Sleep
Let me sleep forever
Tomorrow and all that doesn’t really matter
I’m still alone
Dreaming the rest of this dream
As I awake from my slumber
One question still haunts me
“Why am I alive?”
We’re only alive in memories aren’t we?
Illuminated by the cold sun
I danced in the wind
Wings spread out
What was it that hurt you?
Illuminated by the moonlight
The rain closed the distance between us
All we did was sleep
Our hearts dream
Dissolving into morning
I find myself forever asleep
Forever in deep slumber
Never awakening
Maybe it would help heal your pain
