Well, one of my friends has had a recurring dream lately. I don't know whether she is just ******** up in the head and should I help her, or if she's possessed by a spirit and I should stay as far away as possible from her.

According to her, there's a girl sitting in a chair in a completely black room, with a white knee-length dress, black hair down to her chest, and huge white eyes. She sings the following song:

"Miss Mary Mag, Mag Mag all dressed in black black black, she had silver knives knives knives, stuck in her back back back, and she begged begged begged, and she cried cried cried, because she begged begged begged, she begged to die die die."

When she finishes her song, she's cut in half.

Then it enters into a dream where she is running away from someone, but the city she is running in is all gray. There are shapes, but no color besides gray.

Now then, when I search Mary Mag the only thing I come up with is Mary Magdalene. While I think that this could be a serious psychological problem which needs to be dealt with, I can't help but have my superstitious side thrown in which tells me to call a priest and let him deal with it.

Advice?

Dreams, especially recurring dreams, can be the subconscious trying to communicate to the conscious mind either a problem or a solution to a problem. However, there is no constant symbol in dreams and the interpretations of such dreams really should be done by the individual. There's probably something causing some stress in her life, but I highly doubt it's a psychological problem.

It could also just be she gave the dream a lot of thought the first time. Sometimes I give a couple of dreams I had as a kid an unusual amount of thought and will have them all over again the next night.

If she starts seeing the same thing while she's awake you might consider the psychological thing. I say it's just a creepy dream trying to tell her something.

well, probably the colors could represent something...>.> cutting could represent the severing from something. running is the leaving.

and the song. o.O have you ever heard of miss mary mak?

miss mary mack mack mack all dressed in black black black with silver She asked her mother, mother, mother
For 50 cents, cents, cents
To see the elephants, elephants, elephants
Jump over the fence, fence, fence.

maybe something related to that, or childhood esque thingys. that are demented o.O you should see if there is anything evil about the actual meaning of the song

but other than that-answer to a question we don't know how to ask

Have you even tried to dream interpretation yet?

Since everyone else has basically stated what would be the smart and logical thing to do if this proceeds to a very unusual level in the psyche.

Sorry to by a cynic, but the first thing that popped into my mind was 'somone's seen the ring a few too many times'.

Even if you called a priest, the priest would in all likelyhood tell you to go to a doctor first - the tend to keep exorcism & suchlike in the closet.

There is always, of coure, the unfortunately possibility that your friend could be lying, fo attention, amusement, or other reasons.

Or it could be that she had this dream once, and dwelt on it so much that she made it reccur, as was mentioned before.

My first reaction was that she was picturing Samara from the Ring, so it seems to me that she's fine, just having a very uncomfortable nightmare. I know I've had some bad ones.

She's probably incorporating things she knows (unconsciously) and forming them into a nightmare. She may want to delve into what it is in her life that she's running from- whether it's a thought, an action, or something she doesn't want to do.

It seems to be covered so far, but I'd say that if she wants to talk to someone, it should be a psychologist, not a priest. Preferably a psychologist who can deal with dreams. I believe it's accepted in psychology that recurring dreams may have subconscious meanings. Of course, I also don't believe in possession.

from what little you gave its probaly not a neg attachment or possession, neg attachments are a lot more annoying then a reacueing dream. if it was a neg attachment then she would probaly have chest pressure and something weird would happen if she walked over water

I have a similar dream that I keep having.

It's where I'm in a all white room, and all of a sudden it turns pitch black.
And then the blackness begins to grab me, with something like tenticles.
And then it begins to pull me into a sort of bottomless hole.
All the while, (my Ex-adopted brother, who we had to give up when he was 7, because he was nuts) Looks at me with a crazied smile on his face.

Then I wake up.

If she's possessed you'll stay as far away from her as possible? Lol, sure wish I had you as a friend.

Is this dream having an impact on her everyday life? Are you sure there's something that needs to be fixed?

I'd suggest you don't take the advice of people who don't know the situation properly and do what you think it right, but having a few strange dreams isn't uncommon, and saying they're f-cked up in the head because of them is quite narrow minded.

Well I would rather ask for an update on her.

A friend of mine was having 'dreams' (though, according to her, she wasn't asleep all of the time) in which she would see similar things. She sought religious help and is now better. This indicates it was either (1) psychological and she convinced herself it was better and so it was or (2) there was truly something going on and the religious help saved her. Either way, it ended well. I suggest the same thing. She didn't go to a priest, she merely prayed. If your friend is overly skeptical of personal gods, there are also protection and cleansing rituals. It is likely her subconscious, and believing she is taking action against it may help.

I think it's probably a psychological factor also, I mean there are lots of things that can instigate the subconsious to act strangely, but if she is spiritually sensitive, she may be experiencing a mental reaction to an open third eye that she isn't aware she has opened. I've never actually seen it happen before, and I know not everyone believes in chakras and third eyes and all that jazz of course but this is my post so I'll put it from my perspective ^^, but I have heard cases when a spiritually sensitive person will open a chakra without realizing it and unwanted energies can build up and react with the physical mind over a period of time. In my opinion, if this is the case, clearing herself a little and a little "prayer time" should help clean her up well enough.

The most of those cases must be psychiatric treated.

I had a teacher that was a priest and made exorcisms, and he told us that for every 50 cases he had seen, only 1 was true possesions.

But I don't know.. I don't even believe in possesions, everything is mental, i think.
