He turned back to Althaia and studied her, his eyes glancing up and down her anxiously. "You aren't hurt, are you? Why are you here? Don't you know it's dangerous here, especially at night!" Sure enough, just as he spoke, he noticed something out of the corner of his eye. Quickly he pulled Althaia against him, hugging her to his chest, as he narrowed his eyes at the advancing man over Althaia's head. It was another puppet, his black hair messy and his skin a sickly green. Trace could see the anticipation in his eyes as he scrutinized the back of Althaia. "She's with me." He hissed, venom dripping from every word. The man narrowed his eyes and glared at Trace for a moment, the puppet glaring back steadily, until he turned and silently walked away. She felt cool relief trickle through her body at the sight of her friend. Offering him a small smile, Althaia gave a small shake of her head. "No, I'm alright. I came out to pick up something for Kaiyumi." Then, she hesitated, before giving a small nod and glancing over her shoulder. "Well, I know now. This place is eerie at night." She admitted. Before she could say anything else, however, she felt herself being pulled towards Trace. The next thing she knew, she was pressed against her friend's chest, and Trace spoke, his tone far different than before. Althaia gripped at Trace's shirt a little tensely, before glancing up at him after a moment. Her eyes showed traces of a sort of fear and confusion.
"Trace?" What exactly was going on here? When Althaia spoke, Trace tightened his grip on her slightly, but continued staring at the man with narrowed eyes until he disappeared around a corner. Finally he relaxed, quickly letting go of Althaia and stepping back, looking away. But only for a second, then he looked back up at Althaia. His eyes were normal and friendly now, and he let a smile spread across his face. "Sorry." He whispered. He fell silent for several seconds, thinking carefully before opening his mouth again. "We have to get you home." He said slowly, as if not sure of the idea himself. Just as he expected, Kiara materialized besides him. Her lips were set carefully straight, her face emotionless, but Trace could hear the strain in her voice as if she was just able to keep the anger from coming out. "I believe she can find her own way home, They are waiting for us, Brother, and you know They don't like to wait." Her voice was low, in a warning tone. Trace knew his sister wasn't happy with him, but he didn't care. "No." He scowled, but kept his voice a normal tone. "You know as well as I do that it's dangerous here- too dangerous- for her." He glanced at Althaia as if to make sure she was still there, then turned a rather icy gaze back to Kiara. "They can wait." The girl almost stumbled as Trace let go and stepped back, but managed to stop herself from falling and making an idiot of herself. Looking up at Trace quizzically, she opened her mouth to ask as to what was going on, but shut it again when he spoke. She shifted uncomfortably. Should she admit that she was lost right now, so she didn't quite know the way home?
Althaia lept out of her skin again when Kiara materialized. Placing a hand over her heart, she willed it to slow down and relax, before glancing back up at the siblings. Awkwardly, she gathered the side of her dress and spread it out slightly, giving a small half bow, half curtsy towards Kiara. Despite the fact it was an odd time and place to do so, she figured she should still keep her manners.
A troubled frown found its way to Althaia's face as the two siblings spoke to one another, in a kind of small arguement of sorts, it seemed. Shuffling for a moment, she glanced from Trace to Kiara, before turning her gaze to the ground. "Uhm," She started, hesitantly, "I don't want to be of any trouble to the two of you. My home isn't very far from here," A lie, but hopefully they wouldn't see that she was lost, "And only a few minutes walk. I'll be fine, I'm sure...?"Trace seemed about to say something after Althaia spoke but Kiara beat him to it. "See? She is fine, now we have to go." The girl said impatiently, crossing her arms. She herself had 'dressed up', well, actually, Trace had picked it out for her like always. She was wearing a navy blue tang top, spaghetti strings, and a black skirt that was just below her knees. She was wearing black high heels, and her hair was pulled back in a messy, yet somehow still neat and proper, pony tail. Trace glanced at Althaia and then looked up at the corner where the man disappeared, his gaze lingering there for several minutes before snapping back to Kia. "Listen." It was obviously a command, though his voice was kind and light. Kia frowned, but quickly fell silent and seemed to listen to something for several minutes until her brother spoke again. "There is no way I'm leaving her to walk these streets alone. No way at all." He crossed his arms to match his sister's pose and stared stubbornly at her. "You're right." She finally sighed after a minute. "But we cannot leave Them. I will go- you take her home." And she disappeared again. Trace wasn't happy with that, leaving Kia to face Them by herself, but she would fair better without him then Althaia would. He turned to her, his face instantly falling. He offered an apologetic smile, but it didn't reach his eyes, which were staring at Althaia sadly. The girl clutched at her own arm tensely as she glanced between the two siblings. Occasionally, she'd open her mouth to speak, attempting to interrupt, but either nothing came out, or her voice was inaudible to everyone but herself. Althaia never did well when it came to speaking up, but she so very wanted to at that moment. Afterall, she was obviously in the way of something - the best thing she could do for Kiara and Trace, was to get out of their way then.
Before she could finally work up enough courage to do anything however, both Trace and Kiara had already decided upon what they would do. It seemed Kiara would go and meet whomever this 'Them' Althaia kept catching in the conversation, and Trace would take her home. Her gaze flickered from Kiara's face, to Trace's once Kiara had disappeared. She noted the weak smile on his face, but his eyes stood out much more.
Trying to look bright and optimistic, the girl walked up to her friend, reaching up to take him by the shoulders and turning him around. "You should go with your sister." She spoke, before giving a small nod of her head. "I can get home alone. It's really not that far from here - a few minutes should do it." She tried to assure him. "Besides, you shouldn't have to feel responsible for me, right? I'll get home safely, and you'll be with your sister."Trace allowed himself to be turned, listening to her words, but as soon as she was quiet he turned around again and shook his head sternly. "Frail, pretty girls like you should not be here alone...or at all, really. And if something happened to you, I think I'd die from the guilt." He stared down at her then, before she could say anything, wrapped his arm tightly around her and started heading down the alley, his stride fast. He half pushed Althaia along, half held her up so she wouldn't trip. And when they turned the corner to find three men facing them, he went stiff and stopped walking, despite knowing they had been there the whole time. His grip tightened even more, pulling Althaia as close to him as he could. "Excuse us, we're just passing through." He said, his voice taunt. "And what's the fun of that?" One of them sneered. Althaia blinked, before her lips tugged downwards in a small frown. "But - " She started to protest, but it was cut off when he grabbed her, and started down the alley. "Wha - Trace!" She exclaimed, red faced. This was oddly embarrassing for her, to say the least.
As they emerged from the alley, the girl's own gaze flickered instantly to the three men, and her body tensed just as Trace's had. She subconsciously held onto Trace's shirt, much like a young child would with a mother or father. "Who...?" Her voice was almost inaudible, her alarm making her voice even quieter than usual. Like a normal defense mechanism, small plants seemed to sprout at the girl's feet, appearing nothing more than a few blades of grass at the moment. It was the one from before, the one with messy black hair and a green tint to his skin, who spoke next, staring straight at Althaia greedily. "Scared, darling?" He asked, a vicious grin spreading across his face as he stared. The other two kept their eyes on Trace, which was just as well because a jolt of anger ran through him. Stay calm. He told him, his lips hardening in a straight line as he glared at the black haired one. Three against two...one, really. He wasn't sure how well Althaia could fight, but either way he wasn't going to let her. There was only one option out of this. He didn't like it, it would draw attention to them in the night- far too much attention- but it would have to do. "Close your eyes, Althaia." He whispered to her, keeping his eyes on the three men. Then he placed both hands over her eyes, just in case. The other puppets' faces creased in confusion, and Trace also closed his eyes. Less than a second later a blinding flash of light seemed to take up his vision, even having his eyes closed. Stiffening a bit as she was spoken to, Althaia glanced towards the man who spoke to her, swallowing slowly. "Of course not." She answered, trying to sound confident despite the fact her voice quivered a bit.
What was there to do in a situation like this? Surely the only choice wasn't to fight? She certainly wasn't much of a fighter - she'd probably trip over her own feet if she tried - and other than running, that was the only available choice. Of course, if they attempted to flee, they would need a distraction of sorts.
Trace seemed to have figured it out faster then her, when she suddenly heard him speak to her. Obediently, she shut her eyes feeling Trace's hands move over them a moment later. Nervously, she waited for what would come next.
Of course, she never did exactly see what happened next, but she could faintly sense that something had occurred. Slowly, she rose a hand to gently take Trace's wrist, as if to ask if it was alright if she opened her eyes now.As soon as Trace felt Althaia's hand on his wrist his eyes flew open. The three men were stumbling back, covering their eyes, and one of them let a slight chortled sound erupt from his throat. Without a word Trace scooped Althaia up, and a second later they were farther down the street, at another corner. He glanced back at the men, then started forward again, this time not daring to go that fast. He was already dizzy enough from the surge of energy, and bright spots danced before his eyes. Instead he let himself at a normal run- far too slow of a pace. He had the other puppet cradled in his arms, gentle, but at the same time keeping his grip firm and tight, as if afraid he would drop her but also concerned about breaking her. After several more corners and turns, he stopped and set Althaia gently onto her feet. "Stay." He commanded, though sounded completely unauthorized. Then he pressed his back against the brick wall of a building and slid down until he was sitting on the ground. He put his head in his hands and closed his eyes, willing the dizziness and nauseous feeling to go away. He didn't mind the white blotches that appeared before his eyes, not entirely. He actually felt bad for the three puppets who had faced that, eyes wide with curiosity. As her friend's hands were removed, the girl opened her eyes cautiously, her gaze instantly focusing on the three men who had, just moments ago, seemed extremely hostile, but who now were all covering their eyes. The sound that one of them emitted sent a small shiver down Althaia's spine. The next thing she knew, the three men were out of her sight, and she was being carried along. Curious as to what just happened, she glanced up from the corner of her eye at Trace, as if his face would give it away.
Before she could really determine anything, she was let to the ground. For a moment, the puppet observed their new surroundings, giving a small nod when Trace gave her a command. The second she looked back at him, however, a deep frown etched itself on her face. "Wha - Trace? Are you alright?" Concerned, she moved towards him, crouching down and resting her hand on his shoulder. Turning her head to the side, she tried to catch a glimpse of his face.Trace didn't answer- he didn't trust himself to. He hoped Althaia wouldn't mind his silence; hoped she wouldn't find it rude. Instead he sat, perfectly still, focusing on breathing slowly, deeply. Finally some of the dizziness ebbed away, and he lifted his head, turning to look Althaia square in the eye. "I'm sorry." He said, grief embedded deeply in his eyes. "Are you okay? Can you see everything well?" He wondered if he should explain to her, but stopped. Kia would be mad at him enough all ready- They would be made at him. No need to bring the past up, Trace was sure Althaia wouldn't be suspicious of his concern. None the less he turned and looked the other way, as if ashamed. Which, in reality, he was quite ashamed. But Althaia was safe, he reminded himself. That counted for something. She waited patiently for his answer, though the silence caused worry to grow through her. Was he really alright? Althaia was about to ask again, when his apology interrupted her. She was confused, and taken aback by the grief. Shifting, so that she was kneeling down instead of crouching, the puppet folded her hands in her lap, silent for a moment, before asking, "For what? What do you have to apologize to me for?" A small smile of sorts flickered on her face. "Who knows what would have happened to me if you weren't there." Then, she gave a small blink, and nod of her head. "And I'm fine." She assured him, with a wave of her hand.
"I should be the one apologizing to you." She added, after another moment. "After all, if I hadn't been there, you would still be Kiara right now, and you probably wouldn't have met those three men." Then, she grinned sheepishly, offering a weak laugh. "Or if you had, you would have faired better with your sister than with me. I'm not really the offensive type."Trace didn't even want to think of what would have happened to her. But he was relieved that she was fine, or so she stated. He would have to go with that answer. But he made a mental note to watch her carefully, in case she showed any signs of damaged eyes. He sighed slightly, giving the slightest shake of his head. He still said nothing, but felt the sting in his chest none the less. He scrunched his shoulders up, still looking away, pushing the feels down. After several painful moments he let his shoulders drop down and relax. "No." He said softly, shaking his head again, more prominent this time. "I would not have been able to do anything, and Kia would have to fend for herself." He wasn't used to this topic, he swallowed uneasily. Never had he said anything about it, not even with Kiara. Especially not with Kiara. He stood up quickly, but carefully, and was glad when he didn't get dizzy. "We should go." He said, a bit too harshly then he intended. Immediately, he regretted it, and held out a hand to help Althaia up. "It's very late; you should be home." Still sitting with her hands in her lap, she waited until Trace seemed to relax, before her own body relaxed, and a small sigh escaped her lips. Tilting her head back, she looked at the night sky, before looking back to Trace as he spoke. Her mind lingered on what he said for a moment, before she pushed it out of her mind. It really wasn't any of her business now, was it?
Althaia had jumped at the bit of harshness in his words, but calmed down a second after. Taking the offered hand, and standing up, she covered her mouth and suppressed a yawn just as Trace mentioned that it was getting late. "Alright..." She agreed, with a nod of her head, using the back of one of her hands to rub at her eye gently. "I should probably say thank you to you first though, and apologize for being so much trouble." She gave him a sort of sleepy, sheepish smile. Trace offered her a gentle smile, and it reached his eyes and made them sparkle slightly as she yawned. "No need for either." He said dismissively, waving his hand slightly. He then turned and started walking down a street, which was lit up by several street lights, and people were scurrying around, trying to get home at this late hour. Instead of finding it comforting, it bothered him slightly. Reminded him of leaving Kiara alone. "Follow me." He said warily to Althaia over his shoulder, consciously putting his hands in his pockets as he withheld a blush. She was probably annoyed by how much he had been touching her. At the smile she blinked a few times, before offering a bright smile of her own. Now that they were in more of a well lit area, she was obviously far more calm than before.
"Even so, I owe you a lot for tonight." She pointed out. "I'll make up for it somehow, someday." Althaia promised, before stretching and trying to look slightly more alert. Inspecting the area, the puppet realized they were in a more familiar place, and that from here, she could easily find her way home. Glad that she was no longer really lost, the girl sighed with relief.
Hearing Trace call for her, she looked up, and then hurried along. "Coming." On her way, she stumbled, windmilling her arms in an attempt to keep balance. Finally, with relief, she settled down again. Red faced, and glad it was night, she started towards the other puppet again. She should probably learn to walk without tripping, eventually. Trace fortunately didn't notice her trip. He stayed perfectly silent, his worried eyes staring at the ground, occasionally looking around at Althaia to make sure she was still there and following him. But mostly he stared at his feet, stared at the passing ground. People mostly moved out of his way when they realized he wasn't going to alter his course around them. Finally the tall, brick city buildings turned into small, pleasant houses. Still, he kept his eyes down. He slowed to a stop in front of Althaia's house and looked up, though not meeting her eyes. He didn't want to explain how he knew where she lived. He hoped she wouldn't ask. "Uh...about tonight..." He said softly, pausing to bite his lower lip slightly. He straightened up and finally looked at Althaia directly again, his gaze meeting hers. "I would help you a hundred times over and wouldn't mind." He confessed. "But just...try not to go out at night any more? Not without another person with you." Silently, Althaia followed, content with looking up at the night sky and attempting to count all the stars. Of course, just to be safe, she looked ahead of her occasionally, just to make sure that Trace was still there, and that she wasn't about to walk smack into anyone or thing. Quietly, she hummed a tune, in an attempt to distract herself from a few looming shadows here and there.
The moment they stopped in front of her home, Althaia felt complete relief flow through her, and suddenly realizing that she was extremely tired, the girl stifled another yawn. Hearing Trace's voice, the puppet turned to face him, listening. She looked thoughtful after he had finished speaking, before offering him a large smile. "I appreciate it, Trace, I really do." Shifting awkwardly, she reached forward to give her friend a small hug, before pulling away a few seconds later. She wasn't exactly good at expressing her thanks, without feeling embarrassed in any way.
Clasping her hands together, the girl grinned. "Sorry again for all the trouble I caused. You're a good friend, to say the least." Then, "Will you be alright alone right now, then?" She assumed he'd go off to find his sister again, but it really was late. "I could ask Kaiyumi if she would accompany you until you arrive to where ever you're going safely?" She offered. Althaia had been about to offer to help herself, until she realized that Trace probably wouldn't allow that, and that she was already home. Trace blinked at Althaia slowly before letting out a quiet laugh, but one that seemed a bit reserved. "I think I will be fine. I'll just head...to the house, since Kiara will probably be there." He had almost said 'home'. Not quite, but almost. He liked it here, but this would never be his home. He wasn't even sure how much longer he was going to stay here. Of course he really wasn't going back to the house anyway. He'd probably wander off into a park and sit in a tree, watching the sun rise. He offered Althaia a lopsided smile. "Can you make it to the door safely?" He teased. "Mmf..." She looked hesitant, before giving a small nod. "Alright then. Be careful then, will you?" Althaia stood on her tiptoes to pat his head, as if he were a child.
Then, a pout of sorts spread itself over the puppet's face at Trace's tease. "I'm not that accident prone, Trace." She pointed out. Walking towards the steps to the house, she marched up a few of the steps. However, as if she jinx herself, Althaia found herself stumbling, and falling forward. Yelping, she fell on the stairs, scraping her arm on the cement. Hastily, standing up, the puppet brushed at her arm, and brushed off her hands.
Back turned from Trace, she cleared her throat, willing the blush to disappear. "You didn't see that..." She muttered, coughing. At first Trace lurched forward as she fell, but, somehow, was too late to catch her. When she spoke though he let out a loud laugh. "Sorry, but I did." He chuckled, stepping forward as if to help her, then hastily stepping back again as if he did something wrong. He felt a slight shift in the air, and his head snapped to the east, where the sun was just coming up. It was so much later than he thought. "Oh, I'm sorry!" He cried. "I didn't mean to..." He looked back at Althaia. "Clean that up," he pointed to her newly acquired cut, "And get some sleep." He turned and was about to dash away, then hesitated and glanced back at her. He stared at her for what seemed like a very short second, but also an extremely long one at the same time. Then he turned- and was gone.

x.Trace's Pages.x Nothing much to put here. I lost a fight with Arkom (again). How is he so good, and without Their help? They were pretty mad at me for not being able to defeat him. I bet Kiara could, if she ever fought him. But she's keeping a strict policy to not fight family, not unless it's practicing. Oh well, I'll do better next time if I keep training. x.Trace.x

x.Trace's Pages.x They have seemed to realize me and Kia can handle things ourself, and now we don't see Them as often. For a while They were following me around, afraid of the thing going on between me and Althaia. It hurts so much, but I have to keep my distance from her, or else They will come back, and possibly do worse things. Oh, how could They have seemed like such a good idea, and now I wish I had never agreed to join Them! x.Trace.x
