Is anyone following the civil war series?
I read the seven issues but a lot of the side story i'm still really confused about. With a major universe changing event like the civil war has been i really don't want to be left behind with the important side story events.
I was wondering if anyone here was knowledgeable about that... i have a lot of questions to ask ^_^;;;

I work at a comic store, so I get to keep up pretty well.
I thought Civil War was really shitty. I cried when Cap died... and they turned another one of my favorite heroes, Iron Man, into someone he really wasn't.
But the New Avengers did come out of Civial War, and that's a great book.
Marvel is actually thinking about red-coning the Civil War arc all together.

That series turned Iron Man into a total d**k. Which is a shame, considering he was one of Voltaire! Voltaire!'s favorite characters.

Iron Man is still one of my favorite characters.
I got the feeling they were portraying Iron Man as... this guy that was trying to do the right thing but slipping up quite a bit.
But to my knowledge Iron Man has always done things in odd, sometimes questionable ways.
But yeah I was surprised by the way Iron Man acted still.
Another one of my all time favorite characters had a strange part in the series - Thor.
I saw him on the cover (i think... i don't own the comics) and completely flipped out. The way they brought him to the series and the first fight scene he was in ending so tragically... that was really a bummer to me.
Besides, he was brought back by some hair left on a sofa from the first avengers... that's kind of a lame way for him to reappear.
And I'm still surprised he was wielding his hammer. Where did Iron Man get that anyways?
And what happened to the original leader of SHIELD?
If by red-coning you mean completely get rid of I wouldn't be surprised. I'm sure there are lots of comic book fans out there that are pretty upset at civil war.
I have heard civil war brought a lot of people to start reading comic books though. Civil War series even got a spot on NPR.

Tony Stark (Iron Man) used Captain America's dead body to lure the New Avengers to the Raft to make them register.
If that isn't dirty, I don't know what is.

It wasn't Captain America, actually. Besides, Carol was the one that said Cap was still alive and being held in the Raft. Iron Man was pretty pissed off when she told him about it.

Voltaire! Voltaire! Tony Stark (Iron Man) used Captain America's dead body to lure the New Avengers to the Raft to make them register. If that isn't dirty, I don't know what is. It also was said in Frontline that Tony started the war with the Atlantian's by taking over the Green Goblin and attacking the Atlantian ambassadors in order to get the super heroes to come together on a common cause. Just another thing that made Tony a total butt.
About Thor that wasn't Thor it was robotic clone of Thor. Mr.Fantastic made a clone of Thor in order to help fight the rebels and it went crazy about comic 4 I think it was. (Sorry all my comic books are 3 hours away back home.)
Oh and if they Red-Coned it I'd be a little miffed. Marvel needs to start taking responsibility for their actions and if someone dies they die. They can't keep blaming deaths on alien abductions and oh yea I was across the ocean dilemmas. (Except for Cap I can't believe they killed Cap even if it wasn't "actually" Cap.)

I have not gotten far into civil war. But I saw spiderman siding with Ironman. I thought that was cool, because I had no idea of where that was going...
It was very strange how stark would buy peter pretty clothes and take care of his needs... All because Stark was only one thing and one thing only...
Spidey's support! 4laugh

They actually had this huge article about it in my newspaper. When I saw the image of Captain America lying on the ground, I gasped and then brought the paper to school to show everyone. We were all pretty sad... I haven't gotten that far into Civil War, but I did read the Runaways/Young Avengers and Punisher: War Jouranal series'.
